New Bike Day - YT Jeffsy Primus 24
New bike day is always exciting but when you are 7 and get your first full suspension ride it's even more so! The YT Jeffsy Primus 24 is a good overall package, has a lighter overall weight than most 24" full suspension bikes, and made an immediate impact on going up, down, over and jumping.
My son was about 4" under the recommended length when he started riding it. We definitely recommend the bike sand would buy it again. The only issues we ran into has been a clutch failure on the derailleur (YT replaced it with an upgraded GX derailleur) and getting full travel out of the front fork.

Whitewater SUP on Snoqualmie River from Plum River Access Point
มุมมอง 8624 ปีที่แล้ว
This was our first time ever going whitewater SUP. We launched on the Snoqualmie River from Plum River Access pPoint and first played around in the eddy trying to decide if we could actually make it down the first rapids. It was raining a little, the water was 48F, and the flow 4,200 CFS so the river was quite intimidating. We finally made it down the rapid paddling on our knees. The 1-2 foot w...

Standup Paddleboarding (SUP) the Snoqualmie River from Chinook Bend Natural Area to Duvall on a beautiful April day. The river was full of rainwater from 3-4 days of hard rain and very cold (45-50F). The entire paddle is 20km (12.5 miles) and took us ~2.5hrs. The first 3km the current was fast and fun but it mellowed out the rest of the way.

    Helpful, I ordered some HH66 glue and thinner to give this a shot after a local shop told me my board is “unrepairable.” It’s a Body Glove SUP and while the board is awesome, the factory glue job was total trash. So, a lot of cleanup at various places but I think it’s possible.

    Trying this on a paddle board I got for free with a ripped seam. I let the glue sit for about 3 minutes but didn’t test it to see if it got tacky, and I applied a liberal amount. I hope it works! If not I’ll have to try again!!

      That’s an excellent question and something I am trying to figure out myself. Unfortunately I don’t have a great answer as I’ve never done it. But, I am thinking about trying with acetone. As long as you can open up a space between the layers you may be able to use acetone to loosen up the old glue. Just be careful not to let it sit on too long. Good luck!

    IMHO a tear like that is a factory problem and the vendor should sort out a new one. I bought a damn expensive top of the range Starboard Astro 10yr ago and it never held its PSI. Despite complaining to the vendor it would a cost a fortune to return and get a new one shipped out (only if they found an actually problem) Few years after lots of frustrations… blow out. Massive tear in the seam. Pissed me off.

    For anyone attempting repair, LET THE GLUE SIT. It's gotta get tacky. I have been trying to patch a hyplaon sup/boat and it's been a huge pain. But the best results have been with very detailed prep as shown in the video, and waiting for the glue to get tacky and dry a bit before clamping. I applied it too thicc and wet and it didn't dry.

    It looked like you connected the adapter to a pistol-grip tire inflator (like harbor freight central pneumatic?) that has a PSI gauge already. Was that fairly accurate? did anyone hear that it wasnt good to use compressors due to the moisture that gets put into the inside of the paddle board? Something like its not good for the inside to have moisture?

    • @campbikeski
      @campbikeski 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are correct, compressors do generate moist air. Using the hand pump or a 12V SUP pump is probably better. But, is it bad for board? Using the compressor is probably similar to using your mouth to blow up an inflatable sleeping mattress. Moisture could lead to mold and while not desirable I’m not sure it will impact the functionality of the board. I’ve been using the compressor for the past 2 seasons and leave the boards inflated for most of the summer. When I empty them I’ll leave them out for a day with the valve open. I could not tell you if that makes a difference or not.
