How to Install a Fish Finder Thru Hull Transducer (FULL In-Depth DIY)
Learn how to install a through hull transducer in your boat for your fish finder. This video covers EVERYTHING from start to finish on how to install a new thru hull transducer properly and save thousands of dollars by doing it yourself. I show you how to remove the old transducer and fairing, how to drill a new hole in your hull, adding backing plates, sealing with 5200, and finally we go out and explore a ship wreck to test the transducer out. In this case we are using a Raymarine rv220 transducer and we need two so we can get side scan, 3D imaging, chirp, and RealVision but this process works for other brands like Airmar, Garmin, Furuno, Simrad, and more! This is @chrisfixstyle but for boats so you know you're learning all the best methods and wont sink your boat!

“This guy sounds a lot like ChrisFix”, it took me a while to realise why.
You young man are a top bloke, love your measure good sense
Very helpful, thanks! The only thing you missed is that you should put a fish in the garbage can when testing 😀
Why would you use 5200. That’s not recommended on use for any serviceable parts. Should have used 4200
watching chrisfix turning into a florida man is going to be good content.
Ahoy there Chris fish here. A Chris fix intro i love it Chris!
more Chrisfish!
Okay Chris fix or is it chrisshis
Chris when are some more video coming to this channel? I love the fishing videos and they are fun to watch to be honest.
Hope to have some this year!
@ Sweet! Looking forward to some fishing in 2025
11:45 we're just ignoring that hull crack, right?
its just a gelcoat crack, not anything important for a dry bilge.
Error on Six10. You need to eject a few cms of the mix before using so the mix is proper.
Thanks for the tip
For info, you need to use a proper countersink head to bevel a hole, not a bigger drill bit.
Thanks for the tip
Those are nice boats. Worth the fix.
Agreed! They're great boats!
When will we get a new vid? I like sea life too
Going to try to get more videos for 2025!
@ yippee

Thank you so much!
ChrisFish 😅 Channel named earned you a sub.
haha thanks!
What if I need to seal a hole below the water line that will have just wires going through it?
You would want that hole as tight to the wire as possible and use this: amzn.to/4iA9pe1
NO WAYYY! ITS CHRISSSS!!!
Don't use Acetone use MEK (Methyl Ethel Keytone) acetone leaves a film. Take the gel coat on the inside back of the raw glass and then use Epoxy or Vinyl ester resin
Thanks for the tips!
How do you find out how deep the lakes are
Look it up in a google search. Most of the time there is info with the depth contours.
I’m a little late to the game, but “ChrisFix has a fish/boat YT?!?!” Keep up the good work. I love your vids.
Thanks!
Silicone grease has left the chat
1:43 my counties water rescue/dive rescue team uses side scan when doing searches for as a example a car that’s in the water or a sunken boat makes there job a heck of a lot easier
Exactly
So after several seasons have there been any issues with galvanic corrosion??
Yes I ended up finding the problem. The previous owner cut the cable to the mercathode. I replaced/repaired it and I hope the boat goes in the water soon!
Can this be used for a transom? I need to seal holes from a old jack plate on a small fiberglass boat
Yes as long as it is a small hole. Bigger holes need fiberglass. If the transom is thick, you can also soak wood dowels in resin and hammer them in.
@ I ended up using this for my transom and it worked fine
@@carlos92fs87 Nice work!
What's up guys it's Corey, from Corey's world!
So excited to see more come out of this channel ❤️ hopefully everything goes smoothly
Anyone that watches both channels 😂😂😂
"And that's how our relationship ended on that fateful day."

Once I get some long awaited videos done on the other channel I will definitely upload a video or two around here again!
Chris: “You don’t want to make the fish bodyslam the water” Also Chris: Throws a crab By the way: this is only a joke and crabs are crabs.
How much were the scooter rentals? Going to a Caribbean cruise in December and curious what the prices are.
I think I paid like $50 or $60, definitely shop around and reserve online
When can we expect a new video??
Probably early next year, I need to get the Turbo Del Sol and some other long awaited videos done first, now that I am settled into the new place and able to work on videos more efficiently you should be seeing more content!
will you ever go back to chrisfix, i’ve learnt a lot from your videos
Yes, I am working 100% on that channel currently
