      Zero additional smoothness as my steering is perfect, this is a maintenance step to extend the life of the rack. Hondas and many other mfg use the lowest amount of cheap grease. Oh man, I can feel your frustration. It's amazing to me that we can have over a hundred years of plumbing with modern showers and yet on Wingtite has come up with a top down install for shower drains. The rest are basically no different from kitchen sink drains.... and do those leak? yeah, but you always have access to the freaking under side. It's insanity man. I'm on a concrete slab..... and the funny part is that it was just a gasket dislodged slightly. but because I had to loosen it.... either I rip out the shower or replace the perfectly fine drain with a Wingtite.

    • @mrfrankbosh
      @mrfrankbosh 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Pray that it is. The pulley towards the front is your cam and it is unlikely to wobble as the journals will hold it very firm and should never wobble. Cut the belt and start the vehicle. The water pump will not turn but you can run a cold engine several minutes with no pump. See if it still wobbles. If it does I’d say just live with it. You can also now turn the pump and may feel the bad bearing. If it has over 100,000 and never replaced it is a good bet it is bad or will soon be bad. Also a great time to put new antifreeze in the vehicle every 7 -10 years with long life antifreeze of the same color. Best wishes.

    Wish you took a short video or audio recording to show what the noise sounded like before the fix. Our 2010 Prius started to make a strange quick clicking noise when accelerating lightly. Doesn't matter if the engine is cold or warm. It sounds like thin sheet metal vibrating. Most noticeable at lower speed, probably due to corresponding low tire/road noise. The noise never happens when the car runs on battery and the gas engine is off.

    • @mrfrankbosh
      @mrfrankbosh ปีที่แล้ว

      So sorry 😞, this usually is a rattling sound like nut in a tin can…. Soup can. It happens during acceleration or deceleration with the gas engine, so yes it could be your issue. The nice thing about this is even if it is not the cause of your problem, you only have your time and a few dollars in wire and it will prevent this from happing for years to come. Ours was very bad, I can say if it is just starting, it could sound like vibrating metal. Be sure to check the easy heat shields first by putting the vehicle on ramps and attaching vise grips then revving up the engine, if it stops, you found it.

      The easy way is to place the car on ramp and slide under with the engine running E-Brake set. Use a short 10” piece of wood (ruler or such). Push on the heat shield. If the rattle stops then that is it. A problem is that everything looks right when the car is off - nothing broken. If the shield moves easily that is where the rattle is from. Best of luck the repair is easy but takes time. Use stainless wire if you can find it. Any metal wire will work, true enough, I like stainless.
