SPIROMAX SILO UNLOADER - Center Fill Distributor
The Spiromax Silo Unloader has an option for center fill silos - a distributor to evenly disperse silage as the silo is filled is now available. This video is of a Spiromax Unloader positioned at the top of a 20' diameter silo distributing corn silage as the silo is filled. The silage enters the center fill chute of the silo and is distributed along the outside edge of the silo allowing for even delivery and more complete compaction of silage.
The SPIROMAX Silo Unloader -
Our patented design eliminates the need for a collector ring, blower and discharge chute found on traditional unloaders. Silage is gathered by the pick-up auger, transferred to the vertical auger where it is moved onto a belt conveyor from which it is discharged out of the silo.

Sure beats the days when i had to throw silage down by hand with a fork.
Nice retro fit heard you are installing a 30 ft unloader looks good
Thanks Karen! A retrofit is a great way to reduce costs of an unloader upgrade. You can save time and money and still get a new unloader! If the customer chooses this option - and if the existing hardware can be used - we will install the main Spiromax Unloader components into the support structure of the unloader we are replacing as seen in this video. Yes, we do have a Spiromax Unloader booked for installation in a 30' diameter silo mid May.
Wow - Interesting camera perspective! The unloader really chews through the relatively dry haylage...how can I get more info?
Yes, LOL - the camera guy really got into his work on this video! The Spiromax Silo Unloader is manufactured by Rissler Unloader in New Enterprise, PA. For more information you can reach us at 814-766-3168. Thank you for your interest!
Can these unloaders be run with a funnel and plastic chute?
Yes. A plastic chute liner and funnel can be used with the Spiromax Silo Unloader. Discharge rates may need adjusted to facilitate optimum performance. For more information kindly contact us at Rissler Unloader, 814-766-3168. Thank you for your interest in our unloaders.
What diameter is the silo? What diameter silo can the unloader operate in?
This video shows the Spiromax Unloader working in 20' diameter silo. We have unloaders in silos ranging in size from 14' to 24' in diameter and we recently designed the hexapod to allow us to put our unloader in a 30' diameter silo. Thank you for your interest and should you want additional information contact us at: Rissler Unloader 814-766-3168.
I could see that unloader working way better in haylage than one with a blower.
This unloader can move a lot of haylage - we have a video on this channel showing one of our unloaders working in a silo of Triticale Haylage. Thanks for your interest!
How can I get more information about this unloader?
The Spiromax Silo unloader is manufactured by Rissler Unloader in New Enterprise, PA. You can contact us directly at 814-766-3168.
By the looks of the loaded conveyor at the end of the video it looks like this unloader delivers consistent silage discharge
Looks like it makes quick and easy work moving the haylage
That looks easy enough! Thanks for the demonstration!
Thank you for your interest in our unloader!
Its putting out!
Ah! I was wondering if that was the way it worked! Pretty cool.
Do you have a video showing and explaining how to move it down a door or two and a closeup of how the augers move the silage to the conveyor ?
What size motor does it use?
The motor on the unloader in this video is 10 HP and the motor on the belt conveyor is 1 HP - combined they were operating at no more than 30 amps at any time. For more information on the Spiromax Silo Unloader you can contact the manufacturer - Rissler Unloader - at 814-766-3168.
Climb silo once a month maybe. Instead once a week swesome
Let’s see a video of it in haylage?
New video being uploaded will show the Spiromax Unloader working in a silo of Triticale Haylage. For more information on the Spiromax Unloader you can contact the manufacture directly: Rissler Unloader 814-766-3168.
Whats the cost compared to a valmetal?
The costs are comparable to the Valmetal. Where savings can be found is in the retrofit of existing hardware such as the ring drive and other framework. Thank you for your interest!
How well does it work in haylage?
The Spiromax Unloader works well with haylage but does use more power to do so. Our studies have found it has better overall performance in haylage than traditional blower style unloaders. And with the new Auger discharge version now available the efficiencies are even more noticeable - videos coming soon. For more information about the Spiromax silo unloaders contact us at: Spiromaxunloader@gmail.com or call us at: Rissler Unloaders (814) 766-3168.
Finally a better way to get feed out of a silo. I may have kept using tower silos if I had that unloader in ours. We always had trouble getting haylage to blow out the silo,it would always land in front of the door and unloader would get caught when it got to the door.
From a guy who’s been up in way too many silos for frozen and broken down unloaders, why the conveyor instead of a blower chute? It sure seems like one more major thing to break down, wear out and freeze in winter.
Thank you for your comment. When designing the Spiromax unloader our initial goal was to create an unloader to deliver higher volumes of feed while utilizing less energy. We succeeded with the vertical lift auger system at the heart of our unloader. Once we proved we could move large amounts of silage quickly and with energy efficiency we needed a way to discharge it out of the silo. Leaning on our decades of experience in building and supplying various types of conveyor systems we decided to first use something we know quite well - the Rissler Belt Conveyor. But, your point is well taken in the potential issues in using something as complex as a belt conveyor to consistently discharge the large volume of silage the gathering auger and vertical auger are capable of moving. So, to address the difficulties a belt conveyor discharge system may present we decided to eliminate the belt conveyor and incorporate A THIRD AUGER and use this as the discharge system! That’s right we have finished prototype testing on the latest design that uses an AUGER DISHCARGE SYSTEM in that an auger manufactured with stainless-steel flighting encapsulated in a stainless-steel auger trough is now available. Our system now utilizes three augers - the gathering auger, vertical lift auger and a discharge auger. Stay tuned for videos of the new system to be uploaded soon! PS - we also did not give up on the belt conveyor…we redesigned the old version and came up with a simpler version of the belt conveyor that should eliminate some concern of potential issues like constant breakdowns or freezing in winter months…more to come!
What's the diameter of this silo?
This silo is 24' in diameter.
What’s the capacity of this unloader?
The unloader in this video is moving ~1,000 lbs per minute (corn sileage). The rate per minute will vary on the material, diameter of silo, etc.
Do you have dealers in Wisconsin?
Brubacker Ag Equipment (715-613-7308) is currently a dealer for the Rissler Spiromax Silo Unloader in Wisconsin. Thank you for your interest.
