I had the chance to ride on the type of train that first ran on Spain's high-speed lines: the S-100 from Alstom. These trains were the ones that initially started running on the first-ever high-speed line between Madrid and Seville back in 1992. These trains, operated by the national carrier RENFE, have a maximum design speed of 300 km/h (186 mph). They are extremely comfortable and still perfo...

I had the chance to ride again on Spain's IRYO high-speed bullet train Frecciarossa. In this occasion, I traveled in First Class “Infinita Bistro” which includes a nice meal served by the train’s crew. It was a wonderful experience in every aspect and this was also an amazing trip as I could visit the dirver’s cabin. Riding these trains in Spain at 300 km/h ( 186 mph) surely is something specta...

What an amazing train this Double Decker from the operator Ouigo is. My expectations were high, but they were surpassed and taken to another level. It’s an extremely comfortable and welcoming high-speed train, and it’s very, very fast. We were able to reach its top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph) with spectacular stability. The noise level on the second deck, called ‘Sky’, is one of the lowest I’ve...

I really liked this video, NYC is amazing 🤩🤩 very pretty Christmas decorations
Excelente servicio amo el s100
@@mariadelmarjimenezarroyo Es un tren excelente!👏
Hola at 6:34 its more comun to see S112 😃 its quite chalange to see the diference from this point of view. 4:59 the look of that train was something that Renfe at the ask Alstom and CAF (they participated in the building of this train) to be more round to have more of airplane look to it (back whem they where ordered Renfe saw the poor public percetion of train as slow and old) At 6:58 the resion of that its a verry intresting history the set 12 When they where S101 (The same train but for Iberian gauge) its was doing a Euromed service when in 2003 it got into a Terrible accident where it crashed onto a Regional train the frist powercar and the frist class coaches where lost. Alstom with Renfe when there where triying to get it back Alstom had one spared POS/Duplex power car (23:13 you can see how similar it looks) with a few coaches that where suposed to be for the KTX (In South Korea the KTX I) end up on the S101 set 12 after the repare it was the frist S100/101 train to revice the Renfe OP colors (Purple and white) all the other sets where on "Grande lineas" livery in 2013 the S101 where ""retired"" and replaced with ¡¡¡S130!! By """Retired"""" the S101 where converted to S100 (thay change the gauge it can run from 1668 to 1435) ¡¡¡Where they last to this day!!! Fun fact some S100 goes to France 😎 doing 2 routes Barcelona to Lyon Madrid to Barcelona to Marselle (1111km 👀) Si llegaste aqui. Gracias por leer hasta el final 😁 If you read this thanks for reding it all
@@Cepia120 😃👋 What an amazing post, thank you so much for all the information and details. I am stoked, there is so much history around these trains, and it is not easy to find it, that is why I appreciate your support so much!🤗

Average speed 190 km/h (120 mph). Nice. 6:00 300 km/h is 186 mph. 🙂
@@kjh23gk Jeeze!! My typing went really bad in that caption 😅, I’m changing that one on the go, thanks for your advice, wouldn’t be bad if it really was as fast as I initially wrote 😬
Some trains of this series are going to be retired. Others will do AVANT services Madrid - Toledo during peak hours
@@jlbuenomeandro Thanks for the info, I appreciate it! ❤️They have been on duty for a while and holding tight. Do you know if there is any information yet about what kind of train will replace them? Maybe some ultra-modern model?🚅
@NotJustSoloTravel Renfe purchased several train models: 15 Talgo Avril (RD) Class 106: Shifting Rolling System 15 Talgo Avril Class 106. 13 Talgo 350(*) (RD) Class 107: Shifting Rolling System : Former hotel train cars that have been recovered and renovated for high-speed trains. This last model will be used on the Mediterranean Corridor from Almeria to Gerona in 3 years and perhaps also Madrid - Cádiz
@NotJustSoloTravel Renfe is going to buy more trains, but I think they will not be Talgo trains, this time. I hope they are these Alstom trains . en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avelia_Liberty

También es el que se utiliza para ir a Francia
@@celulaperfecte 🛤️🚄Siempre me ha parecido todo un reto técnico la adaptación de los anchos de vía y cambio de tensión, ¿Ocurre esto en algún otro país?
@NotJustSoloTravel Currently, the high-speed line between France and Spain has the same track gauge and tension. Spain builds high-speed lines in international gauge.
@NotJustSoloTravel There is a case, in the Basque country (Irun), that is Iberian gauge track because it is old, but a third lane is going to be installed.
@@jlbuenomeandro Thank you so much, ☺️ that is valuable knowledge and I do appreciate it a lot👏

@@mikk8016 Love to hear that from you 😃.It was a great meal, very good quality! There are currently 4 different options for meals and another 4 options for breakfast, so plenty of choices!! You can also order special meals depending on your neads, so it is pretty much customizable 🤩
I've never been in a train driver’s cabin before, and there are some things I don't know what they're for. Is there anyone who can tell me what the needle indicators on the right are for?

@NotJustSoloTravel vamosss. Muchas gracias ☺️🫂

Nice trip report . A very good job. That train is fantastic ! I wish i have a train like that in Portugal 🇵🇹 Only in my dreams 😄
@@carlosrosas7249 Thanks for that! I appreciate it so much 🎊. I really liked it too, with such a smooth ride and charming ambiance. Which is the train you like the most in Portugal?
@@NotJustSoloTravel Portugal has the Alpha Pendular ( Pendolino train ) with a max. speed of 220 km / hour . It connects Portugal from North to South > Braga , Porto , Aveiro , Coimbra, Lisboa to Faro ( Algarve region ) . Now Portugal is building ( early days ) an high speed line from Lisboa to Porto with an expected speed of 300 - 320 km / hour . It's gonna take many years untill conclusion . For a beautiful train ride you have the Douro Valley Line from Porto to Pocinho , along the Douro River and the famous Port Wine vineyards . Greetings from Portugal 🇵🇹

@@NotJustSoloTravel Not Sure!
The Frecciarossa is in Italy. In Spain it ist called Iryo.
@nbreuer2029 Hello 👋 and thanks a lot for your comment, this is a very good point!! I initially had the same doubt, but if you have a look to the long video, you will see that “Frecciarossa” is also written in iryo‘s Spanish train and I think it is due to that name being already famous for that type of train, and the Spanish operator iryo maybe kept it as a tribute!!
