The longer I have my Microkorg the more I love it. 21 years.

Great video. Well, it is 2024 and I want the Microkorg. Not the Microkorg2, not the white one, not the crystal one, I want exactly this one. I see it is not the most convenient to create a patch, but no idea why people complain of "menu diving" while I see no menus and making a patch does not seem that hard here. I had Mininova years ago when it came out and I loved it, great features, but the Microkorg sound is better.

Good video! Microkorg sounds great (maybe the best sounding of all on its range), but its very limited polyphony drives me nuts! I know delay and reverb can help a lot for faking "release", but it's not the same.

Great video! My PSS470 is one of my favourite instruments I own. Jazz Organ plus stereo symphonic plus vibrato sounds amazing, and you can change the timbre with the Modulation slider. Also the manual bass is awesome. I got mine for £5 in a junk shop, and spent the next couple of days cleaning out battery acid. The high A key is snapped in half, too, but it hasn’t stopped me writing on it a tonne. Sorry, I can't understand why would you brake the case for a line out when you have line outs at the back. On top of that the stereo chorus is phenomenal.

This is a textbook example of how to ' trick_out ' a vintage consumer grade keyboard

$13.50 US .... Back in the day if you wanted to sound like you were doing something, you went to a pawn shop and bought a PA system. That helped with the lo-fi aspect. And to this day if you're playing a small venue or event, that's what you do. Of course nowadays many of us have laptops with a capable processor, memory and hard drive space. Add an audio interface, a VST synth and DAW and as you have so ably demonstrated, one now has a vintage keyboard with enhancements. I absolute agree with you that it should be purchased at a thrift store. You will pay a more than reasonable price. This was good. Keep on, keepin' on 😎

genius ! I just understood something thanks to you : Richard D james and many other electro artist are indeed classical piano composer. They just use electronic instrument to translate it in a different shade. Because 14th original is a piece of classical art , this is the secret of d james. I am pianist and electro composer also, but I wasn't understanding before lesson this cover

I have this Yamaha but also have a Mininova and was planning to record in the notes same as you but alot of time to do and might just be easier to make the sounds in a DAW like Reason.

I payed £10 for one in a charity shop, it's filthy needs a good clean.

I have since added a Zoom G1Xon. I also use a Tascam 4 track recorder that I Received free with a guitar purchase back in 2006 at my local Guitar center. Kick ass set-up! I can blow people away with this set-up

Wheres the link(?) to the speaker>mono mod? Couldnt one just connect one of the RCA out to a mono mixer channel or adapt a RCA-TRS cable perhaps. I just picked up a 470 and PSR36 - ExtFX make these FM synths instant AFX/BOC :D
