R129 is a masterpiece of design. The straight lines match so much the golden number ratio (1.618). This is why the car is beloved.

Since 2 Werk i have now the SL r 230, 500 , 2002..special Color dark green,changing.Color..it is a powerfull very nice Car and Amazing modern Design ..one of the beautiful SL's..🌞😎

Something else to break. Seatbelt design was developed years ago and everyone hated it then. Go look at the seatbelts from Ford Escort 1988 had the similar mechanism. Yuck! Took 35 seconds from rear to front…. Try getting out after accident. I had a front end collision into a cement embankment at 50 mph and survived. The mechanics suck but can save your life. Unfortunately vehicle value far below purchased price took me a year to pay off difference after accident.

Maybe it's a weird opinion, but I really hate the mechanism that deliver your seatbelt. They are so incredibly prone to failing in all prior cars that had it. Maybe they've since then eliminated the issues.

The first Mercedes, SL 300. I think it is a red one is the most beautiful Mercedes I’ve ever seen in my life and I’m sad that I never get to drive it. I wish Mercedes bring back that kind of styling because that’s what makes the car really truly beautiful on the outside styles everything.

I love mercedes benz i have an E450 2022 i love the interior . But this new model's interior i dont like it . Black piano in.my opinion is not a option for my verry annoying and very easy to scratch . No real buttons is not for me .

After 3 years I'm glad to change my 200b AMG premium plus. The outside quality of build is poor to say the least. Panel gaps are inconsistent - up to 6mm gap at bottom of A pillar to an out of wind step between front wing and bonnet of approx 4-5mm. Cabin noise and ratttles were terrible especially for a Mercedes - I think it must be the panoramic sun roof. If the newer model is lower than mine, speed bumps should be negotiated with extreme care. Glad it's over.

I own a 1990 R129 500 SL since 2010. (smoke-silver 702/brasil) After seeing this video, I want to bring it back in the 1990 perfect shape. I always treated the car well. Only used original parts. Best part: spring is about to come :)

X5 messed up the front of the car but improved everything else. GLE improved the headlights but everything else unchanged

Why does no one mention the superior physical safety protection that Mercedes provides its occupants in addition to the electronic safety measures. Most other cars, with the exception of Volvo, do not provide such physical protection. This is rarely emphasized in these evaluations.

Hi, According to my parents prefaclift, extending sun visors with a second, small, one is an option for the GLE (I guess still the case for the facelift) , so are the rear electric seats (then you get also electric folding from the trunk). I don't know for the X5 but it indicates we always have to be careful when comparing (even with a ore-facelift). For the trunk volumes, most brands (including BMW and MB) give the volume until the cover (i. e. higher point of the rear seats excluding headrest), including underground. That is why I like that you measure so comparison between cars are better than with manufacturers numbers. What is then often interesting is the volume with all seats down, even if here we see the rear bench is shorter in X5.

One thing I really hate about Mercedes is that giant front logo, some logo even glowing at night 😂. It’s hideous and the car will look ten times better without it.

I might half look like a Porsche on the outside but mechanically its a completely different machine.

The problem is that at the end of the day it's still a van and it was engineered like a van. I've been in a few of these and S classes and they are just not the same experience.

Not sure about that high-class feeling comment but ok... Feels like every other mercedes, now with the ugly hand rest. Mercedes is too far gone, no hope of saving it.

Had a '08 & '13 E-Class. I think I'll take my '13! Talk sensations - or distracted driving......a lot is going on in the dashboard! Pulsating lights with bass........really? You're a Mercedes, not a Lexus! Function, safety, reliability vs gimmicks!
