Hi, my name is Sarah! I was diagnosed with multiple autoimmune diseases in my 20s but kept speeding onward, determined that nothing would change about my lifestyle. After fifteen years of perfectionism, I hit a wall and realized I needed to make serious changes in how I treated myself. I began correcting my mindset around productivity, particularly as it pertains to house-care tasks. That work transformed my life and became the Adaptive Cleaning system. I now advocate for those of us with chronic physical and mental health conditions via video and written content, as well as digital products.
Manage your time & health, improve relationships, handle meals & more | Neurodivergent Planning
Planning and organizing require certain tools when you're neurodivergent. I didn't have any tools for most of my life, so I always thought I was a slob, lazy, lacking in discipline. I thought if I tried harder, I could get myself together. But it sucked because I was already trying so hard.
I hope the strategies I share today will help or inspire you in your journey to filling your own toolkit. If you are interested in the planner I created, the links are below (and there is a shop-wide holiday sale from now through January 7, 2025.)

Easier Oven Cleaning
มุมมอง 5077 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
Does anyone NOT dread oven cleaning? I can’t handle products like Easy Off because they give me insane headaches. However, I have gathered some shortcuts that make cleaning the oven easier, like using dishwashing tabs to soak your racks. And if you have a steamer, wow, that thing cuts grease fast.

Cozy cleaning & organizing my office space, but make it realistic
มุมมอง 242วันที่ผ่านมา
I wanted to make a cozy video of cleaning and organizing my office, but I also wanted to show all the realistic interruptions that happen when tackling a project. To me, being interrupted repeatedly tempts me to totally give up trying to be productive. So, I'm hoping this realistic glimpse into cleaning my office is an encouragement to you, as you deal with your own interruptions!

I'm using my ADHD planner, which includes my Adaptive Cleaning System, and if you're interested in checking it out, you can do so here: www.sarahmcglory.com/online-store/ADHD-Adaptive-Living-Digital-Planner-...
Tears, working on my health, & Wicked
มุมมอง 1.2K14 วันที่ผ่านมา
This day started and ended with tears. Does anyone else get so emotional about community-based efforts to support each other? This deeply gets me every time. Then, I ended the day with my three older kids watching Wicked. Where I cried. How's your day been going?
This is the festive family time I wanted 🎄

This was such a fun day! We got our beautiful tree and decorated her with the dozens of handmade and special ornaments we’ve been collecting for years. Two ornaments date to the wayyy back in 1979 (when I was born!) How was your day?
I tried to have fun family time, but things took a turn 😅

You can try your best, but things often fall apart. Especially when trying to corral a bunch of kiddos...This day started out great, but then the kids went wild. Then I fell apart. I seriously wanted to quit filming and not share because it didn't turn out how I wanted. BUT, this is real life!
Ditching the anxiety this holiday season | Vlogmas Dec 1

Thank you!🥰
As a professional that's one of the hardest boots to replace. When I see that one, I literally groan. That one has that rigid plastic piece that distributes the water around the spray nozzles and it has to be perfectly aligned, not every machine is like that. One thing I do on that model specifically, is I get maytag inner ring. They are way easier to install.

It's an iPad and I use the GoodNotes app for all of my digital files.
Thank you ❣️ Right now, I am overwhelmed and down. Your videos give me so much hope 💕 Thank you again for being vulnerable and in that helping me.
I'm glad to share some hope but I'm so sorry you're feeling down and overwhelmed. If you're like me, where it's easy to think you have to do 1,034 things in order to get "caught up," I just encourage you to focus on one small thing at a time. My perfectionism has always led to me being stuck and unable to make progress, but just doing something small and refusing to worry about the rest enables progress to be made:) Hugs!
@SarahMcGloryHome I decided to only make lists of 3 or 5 things that need to be done. Sadly, today, the list has closer to 12 things. Half or more done will count as success❣️❣️ On some other days, I plan on count success when 1 thing gets done. I need the wins for my mental health because I just can't control my physical health issues.
Preach! My trash can is under the sink and opening the cabinet door fifty times a day really erases all my will to live. esthetics 10/10, practicability 2/10. On most days i place the trash can on the floor to just chuck in things as a go past.
Ha! I'm always thinking certain tasks are erasing my will to live, so I just got a chuckle out of this!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I do this!!! Not lazy. I bought a little bucket thing that sits on top of a cabinet door. Team conserve energy here!
I love being on this team!
Love this positive modeling. So important
Thank you! I agree!
Can you help me I’m a mom of five I would like to have daily plan plan everything but I don’t know how
Hi there! I have resources on my website that might be what you're looking for! I have a cleaning system, but I also have a free daily/weekly cleaning sheet that comes from my system, so people can see how Adaptive Cleaning works. www.sarahmcglory.com
I never have thought to sit while cleaning the toilet! It makes so much sense!

This was a great peek into the mind of a mom. Even with a wonderful, supportive spouse, our domain is vast! There is so much to think about every week. And I totally agree about Walmart…I’m happy to get everything else for the week there, but their produce is not great.
Thank you so much! Yes, the amount of things we do and consider is non-stop. No wonder it never feels like we're "caught up"- it doesn't exist!
As usual, this was so encouraging. I get so down on myself as a mom with ADHD when I don’t accomplish everything I set out to do. I know I need to work on my mindset with this! Especially when it’s really often extracurricular stuff.
A few months ago, my spouse challenged me to give myself more credit for the things I do get done, no matter how much is still on my list. So I started a Did List. Every time I didn't want to do a task, wanted to put it off or ignore it, but did it anyway, I put it on my Did List. This goes for *both* items from my To Do List *and* random, impulsive side quests! If I exerted willpower to accomplish something - even 5 minutes of a longer task - I give myself credit. It's been so healing to do that! I honestly didn't realize how much effort I put in every day just to do the basics plus a tad. And on the days when I only have a few things on the list, I can look back 1 or 2 days and see that I had a day when I accomplished more than I'd ever expect of anyone. So it averages out, and I can still credit myself for doing my best. I highly recommend this approach for anyone who is struggling with motivation or self-image around productivity. It's really helped me!
I'm so glad! Yep, I'm still working on my mindset and prob always will. I just want to be superhuman so badly!
Thanks for the video. Took the washer apart and got the new gasket seal in. If you own a front load washer I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND wiping down the crevices of the gasket after each load just like you clean the lint trap in the dryer after each load. If you have pets, I would not wash their bedding or other fabric items in the same machine as you do your clothes. Renter almost destroyed a beautiful LG set.

Sarah I recently learned the same thing about my energy and if I rest too long. There's a happy medium I need to keep going. I find if I start a load of laundry, do a quick tidy, quick pickup, just anything quick then I get my coffee and healthy breakfast. I typically put my breakfast dishes in the dishwasher and then start another load of laundry, clean one thing in the bathroom as per the routine on the kind of day or week I'm having. Then I sit for a few minutes, and this goes on for most of the day, up and down but I keep trying to find something else to clean, tidy or organize that meets my energy level. With your plan that I bought over a year ago, I've learned (it took work and time) that even on a very low energy day I can get a lot done that meets my level of energy but it probably wouldn't have gotten completed any other time because it was too insignificant to bother with. I CLEANED my 2 junk "drawers" the other day which hasn't been done in probably 3 years but boy was it fun and required no energy except for finding sorting containers. LOL It felt so good though!!! 🥳🥳🥳❤️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
@@Cyndy101 it’s so key finding the balance, and different energy levels require totally different rules. It’s so encouraging to read what you’ve been doing and that you’ve found so much success within your own adaptive routine! Thank you for telling me! 😍

I'm new to your channel. Is there a video that talks about how you came to adopt your three youngest? I'm really enjoying your content. I love how you give yourself permission to do things differently and listen to your body. Thank you ❤
Hi there! So glad you're here! I don't have a recent video about the adoption- that whole process started in September 2020. Maybe I should do a Q & A soon?
@SarahMcGloryHome that's a great idea!
That was so cute at the end, the little girl doing house repairs. You done a good job on the carpet. 👍🏼.

You're so sweet! Yes, they seemed to have a great time, but instead of my activity, it was their wrestling activity!
Expectations vs reality are always different with kids ❤ looking forward to more of your vlogmas!
You're so right! I've noticed that the more effort I need to come up with, the more hung up I am on an ideal expectation. Not fair to myself OR the kiddos!
