    Is this a bass channel or political activist channel?

    • @floofthebassplayer
      @floofthebassplayer 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I don't know where you got political activist from, but I'll give you a real answer to this question. It's whatever I want it to be, I'm a person with thoughts, a life, a cat, a passion, etc. So whatever I feel like I want this channel to be, that's what it will be. My passion is in bass, so that's the why the name is that way, but if I wanted it to be about me playing whatever game I like, whatever food I hate, my taste in men, etc. It shouldn't matter, it's my channel. Hope this answers your question.

    i wholey agree with your z3 opinion. it sounds great, it was just not comfy to play. I have a ray34 that i love but it weighs 12 lbs thus i always keep an open mind for a replacement.... that bass is still more comfortable to play than the z3.

    Who cares about batteries if it can be powered by usb, which makes it being powered by power bank? Other than that I totally agree. I actually bough it with this intend - check what I want in the future. Plus, to have a very solid headphone amp powered by a power bank :)

    Four AA batteries provide greater amp-hour capacity than a single 9V battery. This results in a longer-lasting performance. Additionally, 9V batteries waste energy when operating at the lower voltages this unit uses. Consequently, for energy efficiency, AA batteries are a better choice. You can still plug a 9v in with a pigtail if you have extras lying around.

    Hehe, I did the same thing with my 2002 EBMM Sterling 4H, but... 1. Changed the ceramic MM humbucker to a passive Häussel MM pickup (wired to my specs), and added Fender Pure Vintage '63 P-Bass PUs. 2. Made the bass passive with a well thought out circuit allowing for serial/paralel/split of the humbucker and 3-way switching between the pickups, as well as mixing the two PUs in the "both" position with a blend pot. And, man, this thing rawcks 😎 TIP1: When you reverse the P-Bass pickups (the D-G PU being on the neck side - like Yamaha did it on the BB300, e.g.), you can place the E-A pickup exactly in it's original Fender position. This is actually also good for a more even tone. TIP2: With the reduced string spacing of the Sterling bass (> Jazz Bass like neck), I put the Fender Pickups in a little slanted, so the strings really run dead center between the poles.

    Great review. Once again you have taken a unique perspective that I have not heard before. Now I feel like I know WHY everyone seems to love this bass. My cat has bombed my business phone calls in the past so this video resonated with me from that perspective also. Why do they do that?

  • @suxcawks
    @suxcawks 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I think the issues of neck dive and right arm comfort are solved by wearing your strap a little higher. I just got this bass and it doesn't fall at all. Also because the body is so thin my right arm wraps around it well and doesn't rub on the edge.

  • @bassclefconnoisseur
    @bassclefconnoisseur 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    So nobody has claimed their upright yet I see 🤔. That's convenient for you. I would also suggest your videos would sound more adult-like if you didn't drop the f-bomb all the time? I'm not a square or anything but you want to cater to all demographics, don't you? Just some constructive criticism. Buttercream is one of my favorite as well

    • @sethbrown8912
      @sethbrown8912 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Agree on the language. Lose the naughty words and let more of the unique and attractive personality come through. I've seen other channels suffer because of this (I'm thinking of a particular luthier). It's hard to share a video full of great stuff with someone else, especially a younger player, when it's got rough language in it. The Floof perspective is much like many bass players and not like other TH-camrs in that Floof doesn't have an unlimited budget. He thinks about, "What if I have to sell this later?", "How can I get the most quality and flexibility for my money" etc. Other toobers mention this but Floof is living it (at this time). More Floof, less F*** and S***. Great stuff Floof. All the best to you!

    One thing P-Basses have which other basses lack is simpicity. There is no elaborate active circuitry, preamps, batteries, EQ controls and the like. It's just a single pickup, volume tone and jack. That also makes them easier to mod.

    P bass is all I know. I started with a squire 60s P that was great at the time but mediocre compared to my Fender vintera I 50s p bass, I got a good price for it right before the vintera II came out. That single bass has given me the sounds I want, and I don't think I could bring myself to use anything else, although I do want to try a jazz or stingray at some point.

    Are my eyes deceiving me or do those knobs that are loose have set screws in them?

    • @floofthebassplayer
      @floofthebassplayer 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You are correct! They do have set screws in them, however they don't sit 100% perfect on the shaft and with enough use come loose. I've had this happen twice after using the bass a ton. I've started carrying a small flathead screwdriver because of it... However I have heard some locktight does solve the issue so it's far from a deal breaker.

    Chewed out by a beaver! 😂 I’ve been playing bass for almost 40 years, I bought one of these, not because it’s a great playing instrument, because I wanted to experiment with modding a bass. I’d rather trash one of these instead of a quality bass, so this is a good bass for learning, if you want to learn be a luthier. You didn’t mention the pickups, while functional they have maybe 10 winds around the barely magnetic poles. Definitely not quality and I would recommend a Squire or and Ibanez for a beginner bass. Glarry and the other cheap ones you can buy are not cheap after you upgrade them to make them playable. But I’d still rather trash one of these learning to mod over another brand. Good honest video!👍

    I have a G1xFour that I hacked to be a B1xFour when I switched over to bass as my main instrument. Even better, someone's compressed a bunch of the effects so you can fit more on, and I could keep soem guitar stuff. I'm honestly very impressed with it's Darkglass and SVT emulations. The quality of the effects goes up and down - a lot of them are only "okay" but there's some gems in there for sure.
