@@battooninternet loves to see people suffering 😊 So, good job 👍 And I hope you’ll get there again, the place is beautiful.
Thanks! The place is really spectacular!
No, Pavel, your work is not awful and worthy to share in your videos. They are of scenes of Eastern (?) Europe we don't often get to see, so thank you for that.
Thank you David! Technically, Balkans are in Southern Europe, and despite the history of the region - it’s quite safe to travel there. And it’s worth it! 😀
Первое фото просто роскошное! По поводу замка в Ужице - там есть смотровая площадка наверху, с нее открывается хороший вид, только чуть более сверху, с телевиком там есть где развернуться👍

I would add Brian Christianson…. His photo’s primarily of Western Montana are WOW!…. Small Channel but outstanding talent….Check him out!
Thank you! I'll check!
Beautiful work! Kudos! I almost always try to fit 'work' into my compliments. Not a vocation rather an avocation. There is work to achieve the desired result. Map reconnaissance to scout a location; Multiple visits to the same location; time of day; weather conditions; equipment to bring; etc. All of that takes 'work'. A labor of love, though. I think I see a bit of Adam Karnacz in these images. A frosty/misty sort of look. His palette more toward blue and yours more toward gold in this case. Again, lovely images. Thank you for your efforts to knowledge share and lift our own work. Warm regards, John
Thank you John! You always find the touching words! Appreciate your kindness!
Who do you recommend as a candidate to be in my next video? Especially great if you recommend channels that are new but already sharing cool photography-themed content. Thanks!

Your video is overexposed
You're right, and I did it on purpose. Does overexposure make this video worse? I don't think so. At least I can look at my own face in this video and not look away in frustration. Sorry, such are my aging phobias :)
Beautiful work Pavel. Thank you for knowledge sharing.
Thank you very much! And You're welcome! 😄
There are some good channels around, the 2 I like the most are: Simon d´Entremont and Sean Gallagher. They do not talk about lenses or nearly any gear... they talk and teach photography. Simon is a Canon ambassador, so he uses Canon, but he usually refers to the other brands when he is explaining something about settings, as to where to find something on a different body maker. Sean is (among others) a Nat. Geographic photographer, and he is focused on teaching technique. All others doing Lens comparisons can be very misleading. I recently found a youtuber trashing over the Z24-200. Saying how it´s not worth half of its price and how it is not even close to the S lines. The fact is that, in the real world, that lens is absurdly close to the S lines around it, but it costs 30 to 50% less. It is a lens designed for people who want a one lens solution for most of their photos. But these people fail to understand that photography is not about perfect pixel sharpness and colors... of course we al want that! but reality is that lenses do not make photos, persons do. Some of the best photos in history were taken with 20 or even 30 years old equipment... so there is no need to get the absolute best of the best lens, if a 30% cheaper lens is just 5% less sharp... chances are you will end up with the exact same image, if it is an outstanding photo, none cares if it becomes a bit soft on the edges, which you can´t even tell unless you pixel compare one to one... They remind me of gaming youtubers, explaining why one class or spec is better than the others.. truth is.. the best is the one you enjoy/play/use.
I agree with you (and Simon even listicles in one of my videos about ‘photographers on TH-cam’). I don't think the problem here is genre per se, but how the algorithm encourages one genre in favour of another. Even if it's done conventionally by the hands of the viewers themselves, but the algorithm indulges it. My thought is that I have assessed this (my) viewer behaviour as unhealthy and am trying to be more sober in my choice of videos to watch, and I thought I'd share this idea. Yes, it seems as if the most unusual channel about photos and videos is Camera Conspiracy. At the very least it's funny :)
@@Aphorism89 simon is good channel, very inspiring style
@@realpain84 Yeah, I wish there was less FOMO promoting videos from people sharpening the absolute best of all... in reality things are different than in theory. So I rather stick to people teaching techniques and settings, that´s the real world :)
It's not just photography.. this plagues many other hobbies too. TH-cam wants to show you as many ads as possible, while you're watching videos that are just long form ads. I'm getting tired of all the actually valuable content getting buried under marketing and hype. Google search itself has the same problem as well.
Yeah, probably you're right. And it's sad.
Gear reviews are the only type of video on photography that's supported by the algorithm. The most valuable advice is buried beneath the reviews. This was adressed by Tin House Studio. He said that if he continued making videos about commercial photography advice, his channel would tank, so he had to split the channel in two - one for the algorithm and one for the videos he prefers. When you review gear, you get rewarded by TH-cam the supplier and a sponsor. When you talk about photography, you may get a sponsor but that's about it. You won't make a popular channel and that's by design, because business only supports business.
I understand your point, but I think it's much simpler than that, and there is no conspiracy of businesses. The algorithm rewards those videos that have a higher % of watch time of the length of the video. And videos with tech reviews people are guaranteed to watch longer to learn the specs and see the conclusions of the video author. But if you're right, and it's a conspiracy, then we as an audience can easily fix it by disrupting all their plans - just stop watching all reviews. In fact, all reviews at all. And invest our viewing time (TH-cam's main currency) in something else. And both advertisers and the algorithm will immediately follow us 😊
@@battoon I'm not saying there's a conspiracy, only that's how the system works. If a video is structured well, people watch it, but you are not getting enough support to keep working on perfected videos. There's no incentive and so most videos about training and theory are dilluted and simply don't go deep enough into subject matter for people to learn somehting past some very early beginning, like how does this knob works, or how to use a lamp for a portrait. Meanwhile for reviews, you get stuff sent to you early so that you get a free boost to your viewership, you then get promoted by the algorithm and get good sponsor deals. All that for minimal input, because the reviews aren't even good reviews, because the value is in quick rather than thorough.
It's sad. In other words, when I say it's a trap - I'm much more right even than I thought when I recorded this video. Hopefully, the TH-cam team will realise at some point that this is a problem that exists and needs to be addressed. But it seems for now they are more concerned with developing shorts and competing with tiktok.
good point... i was observing for some time vintage lenses. i bought me few of them but the picture quality is very random, yes all those "historical" lenses are nice but ... whats the point of wasting even more time on cr4ppy images ? subbed & cheers
Thank you so much, appreciate it! By the way, vintage lenses actually give a noticeable artistic effect sometimes. Although in my opinion in most cases it's a matter of aesthetic, snobbish hype rather than anything rational 😃
@@battoon yes, sometimes the lens flare is nice, sometimes bokeh - but all those "nostalgia" elements are generated with few actions in photoshop... and often autofocus is absolutely necessary... so i would not recommend vintage lenses for commercial production...
True! Nice for "creative search" but not for work :-)
You could make a career in ASMR, think about it!

thank you for the video. regards from denmark .I use pentax camera, work great. and DSLR, nikon . I not use Z for what ?
Thank you! I think that any camera that you are comfortable using and that gives you the results you want is the best camera in your case. There will always be something better and prettier on the market, something desirable. But that just means that brand marketers don't get paid for nothing :)
Simon Baxter, that's just what he does! good episode Pavel!
Thank you very much! Please feel free to suggest someone else! 👍
🎉🎉🎉
Simon Baxter’s secret is Meg. He just follows Meg, his dog, wherever she goes and sure enough there are things to photograph.
Yeah, that's right! It's all clear now - it's the dog. And there's another example of this phenomenon - Nigel Danson - it's the same story, he follows the dog and it leads him to great shots. You've just solved the mystery! 😄

I agree with your list!
I enjoyed your video very much, though, I didn't catch what city this is...I especially like your "alley way" shots as they capture a very cool mood with the side wall lamps. I also like your video series on getting to know other photographers. One very special but likely not very well-known amateur photographer is Guillaume at the "IMAGES" channel (@images7). I find his street walk photography sessions in Osaka, Japan very enjoyable with perfectly accompanying musical selections. Thank you for sharing your nighttime photo walk of such a beautiful city! 👍
Thank you so much for your comment! This city is Novi Sad, in Serbia. It has a beautiful old town, which is still not fully reconstructed and you can meet very soulful places. And thanks for the recommendation of the photographer channel, I will definitely check out his work!
@@battoon I’m so delighted to see such lovely Serbian city life and patrons enjoying the beauty of such a proud city and country. I’m still oriented with the atrocities of the 1990s wartime imagery many of us only experienced afar on nightly news updates so it’s almost unthinkable to believe any of that happened when seeing such a lovely place in Serbia. Thank you again and I look forward to watching more as one of your subscribers ✌️
Thank you for your kind words! Indeed, Serbia has rebuilt and changed a lot in 25 years. And the most beautiful thing is to observe the results of the post-war baby boom: the streets of Serbian cities are full of beautiful and intelligent young people. Confirmation of this can be seen in the video 😄

The one thing that gives away every bag as a camera bag… taking out and putting a camera in it. I understand the idea, but it is practically meaningless.
Imagine yourself in the shoes of a more or less experienced thief. Do you have the opportunity to steal a bag with a Canon or LowePro logo, or some obscure bag of unclear use? It seems like the thief would pick the one where something of value is guaranteed to be. Of course, if he noticed you putting Leica in any bag - the type of bag won't matter anymore. But in all other cases - the more inconspicuous the safer, at least that's how it seems to me.
@@battoon Yep! I get it. In cases where one isn't flashing their gear around it is safer, and I honestly prefer not to carry an obvious camera bag myself for two reasons: it is potentially safer (albeit only very marginally), and most camera bags are just ugly and/or way overpriced. I would use Domke; simple and plain, high quality that most wouldn't recognize as a camera bag (I don't think), but they are outrageously priced.
Totally agree!
Great tips on TH-cam photographer i watch most of them already
I appreciate that!
