On the brighter side, majority of people have the sense of feeling a presence around them even when there is no one around, so at times for example i too at times feel that, i see shadows and something passing by and they are ofc spirits. I think hotaru has such a close bound with him that even though she can no longer see him he is still there and she most likely still feels his presence after that day, most likely even hears him sometimes or see a faint reflection of him yk :]

The author also made another manga/anime called "Natsume Yuujincho". That's my favourite anime ever. This film based on oneshot manga. You will cry more when you read the extra chapter from Gin POV. Watching Natsume Yuujinchou make me thinking that Gin not "dead", more like passing. He's happy at last. Bittersweet ending felt worse than sad ending.
