Thanks ! I Was wondering about Satechi or OWC with SSD - > 4TB Kingston KC3000 or Lexar NQ790 or Crucial T705 (highPrice)
The moonlut outer case is quite a downgrade ....
Can you use it with android aute
As an owner of x100f, other than the price .. the reason why i still use my x100f is the dial pad. Its so confinient to have dial pad, i really dont get it why they get rid of it in v and vi
189€ is crazy for this, you can simply buy 30pin to usb c adapter and a Bluetooth adapter total for less than 30 and its reversible
What theme please
That is not a 7th gen bro… the 7th gen is space gray and 160 gig thin.
what
I used Rockbox on my Sandisk MP3 player back in 2011.
He says that use Rockbox... got it! :P
Is there a metal backing option ?
Sadly no
@@TechFi-te3ik do you think it would be posible to transfer the mods to the OEM metal back ?
@@abhithakur90 there are BT mods (not serially produced though) for iPods that had a plastic-covered cutout in the "thick" iPod backplate that allowed more space to fit in the BT transmitter (since thick backplates were slightly bigger and when you replaced the hard drive with SD cards you freed a lot of space). So I think its definitely doable. The only thinkg I'd worry is interference with the radio from BT because of the metal (that's why the mods I mentioned earlier had a plastic bit)
@ this gives me some confidence. The convenience of a plug n play mod is definitely something that I would prefer even if modding the backplate is more work. I will definitely try it on a worn out plate to see how much interference is there. Thank you
Great Linux distro comparison, you only skipped how to backup your current OSX. Thanks
Very stranger lens comparison, really... not very seriously. Back button straight away.. thanks ;)
It’s tempting but does it require manual pairing every time when i want to use bluetooth. Or does it auto connects if the bluetooth device once paired before?
Theoretically... if one was to get all the music production apps in the ios, including the plugins, could one turn this into a dedicated offline ios music production device, and store the songs created on this? Provided that that it could be maxed out at the 2 tb compacity limit?
Yeah, I don't know that I'm impressed that you have to glue the device back to gether.
Also curious if you can pair two of them to be walkie talkies?
Can you put shows and movies on this?
That's the big downside of the 6th gen and why I'm not going to bother upgrading mine. 120GB is nowhere near enough for me. 1TB is roughly where I am, and it's all due to .flac's.
I’d recommend nanos to someone that knows what they’re getting and what they intend to use it for
Great review. Lovely dogs!
I find I can't put a head phone jack all the way in or it only goes into one ear I'm not sure what the problem is
да лучше пластинку поставить чем таким дерьмом заниматься
I would tell anyone to avoid Moonlit, I bought their kit and had a problem with the audio jack. They took a week between responses, told me they were sending a replacement, and then didn't send it nor reply to me again.
Great job with this video, everything everyone wanted to see!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I daily drive a MacMini 2012 (i5, 16gb ram, 256gb SSD) with Linux Mint 21 installed. It runs better than MacOS or Windows 10 overall, and does everything I need. If you don’t have other iDevices to worry about syncing, it makes a great computer.
Yessss! 👏
Hello Mike: I have the exact same model of Mac Mini as you do and am in the process of installing Linux Mint and when the installation boots in to the Live environment the built-in WiFi device is not detected. If you are using the built-in WiFi device, how dod you get it to be detected by the Linux Mint installation process? Also, did it take 30 minutes to boot in the Live installation environment when you installed Linux Mint on your 2012 Mac mini?
mint 22 stopped working on this model
Would you recommend this over the Satechi?
Looking back now, id say yes! I like the copper cooling solution 😁
I have just seen a review of the DJI camera adaptor using the DJI Mic 2, which utilises the Sony hot shoe without the need for the cable, and seems to eliminate all the interference. While the Hohem will not fit, it is a useful alternative and points towards the possible cause of the Sony audio issues. th-cam.com/video/lhSkMpDW05c/w-d-xo.html
Maybe I'm a snob, but for $200usd you should definitely receive a METAL backing plate that doesn't overlap the front fascia of the ipod like this 3d print, and you shouldn't have to modify the battery. Everything should fit if it's being offered as a drop in plug and play diy. Charging premium prices for junk. I don't need bluetooth, haptic, or usb c that bad so I'll give this a miss and continue using 30 pin and aux cable lol.
The question is, does it disconnect randomly like most enclosures?
No it doesn’t
Can you use the USB-C port to plug to a USB-C DAC like an Apple dongle or a Chord Mojo 2?
No, you can't
@@TechFi-te3ik Good to know. That would be the ultimate for me.
@@shareclipsave you can use the 30 pin to aux out cable to the mojo..cable still exist just hard to find a good 1
Just perfect. To the point and so cleverly detailed. All info we need. 1001 thanks. GG !!!

Bro, After 3 months I commented on this video for the first time, I'm now trying and failing. Even thought I'm following every footstep of the "bulletproof" method. Please, help!! I did everything as you told, but when it comes to this part (11:10), that prompt doesn't show up. It doesn't tell me to press those buttons. It only says it's done and then it says "No partition found. Insert USB cable and fix it." on the iPod.
Hello. Can you tell me about your setup first? - What's your iPod model? - Do you use the hard drive, or you installed an SD card adapter? - What is the file system that your storage is formatted in?
@TechFi-te3ik hi. I got it working. I've got a 5.5 with SSD. I had to install the daily build and make sure to not install the themes as it was bugging. Also, that screen that prompts me to press and hold the 2 buttons never showed up. And it's fully working.
@@CeceliPS3 great! I'm glad it's done!
how is it holding up 7 months layer ? :)
Hey there! Thanks for checking in! It holds quite well, I still use it almost daily. I did review the Graugear USB4 enclosure for NVMe a couple of months ago that comes with a built-in fan - to be honest, I think the Graugear is a better deal, but I still am using Satechi because it does its job well.
@TechFi-te3ik Thank you so much sir. Much much appreciated 👍🏻
Excellent review! Thank you.
My pleasure! I am glad you enjoyed it and thank you for commenting!
Since yesterday i have the very same configuration (SN850X with Graugear) and I can confirm absolutely all of your measurements (same Benchmarks and Temperatures). I changed from a similar sized no-vent DeLock 40Gbps M.2 enclosure - due that the DeLock was just terrible in terms of Cooling Design - hitting 50degrees outside and inside even my SN850X throttling temperatures (85degrees plus!). It is astonishing how the enclosure products differ from each other. This Graugear Enclosure is with no question a double thumbs-up and recommendation to buy.
Thank you for your comment! I agree. If I chose now between the Graugear and Satechi (that I reviewed earlier), I'd keep Graugear :)
Basically the price of an iPod back in the day ($250). Not worth it, in my opinion. If you’re gonna go old school, go old school!
Thanks for the great video an explanation! I am thinking to trying it out for my MacBook M3. Cheers!
Glad it was helpful!
Hi, are you using OEM software or Rockbox?
Hi, in normal life i use normal iPod firmware
Perfect review
Thanks!
Question: when applying the thermal tape. Do you peel both sides of the tape and then close the lid so pure thermal paste makes contact on all sides?
Sorry for the late comment, but yes!
@@TechFi-te3ik I just found out that after you peel both sides that only 1 sidewill be sticky. sticky side goes to the SSD and smppth goes to lid. stuick it to the SSD first.
@ I also learned that the gooey side goes to the SSD and the smoother side goes to the lid and that is critical to execute

kernel 6.11 does not work on this cpu
I am currently trying to install linux mint mate on my mid 2011 mbair. Whenever i am past the point of selecting the keyboard it tells me that i need more than 8gb storage to install linux. My installation medium is 8gb. Harddisk is 120gb. But its not able to find the built in SSD. Also cannot change any settings in GNU grub at startup. Any suggestions how to make progress from here? Normally this is a 5 min job but apparently not with this mb air. In some forums i have seen that turning off secure boot and EHCI helps. But as said. Cant change anything
