I'm a DIYer who is invested in a few different real estate ventures. I do most of the work myself and I created this space to share some of that work. Some remodeling, some STR trials and tribulations, and some landlord stuff. Everything that goes along with my real estate world. I'm not a contractor, but do take pride in my work. I may not always do it perfect, but it gets done, so don't judge me for my mistakes. Learning every day, so positive feedback is always welcome. The name "De-hovelizer" came from a friend of mind that always repeated the word "hovel" the way it was used in Harlem Knights. One day he said "You be de-hovelizing the hovel". So I am now the "De-hovelizer" of all things.

There is a bunch of outside renovations going on at our Vacation Short Term Rental(STR). So I took the opportunity to make some noise on the inside as well. Initial walkaround of the original "Hovel". It's in bad shape and will need a whole lot of work. Everything from foundation, roof, full electric, all the plumbing,...you name it. Tiling the backsplash in quadplex apartment building

Time lapse tiling the kitchen backsplash as part of our renovation. This is the last apartment of a quadplex we purchased. Reconnecting the water heater back up in the last unit of our quadplex.

We had to disconnect the hot water heater to replace some old metal pipes. Now it's back in place and has to be connected. Just a quick time lapse. This is the 4 unit we had to do this in since we purchased this property, so I was pretty quick with this one.
