No, I just design 3D printed cassette player. It's using an existing cassette mechanism, but the new concept is that users can customize its colors freely. You can order the product with any colors for each parts such as buttons, body and front panel 😀

Hi, thank you for your comment! In fact, it records sounds by analog voice recorder chips. It records sounds without analog to digital conversion, there is no bit depth concept. But about the sampling frequency (in time axis), it's 12kHz and very lo-fi.

The reward on kickstarter campaign is about $120 for standard kit without 3D printed part. It includes cassette mechanism, assembled PCB, Li-po battery, test cassette for tape speed adjustment and screws. Actually, It using chinese off the shelf auto reverse mechanism.

Hi, actually it uses Chinese off the shelf auto-reverse mechanism. The main concept of this project is making a fashionable cassette player. So, I focus on how users can assembled it securely and easily. I think the sound quality is good enough, but, of course can't compare with Hi-fi product in the 80s. It's a kit so you can improve or modify it 😊

This prototype uses mono playhead. But if the Kickstarter campaign will succeed, I will update it with stereo head 😊

Yeah, and most of vintage walkmans use disposable batteries. If those have rechargeable batteries, I think they are expired. This FABcassette comes with Li-Po rechargeable battery and you can use long time😊
