Ko'olau Summit Trail: The Hardest Hike in the World You've Never Heard Of
Please do not attempt to hike the entirety of this trail without having hiked all sections of it separately first and being extremely comfortable on it. This video does not show a lot of the difficult parts of the trail that require climbing experience and attention to detail to avoid falling off of a cliff. Weather and trail conditions can change within the blink of an eye and can lead to serious injury or death.

*I mentioned in the video that K1 is the highest point on the island. I meant to say that K1 is the highest point in the Ko’olaus. Mount Ka’ala is the highest point on the island.

Braddah your ancestors was definitely warriors or something badass cuz. I’ve turned around on part much less treacherous than some of the wide ridges. This stuff definitely ain’t for the faint of heart. And I envy your courage🫡
On another note, how did you get past the Kipapa to Manana section? I’ve heard that you need permits to backpack that section of trail
@@thisplacedoesntevensellcheese Thanks! I believe the Kipapa ridge trail that leads up to the KST requires a permit, but I was already on the KST, so didn’t need a permit to access that trail.
@@kanoapick6620 good stuff brotha🙏🏽 much mahalos
Aloha bra, good to see a Hawaiian excelling in this space. Frustrating to see a bunch of foreigners claiming to be the “first” to ever traverse the Koʻolau summit. Nevermine this kine “conqueror” attitude. These were ancient trails well used by our Kupuna, there are many famous stories celebrating the famous runners and how fast they could get from one side of the island to the other. Just like surfing this was a “sport” our people excelled in. For the comment readers, look up “Kukini”
Brah I only can do Kuliouou couple times a month and im already dead. Amazing feat!!!!!
Wow 😮 good job 👍🏿 🤙
Wow!!!!!! Incredible video and feat. A whole other world up there. And the danger!!! And the beauty!!!!
I can't see a trail, just overgrowth.
Great video, enjoy it a lot. Glad you made it through safely.
@@kovar2344 Thanks
Thanks for sharing. Ive done many of the individual Ko'olau hikes. Interested in maybe doing the full through hike one day.
jeez, looks like a miserable trail with all this wind. Thanks for showing me what I don't want to do. :p
Watching this video just gave me vertigo. Is this Mt. Olomana?
@@glee6033 It’s the chimney which is a feature along the Ko’olau Summit Trail
I've scourge TH-cam daily for the past 20 years nearly. I find videos I enjoy everyday, multiple times a day, but rarely does a video ever earn an actual like. Kudos brother.
@@FpSNet Appreciate it! Thank you
Well done!!

The algorithm is treating you nicely right now my friend, you should start uploading and make a career out of this if you enjoy it! I've seen tons of people including myself wanting more vids & it seems like you do this kinda thing often considering your skill. All the best
@@Lucifer-ou4pw Thanks! I’ll start uploading more videos soon
Absolute insanity, congrats!

Definitely not 27000 feet of elevation gain bruh…that’s 2k shy of mt everest 😂😂😂😂
@@Duhhh123 It may be hard to believe, but it is 27k ft of elevation gain. That is one of the reasons why it is such a tough trail
Damn you have absolute balls of steel my bro… respect 💯🙌🙏

Terrifying!
Mad respect to you for having the balls to solo adventure the way that you do!

What a disappointment this was..."worlds hardest hike" didn’t appear to be all that difficult. You need a hat camera.

What an awesome video for so many reasons that are personal n no one else could understand, I was crying through the whole thing. Grab life while you can because when you least expect it, it's over. Love
No trespassing at the Lighthouse but good job doing the hike.
Did he say 27000 feet of elevation
EXACTLY IM LIKE HOW DID NOBODY ELSE CATCH THAT…. Nearly summited Mount Everest at that elevation. More like 2700… such a massive mistake lol
@@Duhhh123 It definitely is 27,000 ft of elevation gain. No mistake but I appreciate your concern
