Microsoft Xbox One S Review: Redemption of Microsoft's Troubled 3rd Console
มุมมอง 1443 หลายเดือนก่อน
Released in 2013, the Xbox One was the follow up to the greatly successful Xbox 360. Things looked promising at the console's reveal event, however Microsoft unfortunately dropped the ball. With a high price tag, planned always online DRM, odd console design, & Kinect requirements, the Xbox One wasn't off to a good start. Microsoft did reverse some controversial decisions throughout the console...
ZapIt GameWave Review: Canada's Exclusive "Game Console"
มุมมอง 36K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
Released in 2005, this rather obscure game console, exclusive to Canada, aimed to be a DVD player/game console hybrid for playing games with the entire family. Most games ranged from basic puzzle games to trivia games & even some...biblical games? Overall, the GameWave was a massive flop with only about 70,000 units sold before being discontinued in 2009. While the console is pretty rare, price...

by some coincidence, i have this same exact netbook and operating system. can you please explain how you got the wifi to work (if you did)
I'm in love with these things, If i didn't need to use a lot of modern-day javascript loaded websites for work etc i'd daily drive one :( all my on-the-go gaming needs are covered by emulation
It looks like all those netbooks from 2008-2011 have the same keyboard.
this was me back in 2010, doing a video presentation assignment for school. that was hell. NEVER AGAIN!
you might be able to get a 720p footage to play smoothly on the netbook if they're encoded with DivX or Xvid (including plain H.263) But if the CPU struggle with 360p H.264 videos, then I might overestimate the grunt these Intel Atoms possesses.
ever tried the ambient sounds of nature? I bet you look like a hunchback
LMAO
I have a thing for obscure mini form factor gaming PCs by OEMs during the early-to-mid 2010s
Need to gut mine out but can’t find anything for it
where did tu buy the 360 console?
I got it from a local shop that sells everything from games & game consoles to movies, music, & even books back in 2017.
I just dusted mine off. Forza Horizon 4 plays at 1080p on Very Low settings and still gets 60fps. It's a beast!
I’m trying to take out the gpu because it’s dusty, how do I take it out
Man, this should’ve been the launch model instead of the VCR.
I totally agree!
Nice that you showed different games with different graphical settings, for people to get a good idea of what it's still capable of. Picked up one of these too and I gotta say these things are really nice and compact. Very surprisingly compact. I like how an Xbox One controller can easily be synced to it with Bluetooth and it fits nicely in the living room where it looks much smaller than any other consoles from the last decade and providing the versatility of a light gaming PC.
Is it stock or what upgrades were done?
Upgraded. Maxed out RAM at 16GB, 1TB SSD, & 4th gen Core i7 processor.
pci 6200 would be a great upgrade
I should track one of those down!
I'm a 40 year old Canadian, and I never heard of that console ever lol
Hey its Canadian NUON!😂
I live your channel. You really should make a set for filming. Get your self a nice desk and a back drop, get your self a tripod to mount your camera. Record the footage of the computer and the repair first then add narration over the video with some background music. If you do that more people will subscribe. Do restoration and modification videos.
Im going to subscibe. Can you please restore it? Do like a series of videos ordering new parts, painting it, ect. Ide like to watch that
I feel like laptop collecting is going to blow up. For a while nobody bought old laptops. Yesterday i was trying to get a hp ze5170 for my collection and it sold for 110. For a basic hp consumer notebook from 2003. Its becoming much harder to find nice xp laptops so many have been scrapped they are becoming like windows 98 machines.
It's basically the same architecture that the Thinkcentre is based on too. They just put a different front plate and bios logo.. not a huge difference and that makes sense from a business perspective, but to think an actual business machine is shared with a consumer cost cutter special is a little insulting. Granted each line has different options to be distinctive from one another but where the rubber hits the road it's still the same machine essentially. That i5 isn't too far from the i7 7700. It's not a huge bump. They both kinda stink for any real work these days but more than enough power to do some light gaming, surfing, and of course office work.
I do maintenance at some complexes and this is what the tenants expect with a bathroom fan lol
@@IntegerOfDoom That'd be amazing😂
Are the games locked to the system or can you play them on any DVD player?
I've wondered the same thing! I may have to try it myself!
I found issues with the punisher ps2 emulator changed a few things boom thing works like a dream i use mine as a emulation station too now
It's actually not Canada exclusive, my parents got one somewhere around 2006 or so as a part of a US release test sorta thing. It didn't actually get properly released here, I think.
5:17 bug crawling across the carpet.
The ant go marching through our house every summer no matter what we do, hurrah hurrah.😆😆
Imagine you're a kid and this is the only thing you ever knew about video games.
I'd feel sooo bad for them.☹
@@techtechboom9339 Some equally sad is having access to those good consoles like SNES, but never being able to get ahold of the banger games.
@@HydeSkull I can relate, especially growing up with a Wii & getting shovelware for Christmas😅. (PS. I love the Wii, it does still have some good games)
@@techtechboom9339 I got to play some of the good SNES games at other people's houses, but my own library was pretty weak lol. I think Mario Kart was my best game.
You said 2005? I figured this would be a mid 90's flop.
You'd think, but in my opinion, it arrived 5+ years too late.
Guilty of frog! 🐸
Ahhhhhahahahaa.... Lame
I bought this at a yard sale several years ago... who is jealous?
Welcome to the GameWave club! 😆👍
do this again, but show it running Bazzite Please? lol
ryzen 7 8700g cpu in consol, 1TB SSD , 16GB ddr5,GIGABYTE B650I AX,steam OS/windows11 run
Damn thats nice. I have a question for you. I have W11 on mines but not sure its active. I know im asking for a lot here but im trying to push UE5 on this, I have another main pc but I Like this Alienware Alpha r1
A built in controller holder is kinda neat
As a kid back in the 1990s, I remember everyone on my block being jealous of Jimmy’s GameWave. It was THE hot console that year just barely beating out the Nintendo and Sega at a close
I own a Game Wave and bought it at the time of release. Can't recall where. I'm not in Canada and they shipped to the US, so I'm not sure how "exclusive to Canada" it actually was. One of the great things they used to do on the web site was a weekly trivia contest where you could win a free game. Almost no one ever entered and I won enough times to get every game except 4 Degrees, Bible Edition and the last one, Quiz Konnect.
4 years and you only have 2 comments which absolutely sucks
Perhaps I should do more RTC stuff in the future! They're pretty fun to make, even if they don't get a lot of views.
That clear side looks rad!
until that liberal tool is out of office canada is dead to me, shame on yall for your bullshit
Being from Canada, it originally came with 'a boot disk' which was labelled "About disk" 😳
9:55 : don't be i turned it down
If youre too stupid to turn off dynamic lighting, foliage and coronas along with fog distance for better framerate thats on you..
Nothing good comes from Canada. Also Canada is liberal garbage. 👎
holy shit I just saw one of these things today
Example of why I don’t buy anything Canadian 😂
That is one strange looking console cool it could play old dvds
When you buy a games "console" from Dollarama
It was called a LameWave when it was out. A lot of investors lost their money.
I can't believe Canada didn't make a Terrance and Phillip game for this.
Sounds like a CDI knockoff
Similar concept though.
