107❤For my genration ,from japan.

I chose a '14 e550a cab. A little less flashy, room for 4 for an hour or so. Simpler top. Quiet enough, plenty of power. So far, no major problems. Enjoy leisurely cruise the backroads of the CA coast, the foothills, Yosemite and the mountains on a sunny winter or spring day at speeds below wind noise. But. Fear the problems as it ages. 1. Oil in wiring harness 2. Carbon on valves 3. Timing chain issues 4. Cylinder scoring 5. Timing cover oil leaks. 6. Coolant/oil system adhesive failure Oh well.

Revisiting your review again. Love to buy one but other journalists reported that the gearbox is jerky, ride is terrible, interior bits rattle & squeak , Burmister stereo sounded really average

The car is a weapon. A wolf in sheep’s clothing. I love mine and it’s perfection. The steering is 100% and I think you’re not allowing for the rear wheel steering which does change the feel of the steering. It’s an incredible car.

Huge improvement in the looks department. They obviously fired whoever designed the last generation of all these cars. Whoever they have brought on now has fixed them all.

Mines the 2.8 its powerfull enogh to get where it needs plus i get nearley 40 to the gallon on a run 30 round doors obsidian black cream interior and is mint considering its my daily driver with just over 161 k miles engine still mint i do everything myself dont trust garages to many young lads that are clueless in garages now

The W198 and the R107 were the only "instant classics". All others had to go and are still going through neglection.

All I can say is when that r230 came out it had the greatest presence and would turn heads. Low, wide and reclined. Just looked like $$$ and importance driving down the road.

R107 didn't needed any extra safety features. You could drive the car through a brick wall and still reach your destination unharmed and problem free. Ein richtiger Panzerwagen

I have owned a 280SL Pagoda, an R107 500, several R129s (280, 320 and 500). I still own an R230. But which do I personally think is the ‘best’? Well, it depends what your criteria are for ‘best’. However, I would say, the R129s were the best built. The Pagoda and R107 look good but are not really that nice to drive especially long distance. Best to drive of the ones that I have owned? The R230……easily!
