I think every team has an equal chance to sign Sasaki but it’s gonna come down to development like you said. I would love to see him sign with the Rays. Rays have always been great at developing their young pitchers. Would be a great landing spot for him until he hits free agency in 6 years.

The front office has tried to make to the team better but are making all wrong moves. Spending money on the wrong players. They haven’t given us anything to be excited about since signing Shohei Ohtani 7 years ago.

Dumb. They make it to the promise land the first time in decades and you act like you know baseball and your usually underachieving team. 😅

@@JB_2741 At age 32, the contract doesn’t look appealing but he is a 4 time All-Star, 2018 Champion and a big presence in that line up. If the Padres win one World Series title with him, it’ll be all worth it. ($280 million, 11-year contract through 2033) 😬

@@realtalkbaseball4625 hey appreciate the response! Very tough…as I don’t think many teams will take. Either way, no one is just going to take on the contract. Me personally I’d try to give the Red Sox a call and see if they’d get him. Pay off some of the contract and trade him for some minor leaguers.

@@ohrodrigs7970The Mets also have multiple players that are past their prime. With the exception of a couple of them. Much different then the dodgers who are collecting prime hall of famers like they are pokemon.

Don’t be upset at the Dodgers organization for spending money on their brand. They are providing a product to their fans. These 29 billionaire owners can do the same but decide not to. The Yankees have been doing this for many years and no one had a problem with it. The Mets are spending a lot too and also paying deferred contracts like Bobby Bonilla every July 1st. It’s not ruining the game, it’s exposing owners like A’s owner John Joseph Fisher… Appreciate your comment and hope your team makes a big splash in free agency.

@@realtalkbaseball4625 I agree that other owners could do the same. However other organizations aren’t getting the insane revenue because of the market/ohtani. You have to think about all of the Japanese sponsors because of him. That along with how his contract is structured has set the dodgers up to be the golden state warriors of baseball. And I feel like I can speak for just about anyone that isn’t a dodgers fan in saying that sucks.
