You should have shown your work! No one comes to YouTUbe to watch a "how-to" video that doesn't show the steps.

You are missing a CRITICAL steps in this process. You need to put your car in Maintenance Mode before doing anything! This isn't mentioned in the video and has cost me over $900 and I am still waiting to get the codes all cleared. Also, if your breaks are really low the caliper will lock up and a mechanic has a tool that must be used to release them. If this tool isn't used and you take the caliper off yourself, you will have to purchase a new one.

I wish I would have found this video before I took all my super human strength and snapped the handle right off the door. I'll be searching for that repair video next. Thank you for the quick fix once I have a working handle. 😂

Beware…for anyone considering using this mount for a bike rack. A 200 lb rating is at the end of the hitch. You must add roughly 23 lbs per inch as you lengthen the leverage point, which is about 18”! Do the math. A rack alone exceeds the limit. I installed a curt class 1 for 2 bikes. I suppose it will be ok if I am careful. Just a heads up!

By watching this video, I have zero confidence I can do this job on my own. It is actually scaring me and making me pay the mechanic, whatever amount he will ask me for. Thanks for trying to help, but this is not helpful in almost all of it.

I have a handicap van and the cable broken 3 times in 2years it’s very expensive to get it fixed since it’s connected to the ramp please tell me if we can put a cable and motor in the door and separate it from the ramp so the cable problem can be solved, please help I am stranded without the handicapped van.

I wanted to finish this job faster but I decided to soak the egr cooler overnight it is a must to get rid of the carbon buildup. I am cleaning all of them right now as all have plenty of carbon. I have 243k and the car was running excellent and just like that in seconds everything changed,very rough running and misfire codes. I hope this egr shit system was the issue. The egr system the way is built is just terrible!

Anyone else find a huge pool of engine oil in the intake manifold below the throttle body? My PCV valve, hose and overall intake manifold was a disaster. Next time I do an oil change I’m going to reduce the amount of oil I replace from 4.4-4.1 quarts with the hope to stop the PCV system sucking oil. God what a bad PCV design on this model. If it doesn’t work I guess I’ll install an oil catch can. On the other hand the EGR system cleaning has the engine running amazing again. 2012 V with 123K.

Thanks , good video . Wire brush the bracket and caliper before you re install. Lube the 7mm Allen pins before install.

You did it wrong. The hitch is supposed to go between the frame and the exhaust mount/tow point.

Just to share some tech data. The 1mz-fe radiator fan should kick on at 195.8deg F for a few seconds. And turns off when temp drop back down to 194. If lower radiator hose is cold or just warm thermostat most likely stuck closed. Temp switches may not activate to turn rad fan on because they're on radiator and/or thermostat housing and radiator coolant will stay relatively low while engine coolant is overheated due to no coolant circulation from a stuck closed thermostat.

Maybe you're not intending this video for the novice and maybe this repair is way over my head. But you really don;t show how to do this at all. You are saying what you are doing but you're not actually showing what you are doing up close so i have 0 confidence to do this repair after watching this video.

i have sporadic overheating. random. unpredictable. changed water pump, thermostat, temperature sensor, same. no dtc. engine runs smooth, no white cloud out of the exhaust. every once in a while, the red overheating light comes on, flash, disappears. this is associated with a splash of coolant from the overflow to the firewall. sometimes is so bad, that splashes on the driveshaft, then on the passenger side tire and doors. coolin system pressure test: pressure is stable at 12 psi. exhaust in liquid test: negative. what are we missing? smn suggested there is air lock in the coolant and i need to apply vacuum to remove the air bubble. dealers told me they can take my money for diagnostics, but they do not guarantee they will find anything. especially with no dtc... any idea.

Or it possible lerean throttel body without diagnostic tool?
