Iam carpenter mam
Thats was good, informative, nice papce, but personally I would never run paper from the coving on a longer length, reason being if the coving is out or there is a curve in it, your paper will either follow it, possibly resulting in creases, gaps/laps along the top.
Hello how r u i from Bangladeshi you from
How not to hang a corner, !, See Aubrey’s video and his method which uses patterned paper. Just saying
Such a great teacher Julie, still watch your papering videos Leah 🤣
If training... Don't thing its wise to teach using papering brush up n down.. Side to side so they learn not to stretch matching paper when smoothing out.. Thats the habit to install regardless of what paper..
Thank you Julie.
Excellent. I like the star cut technique and the suggestion to align the edge to the middle of the rose is very handy. I hope it will be as straightforward as you make it look when I come to do it! Wish me luck!

Great channel, thank you.
Typical workshop setting. Thing don't work like this on site and that is why these youngsters run into problems when they get on site
I need this lady to do a mural on our ceiling and she sounds local to Hull??? Would be great if she’s available or has any great recommendations ❤
Great
Help.....I'm new to wallpaper and I need some advice. My woodchip went soft and wouldn't cut. It even tore when pasting . Regards Andy l
So glad you didn't mini roller the cutting in first. ❤
Hi LI P&D and very good video on how to paper with lining paper ,I was always taught if you can do a good job of lining paper with out ribbing it you will be O K when you start hanging pattern paper .All you need to do then is to learn the different pattern drops you have in papering .Regards Chris old school decorator 👍😁
Excellent instructional video...very succinct and to the point...very sure and steady hands...sometimes the best man for the job is a good woman...my hat's off to you...A job well done!
Ooh, thanks ever so - if you know, you know!
Not bad for your first ceiling
You should be able to paper around a ceiling rose and come from left to right if that was a patterned paper your in trouble and we call it a jocky❤
Woodchip wallpaper should be dumped in the nearest tip, the amount of hassle it creates when trying to remove, how about showing how to hang a modern pattered wallpaper around internal external corners.
👏👏👏🌹
Just found your channel yesterday, used loads since, thanks for your clear concise guides!!! X
Glad you like them!
Bro she ain’t teaching shit 😂😂
tried papering a ceiling once ( and got in over my head -lol) I didn't know about the "cruch". Fortunately my neighbor and her daughter were home and came and helped me and I got the job done. ( the paper design was like looking up through tree leaves at blue sky and light clouds )
Use a 4 inch mini roller No brush marks and way faster "}{":":}}
Great . What if you have 2 ceiling roses . Like a big lounge. And they don't measure up to equally to paper edge . Ie one does the other doesn't. Now what ?
That’s ok, you can use a full star cut instead of a half star cut
Can you stain after using this shellac or will it be to shiny?
No need to shellac before staining
This is a terrible video. That’s not how you do an outside corner- no corner is 100% plumb. You can’t just wrap it like that.
I agree they are not always plumb , although This is for our students in their cubicles which are .
Wow this is really easy to understand!! Thank you so much for sharing!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you :)
You're welcome!
Woodchip. Always gets painted. Its just a cheap way to cover imperfect walls...So dont be too fussy. It normally tears as its so thin.
I’m so confused, where i’m from orange peel or splatter texture is only used because it takes too much time to get drywall visibly flat. Didn’t know it even came in a texture
She not right pattern or plan always pumb
38yrs decorator never came across corner so perfect to go round in one no creases
Can a blade be used to cut woodchip paper?
It’s not recommended as it’s a pulp paper
Thanks 👍🏻
Welcome 👍
Thank you, this is very helpful and informative! I'm actually just about to start doing the ceiling and I had no clue how to do it properly before watching this video.
Glad it was helpful!
Painting decorating is a skilled trade 4 year apprenticeship and years after and still am learning always will be
I never go with the ceiling as it is never always accurate i walways go bye my spirit level and line, great work though.
Definitely a good tutorial on technique- but I had to check that it wasn’t 1983 - woodchip wallpaper- really? I thought we finally got rid of it all by 1993
Not according to city & guilds . It’s a great paper to test students on .
The best out of all vedio i have seen very good teacher
You make it look easy and it’s not , I know .
Excellent video, thanks!
Glad you liked it!
I'm sorry but this is so an unprofessional way to wallpaper round a window, you never ever patch in top reveal, you need to splice both ends of window and wrap paper round top reveal that way no patching and still on pattern.
Hi Kevin, this is a basic way for students to try on their first attempt .. we look at alternatives in L2 & L3
where can i buy a paste table like that its looks good
Hi Michael , We had them built in our joinery department I’m afraid.
all these armchair experts in the comments just fuck off
Need to paper my ceiling for the first time. Watched many how to videos. Yours is by far the best, well explained & easy to follow. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Perfectly explained thank you 😊
You’re welcome 😊
Simple enough, good demo. If I wanted to take that back to white (water base) would it need any special primer or could I just start top coating?
Abrade to remove the glaze using the wet and dry method ( see in another video) then undercoat to obliterate the colour
