We've been converting our suburban back yard to a food forest and backyard orchard. We do our best to share what we learn about growing in Florida's conditions… heat, humidity, thunderstorms, hurricanes, poor soil (ok… sand), bugs, etc.
We're located near the east coast in north Florida (zone 9), but we strive to make our videos helpful to anyone trying to beat the heat, build hurricane resistant gardens and fight off everything that flies, jumps or crawls that wants to eat our food!

I appreciated your video on how to prune this tree. I have some smallish ones that my mom started for me (South Louisiana). Wondered if there was a way to contact you? I hoped to get an opinion on if i should prune mine at this point.

Don't know if you'll see my post but I just watch this and I planted mine in early May I did not know I could start them that early but maybe where I'm at I shouldn't have I think I had to wait till the ground was at least 65° Anyway I really worried about mine producing anything cuz I don't see anything poking up through the dirt like other people have talked about but mine is in the full sun and has lots of leaves I keep thinking I should wait to harvest them a little longer The problem is I guess what I want to know is when did yours bloom? cuz mine have been blooming for the last month and they're still blooming

I am grateful for your information I have to move my giant beauty because we are not the apt managers anymore and the new owner is worried the roots will interfere with the foundation. It breaks my heart as I am very attached emotionally to my plants. I know they are sensitive too. They are like my family-friends-pets. I hope the landlord will give me time to wait till it's colder. It's only early Sept now. I think your obvious concern and care for your plant helped it continue to grow.

I've been wanting to do this, and looked at several videos, and yours was the most helpful. I have to do everything myself, and the ratchet strap was just what I needed to help me with this. These cattle panels are not that heavy, but they are awkward to deal with by yourself. I put up two of these arch trellis today. The only thing I did different was to attach the cattle panels about 8-10 inches off the ground to give me a little more height. Great tutorial video! Thanks.

Yup that works great - on a stiff panel but on a welded wire fence, beware the welded wire will give on you. You also have to have the fencing stretched enough before applying the clip. THIS IS THE BEST MOST CONCISE VIDEO ON THIS I"ve Seen.

My hometown lets you take all you want if you live there. Multiple 25 foot tall piles of it. People dump their yard waste at the same site, and there’s big machines to process it and turn it over. My mom top dresses with it, and her garden always performs phenomenally. Very cool they do this for the residents.
