2020 Yamaha TTR 230 Front Suspension Upgrade
Here on my 2020 Yamaha TTR 230 I am upgrading my Front suspension by installing custom springs I order from www.cannonracecraft.com/. I simple emailed them my contact #, height, and weight. They called me the next day to confirm shipping and payment details. It took 3-4 weeks to receive them. I ordered them for a 5 11" 165ib person, The springs came in much stronger than the OEM, if I could it would have ordered them 10-20ib more than my weight, but overall the Job came out great and it is definitely more stiffer than it was originally.

How to Install Charging Terminals - 2020 TTR 230
มุมมอง 2.3K3 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video I install charging terminal's on my 2020 TTR 230, from the factory it does not come installed, it is very easy to do and takes about 15 minutes if everything goes very smoothly. You will also need some kind of Battery Tender that connects with what ever terminals you bought for the bike.

Where is this?
Where did you get those water hoses?
@@BlizzyTime I think it was an aftermarket set from eBay
thanks for share, O have a R125R 98, O beleave tô bem the same engine of yours bike, 1 more follower
Is the oil semi synthetic or mineral?
I read that the left right markings are supposed to face the right crankcase?
That’s a beautiful bike my TTR 230 is really dirty
It sounds awesome I’ll have to do that with my Ttr…..BUT YOU SPILLED YOUR SODA 😭😂
Este filtro original e de metal não se troca ,ele e lavável e pode ser reutilizado por muito tempo.
You can downshift brother
Do you have the part number and rate? .42 or .44?
What carb tuning did you do for the Big Gun Evo R exhaust?
I never made the video on the jet kit I had ended up using which is amazing, It was from Dynojet, if you go to their website you'll find the kit, it is really good, I think you just keep the same pilot but everything else changes. see if this link works, otherwise just google it and go to that website. www.dynojet.com/jet-kit-for-2002-2021-yamaha-tt-r230-stage-1-4162/
Ty
Hey bro have the same bike as you. Any idea where to find a plastics kit?
Just wondering, did you get a certain restyle kit or just buy the new plastic kit
how long did this take to do? thinking about doing a suspension upgrade as well for my 2024 ttr 230
Did you notice a big difference with the gear set up?
Why would you change the sprocket sizes to pretty much keep the same gear ratio?
Location please)
What jet size do you need for it to work,im thinking about get it to
Did you ever figure out what size jets?
@sebastianochalski1051 nope,I never did get exhaust for it,ill get one, when spring time comes
👍
Same for 94? It’s 5 speeds so idk
You never said what was the torque spec for the pinch bolts
Great video, I am 240 lbs is that upgrade tou hust didwould be ok for my weight too. ttr230 too. thks keep ypthe good work when tou changed the jets tour lighting was a bit dark , maybe next time more light thks
Do you still do videos on the ttr
how long can you have the battery tender on it for? Also can you recharge a dead battery to have as a spare once you remove it to replace it with a new one or is that one gone for good?
Put bearing in the freezer for awhile much easier and a press
Don't you set timing when you install the stator?
It’s a 2 stroke motor, there is no timing to be done here - the stator fits only one way and the magneto over it has a notch so it can’t put on any other way.
Do you know if I get a new exhaust for the TTR if it will keep the green sticker valid or will it change it?
I am not sure because each state is different with the laws- I think noise pollution is a states biggest concern, but technically as long as it has an exhaust it will do it’s job.
you're a fuckin lifesaver. great video
Man I got a 99'cr125, and I burned up my stator. So I've bought 3 now, and none of them have worked. My buddy has the same bike and let me try his stator on mine, and work instantly. I just don't know what to do
Just curious did you find the issue I’ve got the exact same problem
I do yes
Please God do a 88 cr 250 next
I have a 2007 TTR 230 would this still work on my bike?
I am not to sure, I think everything stayed the same, but I don’t know if it will clear the kickstart, but I would assumed you could
What year transmissions will fit a 2002 CR125R? Having issues with 3rd gear and can't source a 2002 3rd gear. It's discontinued so I'm looking at replacement bottom ends.
Good video. I want to change to synthetic rope with those rubber bumper things.
do you happen to know the torque of the crank bolt?
excellent video man! helped me a ton reassembling my 2001 cr125!
Sweet video, did you see a huge improvement to a heavier spring set on rougher trails?
Would this be a good beginner bike?
So I just met a guy (older) yesterday that has one of these exhausts on his TTR 230 but doesn't like it because he thinks it's too loud. I've got a TTR230 also and we were talking about doing an exhaust exchange. He would like to have a stock exhaust,(which I have) and I like the sound of his better than mine, If I put his on my bike, do I have to do anything to the carburetor, or can I just slip it on without any rebuild, or adjustments do you know? I'm a new rider, and am not really interested in cranking up the power per say, just thought his sounded better.
Bow f Do you jump sirsks
If you up both of the gears, you still have approximately the same gear ratio. For more top end you make the front gear bigger and read gear smaller. Vice versa for more torque
What do you thinks faster your Ttr 230 or your cr125
Hi. What is your fuel screw setting with 38/130 jets? Thanks
that transmission is ridiculously healthy, no wear on the dogs at all, like brand new. i wish i had the same... :)
1:20 when you have these assembled, does 3rd gear on the countershaft engage fully? even with a new shift fork mine only half engages, i got a new second hand third gear on countershaft with the same wear pattern (but no rounding) that shows it was only half engaging too, which means it must be a common thing with these bikes. bad design? i surprisingly cant find anything on the internet about it though, i wonder if there is a way to shim something by a mm or so to get closer to full engagement, otherwise i am worried i will get a repeat of rounded third gear and having it pop in and out.
It does, though I did run into problems like that, only because a few shims weren’t in the right places but I eventually got the right order. The manuals for the bike definitely have the sizes and specs of the gears l, I have the owners manual on a pdf only for the 6 speed motors. One thing that drove me crazy was, and if anyone can correct me or tell me what here - “I did this so long ago so I am gunna try to explain it best here” I had the right order for some time and every time I spin the gears I would get everything engaging buut I if I did it fast it wouldn’t or sometimes it’ll not engage, I thought I was missing a spacer for the longest time, but when I put the case together it worked great, I come to think the case acted as the spaced I needed cuz it was fractions of a MM not much, also one of the bearings can make it’s way out causing a space- I had this problem like that and also ordered all new ones and the one for that whole was “taller” and that was a headache because I didn’t realize that was a problem for hours… lol this can be a pain stuff, one alternative if you really say screw it is to buy an assembled gear and shaft from eBay.
@@RidingwithDylan hmm, i guess i will put all the old stuff back in, measure the gap, then put all the new stuff in and measure. i have the proper clymer hardcopy manual for my bike, all the removable shims/ washers are in the right place, i have not removed the circlipped gears to check them, but they look right. i have replacement transmission bearings, but still have the old ones in, and i have not removed the bearing retainer, so that loose one you had that kept popping out shouldnt be loose for me. it is only a 2-3 mm gap when the dogs are fully engaged, so its 75% engaged, but all the other gears engage 90%+ so it seems strange. also, like i said the replacement gear i got showed the same area worn indicating it was not fully engaging either, maybe its just the way its supposed to be. weird. a definite weak spot if it is. hopefully i did something wrong and can figure it out, it shouldnt slip though, the old shift fork was in pretty bad shape, gouged and bent, the old gear was very rounded. so replacing the shift for and gear should be enough, but for peace of mind i want them to engage another mm or so if possible. i have not yet put the new gear in, or measured it, but the dogs as well as being less round, may be half a mm or more bigger, so that might make up the difference. or maybe like you say when the case is together its all aligned and supported better, i dont know. oh well, i will see how i go, thanks for the help :)
I like how you tell what things that went wrong not just how everything went according to plan, lol. We learn from you.
Thank you!
Awesome! This video is exactly what I needed to figure out how to do this myself! Do you reuse the same circlips?
Yes you can reuse them, you just want to take them out nicely, otherwise if you over or under stretch them technically there a little weaker and should be replaced, You most likely don’t need to replace them.🤟
Our low-hour 2021 230 keeps pumping excessive crankcase oil into the airbox, even when parked and idling. It's not over filled with oil. Any idea what the problem could be?
Second owner of a 2021 230 and the filter housing bolts appear to be the same as yours--different color and one with allen head. I was thinking prior owner must have messed things up, but I guess not.
The GYTR pipe is pretty good. Lets the bike rev freely. The aluminium clamp to the head bends though. I cut the standard steel one off and used that instead. I went up one size pilot jet. Main jet I left standard.
