Wildlife photography in Washington State, often from a kayak, sometimes just from hiking. I'm an amateur photographer who especially loves to photograph bald eagles and ospreys. Primarily shooting with a Sony RX10M4 camera.
Lake Sammamish eaglet flapping in nest, then takes a poop.
Spot and Clare had just one eaglet this season, so he get's all the attention. He's flapping now, and then takes a poop out the nest. The nest was 100-150 yards away so video resolution isn't so good unfortunately.

Initially 2 adults and 4 offspring, then one leaves, and finally the male adult kicks one of the offspring off the branch. Not sure why he wasn't happy with that one.

Spot was on the nest for an hour, then came to the lake to cool off and rest.

Finally in the right place at the right time, got a sequence of photos of this osprey with legs extended and talons spread, getting a perch. She gave them a couple breaks along the way, funny watching the little ones trying to keep up with mommy!

I followed these two young beavers in the water for a bit, then they went at it!
American mink in Marymoor Park.

I saw this mink on a log around 9am on the shore of the park, then followed it for 10 minutes taking photos.

7:30am, same beaver as the day before, on shore chowing down some lake weeds.

This beaver was grooming and massaging his fur, then started eating twigs he had collected.

Saw several beavers around 8am on the shores of the lake, eating and tail slapping.
Lake Sammamish bald eagles, pair#3 calling out, greeting each other.

This pair hasn't mated yet, still getting nest ready. The female was calling out for 20 minutes, then the male shows up next to her (left in video) on the high tree branch. After 5 min together, the male then flies to their old nest, grabs nesting material and takes to their new nest. Then the female dives down to the shore below the tree and grabs more nesting material and heads to the new nest.

Amazing! What a sight ❤. The 2 that flew off may have been fledglings from another nest, for the adults to have acted that way. Awesome capture!

This was outside my kitchen window, he was guarding his feeder from this perch.
Increible hasta para cazar son majestuosos y muy respetuosos con la presa. Cubre con sus alas a la victima al momento de terminar su vida para ofrecerla como alimento de supervivencia a su prole. Los animales jamas cazan por gusto sino por instinto de supervivencia.

What happened to the nest? July 15 no sign of it!
Was there today and the whole nest is gone
I went out of town on 7-11, heard it fell between 7-13 and 7-14. Guessing the eaglets knocked it down during fledging.
Gary, thanks for your videos. I just walked by and the nest seems to have fallen. Please let us know if you see the eaglets around elsewhere. - Carl
I haven't seen them at the nest tree since this occured... I have seen lots of juvi's around the north end of Lake Sammamish, but not sure it's these two.
The hawk's nest and the vulture's nest look alike.
