@@TONEDEAFSOUND I’m daydreaming about the Katana version. Might get it someday. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Great review! I "like" that blade. Windlass makes good stuff and it looks like I just found my next Windlass blade...
@@jorgefernandez6407 thanks! Very good bang for the buck as far as I can see!
Excellent review! I'm also a Honshu fan. I liked that seax. Got it in D-2 steel. Liked it so much I got my son and daughter one also! I like your channel, you review the stuff I like!!! Subscribed too btw...
@@jorgefernandez6407 thank you!!! I haven’t tried any of the D2 yet. I have a few knives in it though. Maybe I’ll go D2 on the next Honshu. Glad you like my content. Stay tuned for more. Thanks for commenting and the sub!

@@jorgefernandez6407 thanks! I’m still impressed by it. I recently took it out for a cleaning and sharpening. It’s a beast.
Cool video 👍 very nice guy , ver, informative
@@TROJANMICHAEL Thank you. I’m glad you liked it!
can you redesign the sheath in to a straight forward 1 without buttons which will allow much quicker draws
@@raphlvlogs271 I don’t know. It’s a weird shape. Forward curved and flared at the top. I’ve seen some kukhri that have sheaths that allow draw cuts but they are shorter and not quite as curved. Thanks for watching and commenting. I might do a video on the kukhri soon. There is an old video in my past videos!
with a mirror polish! im putting that sword in the maybe purchase category. thanks for the info and testing.

That was a fun weekend!....we got to do it again soon!!....love the videos!
Thanks Brother. We said, we had a great site, great food and great company! Couldn’t ask for better. Definitely do it again soon
Mine arrived today🗡👍
Nice. Hope you’re happy with it.
👋 brother, nice cutting. Cool blade 😎 I was looking at this blade on BudK website and did a search on TH-cam to check it out and here I am. Thanks for the great review.
It really is the perfect EDC blade👍🗡😊
I think I need one🤔👀👀
I definitely recommend it. Let me know if you get one and what you think of it.
@@poppypicker3863 Where did you get yours?
@@torgomax online @ Blades Canada a while ago.
Did you ever come across the sword, Zulifiquar ?
I saw it on the website. Really cool. Maybe someday. Thanks for watching
Pedang pemotong kepala.
Quick question, is this sword really 5.1 pounds like I just read on Amazon, because if that’s true she’s pretty damn heavy.
No way it’s that heavy. Reliks lists it as 3.1 lbs. I don’t have any way to verify this but my Hanwei Claymore is almost 5 lbs and this one is not even close. Thanks for watching
Budk says 3.1 lbs
This is fire
Honshu just keeps on impressing me with their works!
I really like they’re blades. I have a couple more on my wish list. Thanks for watching
People rag on the steel on those old Masahiros, but then you see them in actual cutting demos and they work just fine and don't bend, chip, or break.
Agreed. I wouldn’t put it through hard abuse but for backyard bottle cutting it hasn’t let me down. It’s over 10 years old too. Thanks for watching!
It was raining when we left there Sunday morning but we enjoyed our trip!! Love the videos!!
Thank you! I’m glad you liked the spot. I’m looking forward to the next trip myself. Do you tent camp or trailer?
@@poppypicker3863 We tent camp but we have cots and heavy sleeping bags!!
Cool setup, man. Fair enough about the Nescafe Gold. Our percolater at the camper is huge, and takes over half an hour to finish up. At home I grind Kicking Horse Half-Ass for the stovetop espresso maker. At least that thing is small and only takes 10min.
Kicking Horse was a favourite of mine. I’ll probably get back into it now that it’s in my head. lol Thanks for watching and commenting buddy!
@@poppypicker3863 yeah it's good coffee, hey. Crazy story about the moose crash. I'm glad you were able to walk away from that. Here we only have deer on the southern prairie. Ex gf even headshotted one off the bumper of her little Acura with only paint damage. Still prefer not to drive at dusk. The deer are flat grey this time of year, impossible to see when the oncoming cars are blinding everything with those newer high output headlights.
@@KF1 Thanks brother. Deer are no joke either. I lived in British Columbia and experienced them. Either way it’s a great reason to have good headlights and don’t take your eyes off the road!
Either you're a really good cutter, or thats a sharp sword. Or both.
Thanks! It’s one of the best I have. Very sharp but great blade geometry too. Trust me it’s more that than my skill. lol thanks for watching and commenting!
Great blades work 🔥⚔️😎

i love this awesome viking sword
Glad you like it!
Jesus . I'd be afraid to own one . 😂
At 50 years of age, I’ve been reminiscing about my great childhood… all of the movies, music and my fascination with ninjas! I watched all of the movies and used to run around my neighborhood at night dressed in black. I’d literally climb on my neighbor’s roofs and in their trees…. try doing that these days! Anyhow, I just ordered the Kouga Ninjato from KOA. I put my name on the waitlist about a month ago and got the notification Wednesday that it was back in stock. I kicked around the idea because I literally just bought a Cold Steel Warrior Wakizashi earlier this week. I went ahead and ordered it and sure enough, a few hours later it was out of stock again. Glad it decided to get it and I’m excited to get it in hand!
I’m with you my friend. I did the same thing back in the day…well not on rooftops at least I don’t remember. Always had stars on me. Good times. I waited a long time for the Kouga to come back in stock when I got it. I jumped on it and I’m glad I did. My inner 12 year old is really happy. How do you like the Warrior Wakizashi? I have the Dragonfly Tanto. I’ve been debating getting a Dragonfly Katana. Thanks for sharing and watching!
@@poppypicker3863 Good memories for sure, my friend! I like the Wakizashi… I’m not an expert by any means but it definitely is a solid piece. I got it for $268 shipped so it wasn’t a bad deal at all. Haven’t cut anything yet. My only other sword is a katana that I bought years ago from Longquan(sp?) It’s no where near as robust as the Cold Steel. Looking forward to adding a few more Ninjato to my collection. Can you recommend any quality ones? Are the Sho Kosugi Ninjatos any good?
@@redeemed2517 I’ve never had any experience with the Sho Kosugi ones. I know there’s different levels of quality with them. Pretty sure Freestyle Swordsman channel has some good info on them. The only other Ninjato I have is a pretty cheap one, the dragon Ninjato. That being said you can’t go wrong with the Hanwei ones. I’ve thought about getting the Iga model. There’s probably lots of options I’m not familiar with. I’m sure some TH-cam research will help. Anything I can do to help, let me know!

@@poppypicker3863 thanks for the insight, I really appreciate it! I’m gonna wait for my Kouga to arrive before I dive into anything else. I’ll definitely hit you up if I have any questions… thanks again!
Officers wear left side and draw with the right hand. These are for CPO s now. There is a great vid by a MCPO on it.
Tends to be the way with most swords. Thanks I’ll check out that video
You realize that is for the right hand?
I do. I am right handed.
Nice cuts and cool blade, man. I love how you still have the same intro from 10 years ago. Rock on
Thanks brother. I appreciate you saying that. Glad you like it and thanks for watching.
Wow .it can really cut . I understand why you keep your hand behind your back . 😂
If you’re going to be dangerous at least be safe. lol
Imagine being able to take this back in time 1200 years to show it to real vikings lol.
Really though. lol
Apparently Vikings liked the grips short like that so they could get more leverage with the blade, they felt it was worth the maneuverability tradeoff. Probably because they would usually have a stout shield in the other hand.
I can see that. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Very handsome blade!
Thanks for showing me this sword. I wanted to buy it, but now I’m thinking about it, I wanted a sword that was more rigid, for piercing blows, but this one, alas, is too flexible as it seemed to me!
Glad I could help. The Darksword Armory Oslo I looked at a few videos ago is definitely more in line with what you are looking for. Though it is a lot more money and requires a bit of sharpening. Thanks for watching!
Always a great review!!
Thank you! Glad you like it
That's a fun looking sword. My Ronin Katana Model #1 Longsword has a crazy level of flex to it. Very springy. I finally got around to ordering myself a Ronin Katana Model #12 Viking Sword earlier today, so it's cool you're reviewing a Viking sword. I liked the size of the RK #12.
Glad you enjoyed it. I did a review of the Ronin longsword #4 a while back. I don’t think they offer it anymore. I bet they’re Viking Sword is awesome. Hope you like it. Thanks for watching and commenting.

It's a nice looking sword, but the scabbard looks cheaply made.
I agree. I’ve done a bit of work to make it usable but the leather is pretty cheap and got messed up pretty quickly. Impressed by the sword but definitely not with the scabbard. Thanks for watching!!!
Skyjiro is top quality. I have six of their models including iaito.
Nice. I’d like to get the Wakizashi version but I can’t find it anywhere for sale. Which models do you have?
@@poppypicker3863 wakizashi you can only get as a daisho. I own the entire Ashigaru (domoe, Hanabira, takachigai), stainless steel and steel iaito, Hotategai, and Tenku Ancient Iron Warrior. I’ve got to handle most of their offerings at San Shin Kai summer camp.
@@poppypicker3863 Mountain Teachings has limited stocking inventory of Skyjiro offerings. I don’t remember of the top of my head what he currently has in inventory. I just helped him sell a few iaito.
@@poppypicker3863I just got off the phone with their lone independent US dealer over a few iaito sales. They use the same fitting sizes for their wakizashi as for their katana. Main difference is tsuka length.
I have a love hate relationship with Honshu both blades I bought from them were dull as a hammer face
That’s a drag. I’ve had a few blades from windlass that were like that. However I have 3 Honshu and they were really good. Hollow grinds too so scary sharp. I have another Honshu coming soon.
