Did you consider (or need) and over pressure valve so the bucket doesn't fight the thumb? (The bucket should win...) I have seen some that don't have this and they had a bent hydraulic rod on the thumb cylinder. Great job!

Nice job on the thumb! If you're using a smaller welder and you want better penetrating welds, pre heat anything thicker than ⅜" after you tack it up.

The way I have mine is that once the first one gets filled in it uses the pressure to fill in the second barrel and so on and so fourth. There is no need to sit next to them and flip the pipes to fill in each individual one, it's a lot of work and you'll get wet. You did a fantastic Job, nonetheless! Subscribed..

it seems like the speed at which this machine eats branches is slow, compared to my experience with a similarly sized towable vermeer unit (6" throat, 25hp v-twin gas engine). is the hydraulic feed rate adjustable? what PTO RPM are you running it at? curious, I am looking at buying one. thanks

It won't help the yellowing of the white chair, but a bleach water mix sprayed on prior will get rid of the black mold that is in the chair.

I have been using the same model here in Australia for some years now and am very happy with it. As to the 6” capacity, that would be green pine in my view. I aimed a couple of four inch Blue Gum branches at it and it promptly sheered the sheer bolt in the PTO shaft both times. A real buggar to remove from under the feed roller then!🤪 The tendency for the forward/reverse lever to vibrate into neutral can be adjusted if it bothers you. All in all, a very well built machine that gets the job done perfectly!

Most youtube DIY fixit producers never think to pull the camera back for perspective.. They always jump to the close-up like their eyeballs take up the rest of the space in the room I came here trying to find out if the motor & pump assembly will be facing the front of the machine, a circa 1991 model 110, direct drive.. I can't tell here. If I ever figure it out, and it is in front, I'm cutting a door into the goddamn housing, with hinges and a latch, to make it a lot easier to get at some piece of crap stuck in the pump that's making it squeal and whine. I used to make canes with saplings similar, but not dead, cut live, and air dried for about 10 years. Nice looking canes, very sturdy. But then one winter I slipped on a slick step, fell, on top of the cane as it happened. Pushed myself up, and found the cane had snapped in two and I had not even realized it. That was the day I started making canes out of layers of plywood. So, as long as you don't fall on the walking stick, should be fine.
