    Just found this video and it is very descriptive. Good job! I have a 2002 Sienna with 270,000 miles that I just picked up for $800. It seems to run just fine right now but I am probably the 3rd or 4th owner and have no idea when the last time this job was done. Currently there are no oil or coolant leaks. I just have to decide if I want to tackle this job myself. To have a shop do this job would be more than I paid for the van. Thanks again!

      Great to hear! At the price you got it for I would want to save as much as possible in repairs, so give it a shot!

    Hey I’m planning to take this project on, with my 2003 Avalon, one question however, can I replace the water pump without removing that cover under the camshaft, great walkthrough by the way

    I have a 2001 Toyota Avalon xl I’m having overheating problems I’ve already changed the thermostat and radiator cap and both temperature sensor but my needle still runs to the max and my reservoir keeps coming off while I drive can you please make a video for me solving this problem

    • @stevensautomotiveexperience
      @stevensautomotiveexperience  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If I ever get an avalon with the same problems I sure will, but in the meantime you need to find out the source of your overheating issue. Check your fans, make sure you bled the cooling system real well, could be a possible bad cylinder head gasket. Thanks for watching!

    Only tip that I would recommend you doing is actually investing in a Milwaukee M18 impact that way you don't have to use the chain ranch and you can just zip it off

      Angel, I do own a cordless impact I just wanted to give the viewers an idea on how to do it with just hand tools. Thanks for watching!

    Wrong position on video the belt guide, facing the cup side toward the engine front.

    It's good practice to use a tiny amount of lubricant to put the new oil seals in on the outer of the new seals. Also its good practice to check timing marks with top dead centre on cylinder number one before installing the new timing belt and camshaft sprockets,if the cams moved slightly the timing will be out of sync. It's a fail-safe way of making sure everything is lined up,and check the old timing belt with new one for exact markings-some of the aftermarket brands timing belts I've noticed can be slightly out. I recommend using Aisin water pump kit as it's a oem toyota approved kit.

    Is this an interference engine or non-interference?
    I’m considering purchasing an Avalon with a broken timing belt but I won’t even consider if that means the WHOLE engine needs replacing

    Even with power ratchets this job on 1mfze takes like 5 hours minimum for most pros. Hmmm
    Like the video anyways.
