@@GeoffMcDonald I hear you ... and have a different experience. I found that the deadline crystallised my thinking and work from the previous 5 years. I didn't procrastinate because I didn't have the time. I had hyper focus. In thinking back, it's almost as if I got out of the way of the process, stopped letting Imposter Syndrome get in the way, and accessed what I knew worked.

@@suzannemercier I think we're agreeing here - yes, it can be done (I've done it several times myself) but I think this is the exception to the rule.

@@GeoffMcDonald Interesting. It's always been my go to because I tend to procrastinate. Setting a deadline forces my focus. It's pretty intense. Perhaps investigating other ways to see if there's one I can replace the deadline with ... would be a good idea 😄

Yep, that's it Philippe. Books take time and it's the effort over time that matters. Consistency IS the key.

Yep, that’s me. And remember you can only focus on one thing at a time and do lose some momentum every time you switch. That’s not to say it can’t work, just be aware of the downside - keep dreaming!

Thanks for your thoughts and advice. While I admit I am an ex-architect and not overly practical, it's not me cutting the bread. Definitely not the best way to do it though.

@@GeoffMcDonald Oh! Thought to make joke. Because I recall hearing the mention of making sourdough. That bread cutting scene really had me on the edge of my seat, holding my breathe, white knuckling it. LOL. So good.

@@Return2Self Yep, I've had a couple of goes at making sourdough but they all went mouldy - not sure what I did wrong - and they never made it to the baking or cutting stage.
