    Hello Sir, I hope this message finds you well. First of all, I want to thank you for the amazing content you share. Your videos are incredibly helpful and inspiring, and I truly appreciate the effort you put into them. I was wondering if you could make a video demonstrating an easier or modified way to do the breaststroke? I am 64 years old and have asthma, which makes it difficult for me to keep my head underwater for long periods of time. I still want to enjoy swimming and improve my technique without straining myself too much. A video addressing this would mean a lot to me and possibly to others in a similar situation. Thank you so much for your consideration, and I look forward to seeing more of your great content!

    I'm a beginner (started in September) and your videos have helped immensely. I was scared of putting my face in the water but really wanted to try floating face down - so when we were in the Training pool I did your suggestion of putting my hands on the steps, relaxing and letting them gently float up. It worked! Now I am enjoying the experience of floating face down, and thanks to you I can also roll over and back again 😊

    Hi, thank you for your excellent video. I can swim just a little bit but struggle with breathing, so I am always stopping after 30 seconds of taking off. I am 69 yo (now retired) and would like to develop my swimming skills. I am accustomed to breathing in through my nose and out through my mouth. Most of the videos I watch seems to suggest the opposite. How do I practice to get the breathing rhythm changed to in thru mouth out thru nostrils for swimming?

      Hi @Fatima Fawad - thank you SO MUCH for posting. This is such an important topic and I am eager to help you with it. --- Here are the high-level points: - We have to establish more trust - Trust is established by KNOWING your skill level more - To KNOW your skill level more, spend much more time practicing in shallow water only. 2-3 times per week [45 minutes per session] for a month - Once you have completed this, begin swimming from shallow water to deep water with a wall at your side. Take your time and enjoy the process. You CAN do it, it just requires more practice! Keep Swimming, Coach Jeff

    I am in my 50s learning to swim and treading water has been the hardest thing. I am still fearful of the deep end because I have not come even close to treading water for 3 seconds. Watching your videos are helping a lot with my confidence, showing me that there are many ways to get the same result, and that is why I subscribed to the channel.

    • @caribeswim
      @caribeswim 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you for your comment. The biggest thing is that treading is the OUTCOME not the process. I highly recommend starting at my the beginning of my Learn to Swim With Me series here: th-cam.com/play/PL9waKnU8b_xdTXKh0Feq5CURjsL-ViMmB.html Build a TRUSTING foundation in shallow water. Follow each video step by step. Treading water will happen once you know how to be 100% relaxed, how to take a proper deep breath for buoyancy and once you fully trust the water. Treading water is only about 5-10% technique. --- Keep Swimming, Coach Jeff

    Goood video. I am a quiet swimmer. My feet never break the surface, and my legs never sink. I'm fluid, so I always wonder about the feet breaking the surface for sound. Body position is always horizontal--one goggle and ear in the water when turning to breathe. Of course, lifting the head will cause the legs to sink. 😊

    10:42 what is your view on coaches recommending to blow buubles so that your chest becomes less bouyant and you leg raises above. Will this help you to keep you in horizontal position?

    • @caribeswim
      @caribeswim 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I think this is pretty poor advice. We do NOT need our legs to be on the surface in a horizontal static float and having "too much air" is NOT the reason your legs are sinking. More air is better! Do not over think this. --- Thanks! Coach Jeff

    I honestly thought I was the only person in the world that could only swim from point A to B without the ability to stop because I didn't know how to tread water. Can't wait to try these techniques. Maybe I'll actually like going swimming more often

    I was told by an instructor that the egg beater saves energy!?! I find it difficult to do and use a modified dog paddle.

    So when we take a deep diaphragmatic inhale in to hold our breath, how empty should I let the air out of my lungs before taking another deep breath? …or should I keep taking mini breaths in too keep my lungs more full of air? Hope I am not too confusing

      This depends on what technique or movement you are doing. It applies mainly to non moving [static] floats, relaxation, etc. When you start swimming freestyle, it will only be possible to take a dia breath before pushing off, then normal breathing as you progress. --- There is a great principle: 100 & 50. 100% inhale and 50% exhale. --- Hope this helps!
