Wow! I love that song. I got married on Lughnasadh once. 😊
nice
Excellent tutorial! Answers the verse/chorus question very clearly. Thanks JeeWee
@@cornelissteen1018 Thank you, any time!
I have this guitar and it sounds so awsome
It sure does. I don't particularly fancy the inlay work, but it sure sounds awesome.
@@JeeWeeDonkers Of course the inlay work is always a question of taste ;)
Extremely cool!! ❤
If it only were a Tak... ;-)
@JeeWeeDonkers that would be nice, but that one sounds just fine!
Thank you so much….
You are very very welcome!
Maybe! Had it had a repair to the neck / headstock?
Not that I remember. It had a chip of wood missing halfway the neck on the bass side.
Maybe you bought mine, I sold it a couple of years ago. ;-)
Thanks 👍
I have the same guitar, 1978 v300s😊
This video helped me a lot. Thanks!
Any time!
can you tell me more about the guitar i got the same one from my grandfather
Not much really, I had it in for repair for someone else. This one was in the possession of Dutch beat band The Skyriders in the sixties. Drop me a mail at jeewee.donkers@gmail.com and I will connect you with the owner.
it's pity you cannot change it in only one click unfortunately
Define "it" 🤔
@@JeeWeeDonkers I meant one click to stop the verse and start the chorus immediately, and vice versa. it's undoable to clisk ''track slct'' then ''recplay'' while singing.
is there any way to have the second loop play after the first one without having to switch tracks and time it at the end of the loop? thanks :)
You mean automatically alternate between track 1 and 2 and back again? Not that I am aware of... You can start track 2 at the end of track 1 (and vice versa) seamlessly without having to press a button at the very exact time, but you still need to give the command to switch tracks.
Thx. Considering what to buy and not having this would be a dealbreaker.
Exactly! If you need more flexibility you may want to consider the RC600
Interesting comparison, but in my opinion the target groups and genres are totally different. GFS has more chime and a bit thinner to my ear, I prefer the original
That's exactly what I was aiming for ;-)
Hello and congratulations for your channel, I always follow you.. I wanted to ask you for some info: I have the RC500 and I would like to know if it is possible to start the song by creating a drum kit with the guitar "but not letting the public hear it and therefore not letting it go out from the speakers" but simply record it in the RC and then use it for example in the middle of the song, maybe there is a function? Thank you!
Of course you can record a percussion track with your guitar before your performance, store it in a memory patch and play it at the moment you are performing.
When I do that, the sync with my Beatbuddy pedal goes away.
That's too bad. Unfortunately I can't help you with this, I have no experience with the BeatBuddy
Is there anyway you can switch between the tracks using only the track select switch button? Having to hit the track select button and then the play button every time would be a pain.
If you reprogram your buttons 1 and 2 to Rec/Play/Dub Stop etc for each track respectively, you will be able to achieve just that.
Awesome instrumental fingerstyle acoustic guitar cover, JeeWee. Congratulations !
Merci bien!
Is there a way at to Stop drift ? Seems like as a song progresses the guitar and the drums don’t match
Check my other video, specifying this very topic: th-cam.com/video/S-pqgi_PvXs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=3K5ujx269mMJio_p
This is a great guitar. I did a video comparing this with my old & cheap & beloved Epiphone, and the difference is clear (in live even clearer). I love them both.Check: th-cam.com/video/jVJYA-rnVKc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ZyQ5aMqf6U8oBIrQ
Hi, bonjour bravo JeeWee !!! I like what you do, great rendition, I subscribed to your channel !!!! I'm a 71 years old french guy and I cover the greatest hits of my youth the 60' !!!! Sure you will like !!!!! Would you please be so kind and have a look at it !!! I dream to have 400 memberships till my 72th birthday !!!! Would you be so kind and help me to realize that ? Thanks a lot in advance, friendly greetings from France
Hi Jeewee, Thanx for this video. It helps me a lot to understand my RC-500. In this video you switch from Track 1 to Track 2 by clicking first Track Select, and then Rec/Play. I wonder if its possible to make this switch by just one click. For example to use my FS-7 for this. I presume this can be done by using the assings? Or is this not possible....?
Hi Arie, Thank you, any time! I think you can do that for instance by assigning Track 1 rec/play/stop to button 1 and Track 2 rec/play/stop to button 2. While recording track 1, hit track 2 rec and it should switch right away.
Hey man how are you! How do you make the loop you recorded star back from the beginning? Example..if i stop the loop in the middle of the recording and i push play again it will start back at a certain spot....i dont want that. When i stop it and then re engage it id like to have it start always from the beginning...is it possible? Thanks a lot
There is. In the Play menu - Play Mode select Single, that should do the trick.
Yeah I forgot to mention that im using the rhythm machine on....and if i use the single mode i cant use both channels..i dont think there's a way around this unfortunately
♥️
Beautiful! The way that you keep the cords going with the added melody is different than a lot of fingerstyle. You said in the comments to request a tutorial. Yea! It might be a bit complex without a tab but I would give it a try.
Thank you! Yes indeed I have been cooking up my own kind of style over the years. I'll do my best for tabs as well!
@@JeeWeeDonkers Thanks for the reply. To attempt to describe what I like about this. You are using a very simple finger picking pattern 1, 2, 3, 4. I do this also, or another go to pattern that I like is 1, 2, 3 + 4, 2. I find that a more complex finger picking pattern isn’t necessarily necessary. A simple pattern can sound good. Then, by keeping the finger picking pattern simple makes it easier to add interest with nice cords and melody notes. You have managed a full complex vocal melody intermixed with keeping the finger picking pattern going. I have never accomplished that much. I suspect something that helps is that vocal melodies often use many notes from the cords. So the trick may be hitting those notes at the right time. I suppose I am asking how you approached adding the vocal melody to the cords. Probably you worked through it one bar at a time needing to invent fingerings and intermixed cord notes for each melody note. Not easy. Of course, starting from this absolutely beautiful vocal melody helps!
Such a gorgeous song and melody. Beautifully played!
Thank you!
So good!
Thank you!
Really good performance my friend!
Thanx man!
100% good job!
Thank you!
Hi JeeWee, dank voor je videos! Ik zal verder gaan in Engels ;-). Thanx for the videos about the RC -500. I got myself a RC-500 since last week, and just playing with it to see what it can do. Your videos are very helpful. Next step I have to make is to set this up with my Boss GT-1000. But there are some issues. My GT-1000 is connected with 2 XLR cables to the FOH and with 1 jack cable to my Headrush 108 FRFR on stage monitor. So the FOH gets a stereo signal from my GT-1000 and I have myself a mono signal through my Headrush on stage. This allows me to adjust the volume on stage of my Headrush without effecting the FOH volume. Very useful. But... if I want to bring in the RC-500? Where to put it? Best for me should be that my guitar signal is first going through my RC-500, and then to my GT-1000 because then I can keep my FOH and stage setting as it is. But when my guitar goes first through the RC-500, and then through my GT-1000,.. I think I cannot use the GT-1000 effects anymore ... I guess. Or, maybe make a Send/Return loop in my GT-1000? DO you have any advice for me? Thanx in advance.
Graag gedaan jongen! My suggestion would be to put the RC500 in the effects loop of the GT1000. Like that, you can keep your output routing as it is to FOH and your monitors. Key is to put the loop after your guitar amp modelling to prevent unwanted distortion in the drum sounds and stacked loops.
great son ans voice buddy!!!! Many thx again from south of France!
Thanx!
hahaaaaaaaa nice job!! Just 2 days ago I was lock-in out like a lost cat in various shops to get a gear for street music....here it is with my RC500 thanks to u!!!

Does this mean the drums will no longer auto detect your playing bpm ?
If you want them to start right away, no. There's nothing the drums can set the tempo on, right? If you start recording a loop without drums and kick them in later, auto detection will function as normal.
@@JeeWeeDonkers thanks for the quick reply. So does that mean the drums will be at the chorus tempo or versus tempo?
That depends in what you record first. The RC will determine the tempo from the first recording.
Bit I also suggest you check this other video of mine, in which drums are included. th-cam.com/video/S-pqgi_PvXs/w-d-xo.html
Can this be achieved with midi program change? If I wanted to use both tracks in each loop or to chain more than 2 loops it would make this method impractical, is there any barrier to using external program change to chain loops?
On the RC500 you cannot use series and parallel loops together, not directly and not via Midi. The RC600 on the other hand will be able to do that. It has six loops that can be used in various modes.
Like you asked at 1:07, I'm doing my part in hopes you make more videos like this. I've liked this video, subsribed to the channel, and this is my comment.
Thank you for this. I got an RC-500 today, coming from an RC-5. The RC-5 and RC-500 are 90% the same. Thank you for making the other 10% easy.
Any time!
