This cut off technique is typically used when you are not fast enough to change your angle and travel flat across your crease with a player making a hard power move to your far side from a sharp short side position. It has to be done perfectly or it results in a goal against. Learn to use it only in the situations in which it is necessary, and be explosive when you decide to use it.
