I'm sorry, man, but I just don't really get RPG speedrunning 🤷‍♂️ I mean, don't get me wrong, I do •FULLY understand and appreciate• both the level of skill and precision involved in the process[…es, I guess?]… It just seems to me that speedruns violate the fundamental concepts of RPGs. . . 🤔 …Which •primarily• encourage exploration and immersion into each game's [•preferably• various stories/…] story. While I'm certain that by now you've likely played this game •even more• than I have [which is, quite frankly, difficult for me to even imagine 😆], effectively negating any real sense of necessity for full exploration and/or immersion, I'm just not sure that I'd be able to personally derive much pleasure from speedrunning this or any other beloved RPGs. . . 😬 Even so, it's certainly entertaining to watch someone else pull it off lol

Good review. The characters for me just weren't as engaging or stood out.

The thing that always set Suikoden apart for me and made the series special was the continuity. The shared characters, events, plotlines and world between the games made it feel so much more special and worth getting invested into than having every new game be a completely stand alone thing like how most JRPG's were and still are.

Village of the Elves has a beautiful soundtrack associated to it. It is sad that you only get to hear that track a few times before the events of the game makes it impossible.

Im on 2hrs and still cant figure out this,i got exactly same as the video but the enemy spawn is often the second enemy for holy rune and im not even changing formation
