You have an amazing voice. Thank you for this
Thank you so much for listening 🖤
@queeread you truly have a gift for this. I'd listen to any audiobooks you read.
That means the world to me. Truly. Thank you.
You have a magnificent talent for embodying the different characters with your voice. It really enhances the reading/listening experience :-)
That means the world to me! Thank you so much for listening, Troy 🖤
Couldn’t wait to open😁😁
I’m so glad! It was a difficult read for me. It’s a deeply hilarious chapter, but also the most graphic, sexual thing I’ve ever read aloud 🫣
Nice job reading this powerful story. You did it justice. 💛
Thank you for listening, that means a lot 🖤
Teary eyes listening to this story.
It’s a poignant one 🖤
Your voice lulls me in and I can’t seem to stop listening to the end of each story.😁
That means the world to me. Truly. Thank you 🖤
A beautiful reading🥰🥰
Thank you so much, Bonnie 🖤
If you don't mind i would like to give you another suggestion. Look into the poetry and stories of the Brontë Sisters especially Emily. There is a lot to be learned from her life.
I wish you a healthy and happy new year . There is a lot of strength in you, please look after yourself and be happy as often as you can.
Happy New Year, love!
Now, your voice. When I was little, my mother’s. La tua voce è bellissima. Raymond loves you read him. Grazie Giorgio
What a beautiful comment, Giorgio. That means the world to me. 🖤
@@queeread How did you learn about queer reading. Does it come naturally to you, or did you have to study a lot? Have you ever published a book? The short stories you read or write are very Carver-like. I mean, they are just small real fragments of one’s own life. Raymond Carver: the more honest a writer is, the more the reader will understand them. Ciao Giorgio
Please do the rest of the chapters! Your narration is so easy to follow along and your voice is so nice!
I took a little hiatus but I’ll be reading a new (and fucking hilarious) chapter soon, I promise 🖤
@@queeread Thank you!!! I’ve been trying so hard to find someone reading American Psycho that I enjoy listening to! Now I’m itching for the next chapter.
Narrator is very good! Hopefully people find this one! 👏
Thank you for listening 🖤
3:12. When you “corrected yourself” it came off as so natural and organic. I wouldn’t think you were reading that off a page
Thank you so much! That means a lot. 🖤
Good narration!
Thank you kindly! 🖤
I like this. Thank you for reading and sharing one of my favorite Carver stories
You're very welcome 🖤
It was very good
Thank you for listening 🖤
That is a lot of pain and bitterness Sweetheart.
It is 🖤
I’ve read a beautiful book. Written by Raymond Carver wife. Maryann Burk What It Used to Be Like: A Portrait of my Marriage to Raymond Carver
Thank you 🖤
Bellissima
Thank you so much, love 🖤
Bellissima
Thank you 🥹
You wrote it. Isn’t it. Comunque bellissima.
This was written by a client of mine when I worked for a domestic violence organization. She changed my life 💜
Very beautiful and very well read. Thank you
Thanks for listening 🖤
I know there is no way to say this without sounding like a pedantic ass- Pilsner Urquell is pronounced more er-KELL. I like to be corrected, I'm hoping you do too.
Thank you! There are so many designer names in this book, I need all the help I can get 😂
Bebe "Malo" There is no particular reason behind sending it to you. My Spanish is rather poor but the basic message of the song is "Please don't hurt me anymore ".
"The last Hitman" This may be bit of a stretch, trust me. It's a rather interesting film. Thinking of you lately. Big Hug
🐕😢
I know 🫂
This is marvelous. Thank you for writing and reading. I am deeply grateful to you. Giorgio
You are so welcome! This is the first writing of mine I ever recorded 🖤
Tori Amos "Winter"
🫶🏻
🖤
Thank you very much. Brusco and Giorgio
You are most welcome. All my love to you both 🖤
My dog Brusco is very sick; he has leishmaniasis. I have just listened to “Our Wound” and felt deeply connected to your reading. If possible, could you read something else for my dog? I would love to let him listen to it. Thank you so much, dear reader. Ciao Giorgio From Rome
I would be honored to read something for Brusco. Do you have something in mind? 🖤
"Chef's House" is a short story written by Raymond Carver
Marvelous
You read “Intimacy” by Raymond Carver. You read it perfectly. Even the picture associated with the reading was ideal.
Chef’s House Storytelling has always been an important part of Raymond Carver's stories. "Chef's House" is unique, however, in that, unlike most of Carver's stories, the dialogue between characters is not within quotation marks. Thus, the whole story seems to be more like Edna's recounting of all the events to a friend after the fact, rather than the action happening in real-time. Also unique, is the fact that it is Edna recounting the story, rather than Wes. Most of Carver's works come from the male perspective and more often from the alcoholic, rather than the alcoholic's wife. These changes give a special twist to "Chef's House" and reinforce the questions about identity from throughout the story.
So good. Thank you.
Thank you for listening 🖤
The original comment was deleted i think. I heard about this story and tried to find it, the original post is there but not this comment. I read the reactions so i knew about the lamp and the overall idea of the story. I'm so glad i got to hear it this way. Thank you so much. This was a great story and your performance made it so engaging. Thank you,
Thank you for listening! I’m so glad you enjoyed it 🖤
This variation just couldn't be read better.Super lyrical, absolutely captured that emotions and sublimely. Kind of new with this book, some bits are disturbing for sure but there is something that pulls me into this book. Can you read some other variations if that doesn't disturb you?
Thank you so much! I’ll read another chapter just for you 🖤
Who wrote this peace of art?
I did!
@ Here is the translation: I am 68 years old. I live in the countryside near Rome. I’m on a train heading to Rome to visit my daughter Maria, who is expecting a baby. The sky is blue, and the sun is very strong. I listened to Safe again. I often re-listen to your stories, and each time they feel more beautiful; then I forget them and listen again. I don’t know if I’m more interested in the stories or in the music of your music. I discovered you on TH-cam because I love Intimacy by Raymond Carver, and you love Ray too. Have you ever been to Rome? In June, my grandson will be born. You could come so I can introduce you to my entire family: My wife. My three daughters. My son-in-law. My grandson, who will be born in June. Best wishes, Giorgio Per favore continua a leggere, la tua voce è bellissima.
Thank you for sharing your life with me and for listening. I’m happy to send you a link to the full story if you’d like! Just let me know where to send it.
@@queeread When did you begin writing, and what inspired you to start? When did you begin reading, and what inspired you to start?
I’ve always enjoyed writing since I was a kid. And the interest in reading aloud began about two years ago 🖤
"Your voice is the only thing that gives me hope that Palestine will be free."
Morbidly, heartbreaking, riveting piece. Your voice, your reading, does it justice😢 Thank you💔
Thank you so much for listening 🖤
I just read Halloween Tree for.. well you can guess 😅 and I’m not sure how my algorithm knew that and recommended me your channel but I believe it’s the fates ❤
It was meant to be! Thank you for listening 🖤
Some dumbass deleted the original comment.
😢
Great reading, thanks! I recorded my own version of this story a while back for my class but yours is a lot better.
I’d love to hear your version. It’s a beautiful, heartbreaking story. Thank you so much for recommending it. Please feel free to suggest others as I’m always looking for new material! 🖤
This story is so good and your voice sounds particularly nice in this one. The only other Carver story I know well is "Cathedral." Are you also a fan of his poetry? His poem titled "In the Lobby of the Hotel del Mayo" is my favourite. "The Car" is another one that's surprisingly impactful when read aloud.
Thank you! I chose to read that one in a more feminine tone. I will check out the poems; I love them, too 🖤
Your reading is really great. I like the metallic robotic voice. This story makes me want to get outside!
Glad you liked it! And enjoy outside, but beware of the po-po.
Your reading makes this story feel really dark right from the start, which I think is appropriate! Thanks. I should really read more Alice Walker.
Thank you! It’s such a haunting story. Thank you so much for recommending it to me, and for listening. Posting another one you recommended shortly 🖤
Thank you!
You’re so welcome! Thank you for listening 🖤
Do you take requests? Your readings are exceptional
Absolutely. What would you like to hear? And thank you 🖤
@queeread Here are a few that might suit your channel. I read them with my Grade 10 students and there aren't any really great readings of them out there that I am aware of. I think your reading style would really suit them. "The Flowers" by Alice Walker (one page long). A young girl comes across the skeletal remains of a man that was lynched. "The Pedestrian" by Ray Bradbury (also pretty short). No introduction necessary. It's Bradbury! "The Ceiling" by Kevin Brockmeier. Interesting metaphor and minds-eye visuals. I'm discovering some great short stories through your channel so I expect to play some of your readings for my students in the future. I enjoyed "I could see the smallest things" by Carver. Thanks again.
@@queeread Hey I typed up a response earlier but I don't think it went through. Hope this isn't showing up 2x on your end :) I think you could do a really great reading of "The Flowers" by Alice Walker, "The Pedestrian" by Ray Bradbury, and "The Ceiling" by Kevin Brockmeier. "The Flowers" is a 1 page story about a young girl that comes across the skeletal remains of a man who had been lynched many years prior. "The Pedestrian" is just a classic Ray Bradbury story. Probably underrated. "The Ceiling" has some great writing, a nice metaphor and interesting minds-eye visuals. I teach these stories to my Grade 10 English students. There aren't any really good readings of them that I'm aware of. Thanks again. I'm finding some nice short stories via your channel.
I would be delighted to read these for you and your students 🖤
@@queeread Thanks I look forward to hearing your reading of any of these. In the meantime I will catch up on some of your other posts :)
Your voice is so beautiful to me!
Thank you! 😊
your reading is engaging and suits the tone of the story well. good work!
Thank you! That means so much considering how many cry breaks I had to take 😂🖤
Jesus christ, what a harrowing story. When i relised what was actually happening my heart sank so low. "He never knew what Jerry wanted." Haunting line that encompases so much about people whose actions i will never understand. Wonderful reading, as always. Thank you.
It’s such a haunting story. Thank you for listening 🖤
Love Amy Hempel’s writing and love your reading!
Thank you so much 🖤
Wonderful reading. Thank you.
Thank you so much 🖤
