Most of us are clueless on the efficiency of freight trains. In the US, for instance, freight trains can move one ton of goods approximately 470 miles on a single gallon of fuel, compared to trucking's approximately 134 miles per gallon of diesel. This makes rail three to four times more fuel-efficient than trucks. (That's an average)

Both military trains had equipment from Tennessee Army National Guard; Regional Support Squadron; 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment returning from XCTC (exportable Combat Training Capability) Annual Training to prepare its Task Force for overseas mission @ Fort Cavazos, TX which ran from June 01-23, 2024 @ Fort Cavazos, TX. Both are most likely heading to Fort Campbell, KY to unload then road march to home bases.

I’ve been trying to search for the remaining Santa Fe warbonnets dash 9s but now I know now that all of them won’t be on mainline freights anymore and I’m trying to speak to the Railfan community on TH-cam if one of them can Rescue a Santa Fe warbonnet dash 9 and put it in a museum before they Scrap them but I thank God that I caught 3 or 4 Santa Fe dash 9s warbonnets in the last years before this news happened about the Warbonnets left 😢 ❤
