มุมมอง 25K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Are Cruisers for losers? In this video I try to answer that question. House Rule Ideas for Cruisers: 1) Cruisers have an "onboard AA Gun" which fires up to one shot per cruiser at the start of the first round of combat (but only ever one shot per enemy air unit). This ability works on both attack and defense. There aren’t any rules in Axis&Allies to account for air vs navy. Maybe cruisers can f...

On your Next tutorial video you should name it: Allied Victory over the Nolimit’s Axis Team! And How to Make Them…..Yep, that’ll Never get Old for the Nolimit, Prove Me Wrong CLEGG-Prooove me wrong!!!😁
You had me at FLIGHT STANDS! However you also had the No1limit Lost at “Lots of Hard Work”!!! I personally found that one could easily cut all that hard work in half by using Magnetic Paint on the bottom of the planes and the top of carriers and then put customized carrier fight deck stickers over the Painted surface…

I thought you died
😂😂😂
Nope, Only Clegg’s Brit forces died….trying to go against my Axis team on ‘42 online very recently!😏
Economic parity sometimes happens, both teams having equal incomes, with equal dice and well matched strategies, the game can go on & on &... In this case, several turns worth of Japanese units are in Russia and the USA can be caught unprepared for invasion because they too, have several turns of infantry overseas and in Russia. Japan need only make a huge retreat to the Soviet far east, onto a boat and Alaska becomes the next tank factory, Japan should have near 30 units in Alaska as the new factory is built, 30 or more units awaiting transport from far east to Alaska. If the USA Atlantic shipping can be delayed, the western USA will become Japanese, a fair trade for most of ASIA .
"I know an idiot that once fell for that" Well, that guy isn't an idiot because he helped me break my 19x losing streak! (I tried to use the same tactics in chess, I don't know why I thought they'd work, and my Lichess rating fell from 2100 to 1900) Anyway, Great series!

@@RealaDrone long awaited flight stands tutorial inbound! After that there'll probably be another wait of a few months
@CorporalClegg Ok! Thanks for telling me!
@@RealaDrone thanks for asking!
9/20 :( That why I use battle calc.
the value of an AA gun is in the long term, the fact that you lose a plane in a single battle is low impact but losing that plane in the long run for basically nothing can be impactful.
Carriers are clutch, best sea unit because of the versatility. They allow you to bring the planes to the fight, and not just the ones on the deck. Planes are the cheap offensive and defensive power here. 21 PUs for 3/4 attackdefense values and high movement is a good deal. Having that mobile platform allows for some of the best offense because you can often bring planes to bear from some other source due to there being a carrier in range which provide landing space. The utility is just unmatched. Ultimately, I find nothing performs better than a nice balanced fleet. Take a little of everything, except cruisers really. They need something special to make them worthwhile.
Where did you get your flight stands?
@@jmanusmc2006 there are a homemade customisation. I'll be making a tutorial video for them soon, so stay tuned!
Im going all in on transports
Awesome flight stands! Could u plz tell me where to buy?
@@Mageworld thanks! These are homemade, but you can buy premade ones from places like Historical Board Gaming. Or if you hang about for a little while I'll be making a tutorial for these soon(ish) as many people have been asking
15-colonel!
I wonder how much stats will change if cruisers were to cost 10 IPC or had another ability to make them unique
Just thought of an ability. Smoke screen, instead of firing during a combat round you may use the cruisers smoke screen to escape at the end of a combat round. Similar to subs submerge ability.
Love your advice and how it's delivered :-) !
This series is the best primer for Axis and Allies I have seen to date. I would go as far to say that AnA players are not fully educated without having watched this three part series. Exceptional work.
Good video! What is the thing that you to higher up to planes
@@thornbergz2426 they're flight stands - a homemade customisation. I'll do a tutorial on how to make them at some point
I’m a newbie to axis and allies so don’t judge me but, what version of axis and allies are you using? The plane sticks look awesome!
@@dbspastaboi looks like 1942 2nd edition, anniversary edition and Europe 1940. The flight stands are a homemade customisation though - they don't come with any version of A&A. But I plan to make a tutorial for these at some point in the near(ish) future. Thanks man!
I'm personally a fan of the subs+destroyers fleet with some carriers sprinkled in to hold starting fighters
You need the VANN EQUATION/FORMULA to help you out.
after 2:40 I instantly hit the subscribe button.
Love your use of those arrows. What my friends and I do is; once you have used a unit for either combat or non-combat, you then the unit on its side. This prevents anyone from accidentally moving their unit twice. For aircraft, we place a die next to them to denote how much fuel each specific aircraft has left, as it can get complex remembering which plane came from where if you’re doing some big land and sea battle in the pacific. Did you get your arrows from Risk?
@@sullivannix4509 nice ideas for new players! Yes got the arrows from risk 😁 Thanks for the comment
For next video, rechercha and développement
I think a good house rule is giving them +1 carrying capacity, like a transport, but only being able to carry one unit.
That's basically the role of the Marine unit. One marine can fit into either the cruiser or battleship. They attack during sea invasions at a roll of 2, and also get the bombardment from the cruiser, so they could single handedly take lightly defended islands in the right circumstances especially if you send a fighter or bomber to help. It basically saves you the cost of having to buy a seperate transport and along with infantry and units to protect it. Cruisers have a lot more use in the Pacific if you have the marine unit.
@queuedjar4578 Yeah I like Marines a lot, really makes Japan's life annoying.
@@jasonaustin7251 Japan can also use them really well to take over the entire pacific for very cheap. Very useful for India or Hawaii invasion.
In an amphibious assault a mix of tanks and artillery is probably the best, because the artillery doesnt start losing their extra attack power when the first infantry dies
Shaving off the half-point from the average is questionable to me. The entire premise here is called into question. 🤷♂️
@@TopherOKeefe it's an old video with questionable logic, you're right. One day I might remake it
So okay... Cruiser is the best... But only if you house rule AAA and they have a movement space of three (not 2).

Very cool, I think a Santas sled and reindeer unit would make a great strategic "gift" bomber,
An addendum for the sneaky ship placement - if the other player's ships are straddling a sea zone line, make them tidy up or use a mobilization card such as those from AA:Revised. Be absolutely sure which sea zone a sea unit is in, and if your opponent is being wishy-washy or vague about positioning or fussing about keeping things obvious, they're trying to cheat. I've played A&A for decades. It wasn't until I started playing online shooters did I find a more dedicated group of crooks and cheaters to rival A&A.
Axis and Allies AAA rule (technology levels) 1. OOB rules, I prefer the Global '40, up to 3 dice for each gun, fire first round only + free flyovers 2. Up to 4 dice for each gun, first round only 3. Same as #2 but no more free flyovers, they get fired at now 4. Same as #3 but now fire every round of combat 5. Same as #4 but now hit Armor on a roll of 2, multi role gun. 6. Selective Anti aircraft / Targeted planes...owner no longer gets to choose. * As per normal, no more than one dice per attacking unit. * More interesting, add a $5 minor air unit ($5, attack 1 & defend 1, move 4) to the game, it's basically a half fighter ($10 fighters) & 1/3 bomber ($15 bombers). Now any air hit is reduced by $5, forced to retreat from this battle and a hit fighter now becoming a minor air unit while a hit bomber becomes two minor air units and all are forced to retreat immediately. Spending $5 and having two minor air units in owners factory, a bomber is built, also spending $5 and adding a single minor air unit, a fighter is built. Bombing raids need some recalculating as do fighter interceptor rules * AAA guns cost $5 and can be taken as a casualty * Aircraft carriers hold up to 4 minor air units ($20 total) *Bombers hit and turned into minor air units temporary keep the bombers range until they land (landing must be done before any more dice are rolled) * Defending transport hits against aircraft are only minor air hits...half hits compared to normal rules, same effect as taking damage from AAA fire. * Single round interception combat, all hits are treated as anti aircraft damaged. Fighters defend @ 2 (jets @3), attacking/escorting fighters attack @ 1 (jets 2). Bombers and minor air units only ever hit on a 1. * Tactical air, treat all minor aircraft as tactical air units, paired with a fighter at sea, minor air units hit (attack only ) on a 1 or 2, the "2" hit being attackers choice. Minor air units paired with a tank unit also hit (attack only) on a 1 or 2, the "2" hit also being attackers choice...targeted hits. *$15 bombers can carry one infantry, non combat only, up to 6 spaces. **Late game unit, Fighter bomber, ($15, attack 4, defend 3, range 6 and can land on aircraft carriers, no transport abilities).
