Gordie never played 82 games in a season a single time and only reached 80 games once at the age of 51 after playing 419 games in the WHA. Most of his career the NHL only played 70 games. He's still the longest serving professional hockey player IMO with Jagr being a close second.

i feel like Russian NHL performance is overrespected, esp compared to US NHL performance. the US list is better than this by a lot. And yes Russia only broke in at basically 1990, but US hockey players as we know them didn't really start till the 80s, so it's only a head start of a decade or less than a decade. Panarin and Kuch will bolster this obviously. but the US will also be having a bunch of current guys enter onto their top 10, if they stay healthy.

The only thing more impressive than Gretzky hitting 1000 points in only 424 points is him hitting his next 1000 points in almost the same number of games (433 games). Fastest and also the 2nd fastest 1000 points in history. Lemieux has the 3rd fastest.

I want to see one with the WHA included, that puts Gordie Howe as the all time professional goal leader at 975, as the record should be.

Gretzky just casually beats Lemieux by 215 points through their first 500 games by scoring 1102 points in those first 500 games. Gretzky’s thinking: “No big deal. A 215 point difference is only a season for me.” Proceeds to score another 1,755 points (more than Lemieux scored in his entire career).
