I met gorilla years ago and fell in love. Such a kind spirit so insightful and absolutely adored amongst fellow residents. Sad to see he is still on the streets and his addiction has become stronger. Trying to connect with him this holiday though I am hours away. Do you know anyone in the Tenderloin area I might be able to connect with who can see if he is still at the location you found him?

I agree with your approach Peter and the problem to my mind is when methadone was introduced. It was on reducing dosages weekly so that after 90 days or so - you were off it so the idea was okay. They failed to implement it properly to my mind.

Having things of a traumatic nature on our minds is a big trigger for the getting hooked part of the addiction because once one experiences that escapism from those traumatic thoughts it can become an addictive way of trading a past trauma for the future trauma of addiction. My heart goes out to you Clancy! Stay strong 💪
