Liebeslied (love song) by Johann Kaspar Mertz on an original 19th century guitar. Getting into the Valentine’s Day spirit a little bit early! Sorry for the guitar faces, haha. Kapsberger - Toccata V for theorbo

Had a moment with my theorbo this morning. This 14-stringed baroque bass lute is a replica of a 17th century instrument, built for me by Mel Wong. Hope I’m doing it justice!

Napoleon Coste, Etude 1, Op 38. Replica of Coste’s 19th century Lacote “Heptacorde” (7-string guitar) by Alan Perlman. I haven’t posted music in a while. It’s partially because I’ve been working on an album, but also partially me trying to work through a bit of a rut and some burnout. Here’s me getting back to it! #coste #napoleoncoste #19thcenturyguitar #romanticguitar #victorianmusic #victori...
Black Gold with Jesse Loren Strickman (Soul Asylum cover)

@JesseLorenStrickman and I play one of my favorite 90s songs! I forgot to post this when we recorded it months ago. But since we have a show coming up at 7 pm on Saturday, December 3 at "Would You Believe?" in SF, now's a great time! This song still feels all too relevant with record oil profits as climate disaster looms...sorry to be a downer...maybe the song will lift your spirits!
Queen Elizabeth’s Galliard - John Dowland

Queen Elizabeth’s Galliard - John Dowland I have been experimenting with playing thumb out (or something closer to it) in Dowland (as we know Dowland played thumb out). I’m starting to feel ok about the results. Hope you enjoy!

Renaissance guitar built by Dan Larson. This piece from 1550s Paris fascinates me! How did this little sequence of chords come out of that era?!?!
Anonymous/Lully: Baroque Guitar Suite in G
มุมมอง 7072 ปีที่แล้ว
Here's an obscure baroque guitar suite in G consisting of an anonymous (as far as I know...) Prelude, Allemande, and Gigue, and a Menuet by Lully. It's been a very busy start to the new year, and I haven't had much of a chance to make videos. Here's to things settling a bit and sharing more lovely, rarely heard music with the world! I came across the Tree Edition facsimile of this source earlie...
Beethoven Waltz, Anh 14, on Two Guitars
มุมมอง 5502 ปีที่แล้ว
A lovely Waltz attributed to Beethoven, arranged for terz guitar and standard guitar in the 19th century by Alexandre Heeser. I am grateful to Zachary Donaldson for playing this piece with me. He's playing an original 19th century guitar, and I'm playing a replica of a terz guitar by Justin White. I hope you enjoy!

Pobre hombre como sufre
The constant movement of your head and the facial expression is a considerable distraction from the nice playing. You're not a dancer. You're a musician, so work to focus that energy into the playing. You get a nice tone with no nails. Keep it up.
Lovely tone! It would be nice if you could tell us how it felt by you to play without nails, what prompted you to try this (accident or purpose), and your thoughts/recommendations. Thanks!
Hi. You play beautiful. What a beautiful piece of music. Take Care. 😊
Jon, I'm a big fan of your playing. Still, I wonder if Capricho Arabe is the right choice for this guitar, especially with no nails. It's a bravura piece. You play it brilliantly, but I wonder if something more Giulian--ish might not compliment that instrument more?
@@jeffreyarmbruster4670 Torres replica. Far more appropriate for Tarrega than Giuliani. But honestly it’s the closest thing to a modern classical that I was playing at the time.
Что за лилипутская гитара для маленьких деток?
Magnifico!!!
Thank you 🙏 It's great pleasure!
Beautiful!
Thank you!
0:42 I noticed your facial expressions changed, does this part evoke sadness?
1:38 smooth clip transition, well played 😊
Nice Jon, Sweet instrument😊
Awesome!
Wonderful sounds Jon 🙂
Great performance!
Bella pieza. Magníficamente ejecutada.
Beautiful Jon☺
Beautiful! Thank you Jon.
❤
Been a drummer my whole life. Rhythms have always come easy to me but I've always envied guitarists and my friends who could play. After 25 years I finally bought my first guitar. If I could ever be half as good as you my musician life would be complete. Thank you for the beautiful and inspiring pieces you share friend. 🙏
Amazing
Wow very good! Look forward to hearing more...
Beautiful playing.
Amazing sound coming out of that little guitar. 👍 I'm guessing it's a Jellinghaus Torres 77 with a string length around 24.5 inches.
Love it
Waaauw
What strings are you using? What would you recommend for a guitar if I also play without nails?
Sounds much better than expected! Also, excellent playing.
Awesome
Brilliant 😊😊 😊
Beautiful !
It's this simple. In 10 years, you have gone from being a "long haired punk of a guitar player" to looking like a "C.P.A. who plays the guitar". :). However, your playing is still absolutely superb. :) Bravo. :) Antoine
Beautiful playing and a nice find this Giuliani piece!
Awesome!
LINDA GUITARRA PERO MEJOR EL GUITARRISTA,PRECIOSA VERSIÓN...ABUSA UN POCO DE LOS GLISANDOS.
You made the note from a different fret on the 2nd to last note, according to the score which I have. It's French tab, and may not be correct, but on my score, the 2nd to last note is 4th course 1st fret, which is impossible to play without releasing the other fingers and destroying the sustain of the penultimate chord. I find your solution a great improvement, but I wonder if it is written that way in your score, or if you decided to change the music there? Thanks again for your beautiful playing.
Hello, I have a question, do you record with an external microphone or with phone? PD: Great playing as always
Awesome! Where did you buy this instrument?
Is this string from animal (sheep) gut ?
Magnifique J'aimerais me procurer la tablature.
I just watched the video from the "fine string instruments"-shop you playing die David Rubio lute. That was the most beautiful interpretation of Weiss dminor prelude I've ever listened to👍
Amazing tone, it has all the timbre i would want expect from playing with nails, without the high maintenance of keeping long nails. What guitar is that?
Beautiful playing. Wonderfully expressive performance.
❤
One of my favorites, sounds great!
I'm happy to see (and hear) Jon posting more music. Neat guitar, BTW...
Very nice group of players and pieces. I need to learn more about your team of artists. TH-cam Music at your service, Kade.
Very nice! Is that you own arrangement of the Sanz and/or is it published?
What was you tuning?
