Correct me if I'm wrong. Just want to make it clear: 1) The Normal Release Procedure which starts at 1:50 in this video is "OFF-LOAD RELEASE"? 2) The Emergency Release Procedure at 3:05 is "ON-LOAD RELEASE"? Does all conventional davit-launched lifeboats have both On-load and Off-load release?

i dont get it sir, u r keeping this pen and telling it represent the general direction of buoys, and for outbound vessel u r just reverting that direction of pen which one of ur student dare to ask, what does it mean .......u should explain it first .........what is the meaning of direction of buoys and what is the significance of it, and what do we men by inbound and outbound vessel. from the best of my knoweledge it is not the way it is. please crosscheck it what u r explaining.

There are many mistakes... i would like to clear a one of them..@33:30, Rule 18 applies everywhere, however it is modified by duty of "not to impede" vessels in Rule 10 (fishing,sailing, pdv <20m). A CBD vessel is not specifically referred to in R10, therefore you are required not to impede as per R18. A/c to stb or slow down is correct answer. ( My advice? at OOW LEVEL, avoid slowing down in these situation as alterations are best defined in rules itself. Not every MCA surveyor appreciate slowing down action). Between CBD on port, and a PDV following the lane, PDV is a stand on vessel at any given time as at the end a CBD is a PDV by default. However, CBD vessel will expect a PDV to give way, here rule 8 comes into play. With Respect To R8f, remember : R8fi - early R8fii - always (required not to impede) and aware (of possible action of other vessel) R8fii - CBD vessel is still OBLIGED to comply with rules. So in example above , although you are in a TSS you are still required not to impede safe passage of CBD (8fii), and the CBD is still the give way vessel (8fiii).
so whats the correct answer for that if the CBD is in port? Alter course to starboard?
8F III is not only for CBD ... It's for the vessel whose passage is not to impeded.
