Tumeli Tuqota Showreel 2024
It's been some time since I've updated my animation show reel, so seeing as I've done some pretty cool stuff over the past few years, it seems only right to share it with you!
This time round I've decided to include animation from my two animated short films because why not, it's awesome, I worked with some amazing Fiji talent, and I want to showcase it all 🙂
You can view most of the videos in the show reel on my website www.tuqota.com… See more

Our stories were written in songs and chants, dances, which were powerful and sung at particular notes/octaves at a certain frequency, like E#, etc., and body-marking tattoos on bodies for mapping & heritage passed down from gens; unfortunately, the coming of western colonizers & religion forbade the practice, murdered our people, and declared these customs evil cult practices. We were never cannibals, as portrayed by the early westerners; we were an intelligent and practical race in our culture. Many of these evidences are kept abroad in private museums and hidden from the public. You may say this sounds ridiculous, but that's how a country is colonized by westerners. I have a question: how do you think our ancestors (Austranesians) the Lapita people first NAVIGATED found their way into the South Pacific over 5,000 yrs ago?

Cultural heritage version is interesting. For example; deities/gods for all things; such as farming, fishing, weather etc. Please share evidences of these spirits; such as Daucina, the moving light on the coastal areas? Could you please further the research to the originality of this cultural heritage since wave of migration from Nile region/Eastern Africa

Thank you for your content brother. Those are genuine information and needs to be filtered down through generation's because western influences are taking over our country like a plague, and if we do not keep our history intact and without being directed to the right path our future generations will be lost in time without knowledge of who we really are..

I know very little of my own fijian heritage and fully appreciate this on so many levels. My mother's Saurara family connection are from Suva I know and the small village Langere❤. My Grandfather I was a chief who turned down the role apparently tly reasons being corruption he knew. I have been told of the " witchcraft " side of things and watching this it was so good hear the traditions of the purest forms of spiritual tradition. My mother told me Kava was not suppose to be a social everyday or so I'll hangout as it evokes spirits that can come through based on the value or la k of. Great to know the was a wide variety of tribes who viewed kava diffently. The chewing of the root in some tribes reminds me of souh American forest tribes who knew the same " chewing of their special plant root that would invoke deep connections to the " otherside". ❤Venaka Vaka Levu
