During Cao Cao's forces' long journey back to Xuchang after their victory, Guo Jia fell ill after departing from Liucheng (which is located in present-day Chaoyang County in Liaoning province). He would eventually succumb to his illness between late September-early October 207, at the age of 38 (by East Asian age reckoning).

The only mistake Dun made was during the Hanzhong campaign when he listened Yang Xiu who falsely said Cao Cao was ordering a retreat. This was known as the "chicken rib incident". Yang Xiu misinterpret the chicken rib as Cao Cao wanting to retreat. Cao Cao executed the advisor and reprimanded Xiahou Dun for listening to him. However prior to Yang Xiu's execution he did warn Cao Cao that the battle may not go in his favor so he ended up burying Yang Xiu with honor.

Sun Quan didn't have as many great warriors like Cao Cao or Liu Bei, but he did have a few. Gan Ning, Taishi Ci, Zhou Tai and Ling Tong. Sun Quan's brother: Sun Ce, and his father: Sun Jian, were also valiant warriors.

Guan Yu and Huang Zhong die in 220, Zhang Fei in 221, Ma Chao in 222 and Zhao Yun in 229. Wei Yan was the LAST great warrior of Shu. However, he was boastful. Even Sun Quan said "once Zhuge Liang died, Wei Yan would prove to be an unreliable person."

The more I learn about the generals of Shu, the more I learn that they are the MOST flawed individuals in history. They are some of the most valiant warriors of the time, but seem to have BAD personalities. Guan Yu was unrelenting and conceited, Zhang Fei was brutal and heartless, Ma Chao was just a copy of Lü Bu, Wei Yan was boastful. Other generals of Shu like Jiang Wei, Yang Yi, etc. They seems to be bad as well.

I think that Jiang Wei can be summarize by his tactic in ROTK 13. It is called Desperate Command. Even Chen Shou, who wrote the Records of the Three Kingdoms, wrote that "Jiang Wei was proficient in civil and military affairs, and he desired to attain personal glory and leave his name in history. However, he lacked foresight and good judgment when he chose a path of warmongering, and that resulted in his downfall."

Facts about Guo Huai : Before his time as a military advisor to Deng Ai (before the reign of Emperor Cao Fang of Wei), he initially served as a young bodyguard who was highly trusted by Xiahou Yuan & Zhang He during Cao Cao's conquest of Yang Ping Castle against Zhang Lu in 215 and the Battle of Han Zhong in 219 (Cao Cao's revenge for the death of Xiahou Yuan and the fall of Mount Ding Jun at the hands of Generals Huang Zhong & Yan Yan, both of whom were elderly commanders working for Liu Bei).
