Good to see you back, glad things are working out. I think you'll do fine, as long as you continue with the positive attitude, the hard work, and keep the word-of-mouth advertising going you should be able to keep yourself in demand with customers. Not to mention that fixing houses with skilled labor will never go out of style, especially older buildings, as long as people live in houses there will always be work available.

Glad you're getting money coming in. Contractors can be a real pain both doing work for you & working for them. I know you had talked about going out on your own. Hope it works well for you.

@themaintenanceman1 Just plugging along. Counting down to retirement. My body is catching up to my age a little faster. Arthritis in the spine, shoulder & hips. Shoulder & kneck messed up some. Memory not as good as it use to be because of stress & lack of sleep. People still think I'm in my late 40s or 50s & not 63 so I'm doing something right.

It's great to see you again my friend and happy to hear you've started your own handyman business. I know how hard it is to get started by word of mouth. Here in northern Vermont, it's very hard to find good reliable handymen who can get the job done without any drama and breaking the bank. Since I lost my left leg this past January, I'm confined to a wheelchair which hinders my ability to climb ladders and other activities and I'm having to find local handymen to help me out. Here, there are some private contractors who advertise their personal businesses online through a local FB Marketplace site and that's where I find all the people needed to help me out when available. Good luck to you with your new endeavor and hoping you succeed. Cheers !!!!!

@@themaintenanceman1 np, was repairing an old bike. tried for 3 hrs to get a stuck crank bolt off with all my might, even laying on the side and using my legs to crank it ...didnt budge. tried this - 5 mins later came off no problem.

get warranty claim on your flex. it's throttling on the big bolts. not supposed to do that.
I have put shark bites on the connections for hot and cold behind my washing machine and for the hot water copper pipe to the kitchen sink and under the sink. If you deburr the pipes with sand paper and you have an even cut with a pipe cutter they work like a champ. You have to make a fairly even cut to the pipe and clean up any sharp edges. People just think they can slap them together with pipe ends all mangled. Thats why sharkbites fail and its the only reason I have found. I know from experience. They work very very well. You don't have to get a blow torch and swett anything. You don't have to call a plumber for something you can do for like 35 bucks. Plus theres lots of videos you can watch for these type of connectors. Plumbers get way to much. Plus Last time i called one. He charged $700.00 and didn't fix the problem at all. Plumbers and AC hvac repairman are liars and thieves. I've learned my lesson and i fix everything myself. I'm not paying some liar or theif to fix what I can do myself.
@@jackspratt44 with any plumbing fitting whether your using sharkbite, pex, soldering, propress you want a clean cut, deburr, and clean up the pipes otherwise it’s all going to fail. But you are correct. Sharkbites work and for someone to go out and even if they spend 100- 150$ in fittings they are still saving money. The only thing is in some areas when you go to sell your house they don’t allow sharkbites. But I think for the most part that really doesn’t even matter anymore. I’ve only seen a few instances where people had to change them out. And don’t forgot the sewer and drain cleaner companies. They will put people in debt real fast. @@rehutto1 I personally do not still use them because I am heavily invested in the ryobi lineup. That being said if I were to be buying into a brand today I would not hesitate to buy into the craftsman lineup. It’s basically dewalt since they are all owned by Stanley black and decker. For a homeowner, diyer or even in the trades I think this lineup will take you far.

Caveat emptor. The Hyper Tough Brand is not worth the money and Walmart does not honor the Hyper Tough Warranty. 😧
They don’t honor the warranty? That’s crappy. I do think the hyper tough brand has gotten a lot better through the years. I liked buying Stanley from Walmart cause they would honor the warranty on the hand tools. Thanks for sharing and thanks for watching!
