มุมมอง 1522 หลายเดือนก่อน
A small snippet of my version of House of the Rising Sun, soon to be found on my new upcoming all-instrumental album. I am playing a Takamine P5DC I have been restoring the electronics of, plus some minor fretwork. Awesome guitar.
You've got a Friend - acoustic instrumental
มุมมอง 1532 หลายเดือนก่อน
A short rendition of my interpretation of the great Caro,l kings'"You've got a Friend", also to be heard on my upcoming all-instrumental album. Enjoy! I am playing a 2013 Takamine TSF48C that I have been doing fretwork on today for a client. It is a pity "I already have a guitar", because this one would be a great pair with my PSF95...

Late to the party here! Nevertheless im so glad i found this melodic, superbly played version of this tune. I had to play it a number of times to really immerse myself in its warmth. Thsnk you for this.
@@531c Thank you, and you're very welcome. This song is on the short list for my upcoming solo acoustic album, so stay tuned for updates!
Hi JeeWee, amazing review! I’d like to correct some information. Tagima is a Brazilian brand that produces high-end guitars, particularly for the international market. In Brazil, they offer affordable guitars comparable to Squier, providing great value for the price. This specific guitar may resemble an H2 but isn’t; it’s a handmade model from the brand’s early era, (1990’s) crafted by Japanese-Brazilian master luthier Seizi Tagima, who is also the brand’s founder. I’m pretty sure there isn’t a second example of this one as it really is custom made model!

Thanks for the video, it really helped me figure this out. In order to make it work for me, I had to set track 2 to "loop sync: OFF", otherwise it might switch into the middle of the 2nd loop rather than the beginning of it (when the loops are different lengths). Also, I might have to upgrade to that dual footswitch!
You're very welcome! Indeed that is something to take note of. The setup used on the video works with my context (8 bar loop A en 2 bar loop B) bit in other circumstances it can work out wrong.
So in addition to assigning different functions to the foot switches, you can assign more than one function per footswitch? Is two functions the limit, or can you do more?
@@hkrangers There is a maximum of 8 assigns on the RC500 and yes, you can assign all the to a single button.
Wow! I've seen many upgrade videos on TH-cam, but I've never seen one where someone downgrades from great Super 58s to crappy, bottom-of-the-barrel GFS pickups! Nice thinking outside the box there!
LOL I have never let any common conception stand in the way of experimenting with my hardware. ;-)
Tell me more about that SF40!!
Great guitar! I bought it from someone who had it in a closet without strings for over ten years, but the neck was still impeccable. Cedar top, mahogany back and sides and a Santa Fe eagle inlay at the 12th fret. Sweet and understated.
Nice Roel Sloot on the wall
@@spaceman103 it's not a Roel Sloot though, it's a Mari Donkers.
👏👏🔝👌
the magic of open tunings! love it!!
Thank you!
Thanx! And the funny thing is, it isn't really an open tuning! I use a partial capo stretching over three strings (A D G) at the seventh fret. The strings are tuned standard. ;-)
@@JeeWeeDonkers cool inspiration
What would say a guitar like that is worth$?
Anywhere between €500 and €1000 would be my guess. As this particular one was part of an important piece of Dutch rock 'n' roll heritage, it's probably more.
I mean I have the RC10....and I just don't see the 500 as an upgrade. They took away so many drum presets....the 10 has 270 with different patterns for verse and chorus...and the 500 you have to do what he does in the video....how is that an upgrade from the 10?
It's not. The RC500 is an upgrade of the RC30, which had 9 non-editable drum patterns. I consider that an upgrade. The RC10 is a dedicated foot operated drum machine that can also do loops.
Nice
i ahve similar set up however when recording on track 2 it takes awhile to complete recording . Track 1 is never an issue . Anyone? Is the unit defective? I did buy used , updated firmware etc , any help appreciated
@@garycrouse1918 possibly either your track 2 measure is set to auto and your track stop is set to loop end, making the rc wait for the end of the loop time to stop recording.
Incredible. Thank you so much

@@emiliomartinez7132 you are welcome!
NICE version! That Takamine looks almost identical to my Tak EN10C which also has a cedar top and which has been my workhorse guitar for about 35 years. It's on its third set of frets and still going strong. They're great, bullet-proof guitars for a gigging musician and they're really, really nice to play. Keep the songs coming! 👍
Thanks man! Really appreciated! Tama indeed are bullet proof gigging instruments, and they sound phenomenal as well :-)

I watched hoping you were ghoing to show us around the guitar instead I got you playing, it was dull
I am sorry my dull playing has disappointed you deeply.
@@JeeWeeDonkers Its not the playing, it was the lack of a review.
im trying to figure out how to have the rc 500 to set bpm to my playing.
@@mixermantim Memory - Tempo should fix that.
Great song, great use of the looper! This deserves way more likes and way more comments.
Thanx! I had almost forgotten myself about this video 😂
Overall good video. I had a problem with different measure loops. The looping track one which was the longer one started from the middle of the loop it didn't start at the beginning. I decided if I take Loop sync off on the second track this would free it up so it doesn't align with track one which is a different measure length. It seemed to work so I kept all your settings except on track two I put track sync off. This seemed to do the trick and I haven't noticed any issues with the drumming out of time. But really I haven't tried it for any length of time to be sure. The other setting I changed was loop end instead of immediate this way when I click the button for the next track it wouldn't start playing until the verse was finished or the chorus was finished. I think I did the same thing in memory mode where it asks Loop end
You have tackled a couple of RC500 issues very well, good job!
Great song
@@JUNKHOUSEDOG Thanx!

@@tudorverde Thank you!

whered you get the pedalboard? great video
This is an older model from Holeyboard by Chemistrydesign. They don't make these wooden types anymore, but they do make an excellent aluminium version these days. holeyboardpedalboards.com/
Fg and pm are identical except for the upgraded tuners and tailpiece ( most fg 's don't come with bigsby, they arrive with an ordinary plain tailpiece)
Almost. The PM has a one piece mahogany neck without a volute, the FG has a three piece maple neck with a volute. And of course the PM has one pickup, instead of two.
Je speelt mooi man. En wat klinken die oudere Takamine eigenlijk prachtig.
@@maurice3chordskid456 Dank je wel! En ja, het is één van mijn favoriete gitaarmerken.

@@richardholston8769 Thanx!
hi i'm thinking of buying this guitar from someone, I was just wondering how you describe its sound? is it boomy or more balanced amongst mids bass and highs?
@@Aldred839 Not boomy at all. The Koa wood of the back and sides isn't like that. "Airy" and "transparent" are words that are more coming to my mind. If you listen to the concluding finger picked lines of this recording, you'll hear what I mean. My cedar/rosewood DN45C (same body shape) is definitely more bass heavy.
thank you. That was very helpfull!

??? WAY TOO COMPLICATED. This is not standard musical language. Obviously the people at Boss who make these loopers aren't real musicians --- they are computer programmers and electronics technicians. Someone needs to explain to them that what musicians need is a looper with BAR STRUCTURES that are the basis of 99% of popular music. Whether it's 8 bar-12-bar-16 bar- folk/blues/country/rock and roll, or 32 bar form of classic jazz standards etc, they need to speak musically. What you are demonstrating with "Verse-Chorus" is way too limited. We need the ability to create song forms easily, and this is not the way. We need to write "A-B-A" or "A-B-C-A" or "A-B-A-B" or "A-B-C-D" or other standard variations including "Intro" and "Outro" etc.
Fair enough and I definitely don't want to defend Boss approach for two track looping. 😅 If you want to work with more complicated loops, try the RC600. This will give you 6 independent loops in series or parallel, whatever you desire. Or get yourself a Sheeran unit for triple the price. My approach shown here is to illustrate the fact that you can use verse-chorus looping even if you don't know the amount of measures for every part, for instance when improvising (which I do a lot). I don't use pre recorded loops. Intros and outros - even bridges - aren't usually played multiple times, so I don't needs loops for that.
@@livepoetssociety-NL and by the way, this 👆🏼 is me too.

I only know two words in Dutch and both of them are wrong. Still, I thought this was a pretty song.
Thank you. Did the captions work out already?

Hi. Is it possible to play a drum rhythm to hear but without recording it onto any loop track
@@petercurran1956 yes it is. Check your Input/Output settings: if Rhythm output is set to Loop it will be recorded, but you can set it to outputs as well.
