    Was thinking more about the servicing on the SF. I’ll easily be doing 600km each weekend. The 24000km Desmo service will come quick… essentially every year (given that I won’t drive 3 months of the year - ice rain etc) I’ll have the desmo service, which will be the guts of €2000 on top of the €320 oil/air filter service. Basically €3000 a year including tires. That seems a bit mad. I can see why, for the same retail price people choose the Multi.

      Hey Mark. Sounds like you be thoroughly enjoying the bike though so worth it. My bike is a total loss I think. I currently in Aberdeen hospital have been since 1st June. I underwent 7 hours or surgery yesterday to rebuild my pelvis and femur. Old codger pulled out in front of the two cars in front of me causing them to react and I crashed into the back of the one in front of me. Have only seen pics of my bike from my hospital bed and it's bad.

    I just want to ask how is the low end tractablity like riding at 50 to 60 kmph in 5th or 6th gear. Did you miss the use of cruise control in sfv4?

    • @RoadstoRidges
      @RoadstoRidges 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You couldn't ride it at those speeds in 5th or 6th gear. It would labour the engine too much. It needs more revs than that.

      @@RoadstoRidges got it. In india we have speed limits 60 kmph in most city roads. That’s why I asked about low speed tractability. In highway it is not an issue. @soumyaprakashsahoo4120 that's a pretty low speed limit. It would be low revs approx 3000rpm in 5th gear at 60kph. The bike would pull but not hard. It really should a a couple of gears lower

      @RoadstoRidges 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks Mark. I wouldn't say any of the mods were must haves. I'm 6ft 3inches so not many standard screens or seats are the perfect height. Exhaust I wanted a much louder bike so went for the full Akra system. The EVO map is part of the package from Ducati. Fully warrantied. Brakes didn't need upgrading. The pads wore out and i switched the compound to the fast road version and they have more initial bite. Stock pads were great too.

    I never asked my dealer and it seems to differ fom place to place, but, did you get both the pillion seat cover and the pillion seat and pegs? They said they won’t do anything for cash , it’s all about encouraging you to get pcp/HP now which I refuse to do. But I’m going to try get the pillion seat and first service for free if handing them 30k ffs! Even if I’ve to walk in with a briefcase of cash 😂 Have you tried 2 up on the bike yet? Hello mate. Wasn't a complaint more of an observation that the clutch is very direct. As you say it's a race bike and amazing that it's as civilised as it is around town with 208bhp to play with. Love the bike. Everything feels amazing at speed such as suspension etc when it's further into the stroke under load.

      @@RoadstoRidges I’ve heard similar from other channels 👍 . No litre bike is going to be great. I suppose we’re lucky we live in Europe (well, I do 😉 😉 😂), we’ve petrol stations every couple of kms/miles so it’s not a big problem. To be honest after 2 hours of even driving even my van I’ve to get out for a coffee/a piss etc, so 🤷‍♂️ I am tempted by the large tank on the Multistrada v4 rally. I just can’t get over the looks of ADV type bikes though. If I’m spending €30k on something I want to drool over it! Service price is a bit nuts and I’d expect more expensive in Ireland 🙄 it is Ducati after all , so again it’s expected.

    • @RoadstoRidges
      @RoadstoRidges 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It's really not bad at all. 120 miles from a tank is easily achievable and as you say you want to stretch legs and go for a piss by then. Bike is awesome and every ride is an occasion. Also, if you’re going to change the gas cap to aftermarket, you might want to eliminate the charcoal canister because any “overfill” will clog the canister and bike will run like trash and also create pressure in the tank.

    Does the service book say to adjust it on the side stand or paddock stand? When the back wheel is off the floor the chain is lengthened hence when you lower the bike back to the ground the distance between the sprockets reduces and more slack appears in the chain.

      Hey Ruben. Fantastic! Great choice. I hope you've had chance to get some running in miles done. No I've not had the revs dip on start up. We have a crazy cold start in Europe to get the cats up to temp quickly so it revs away at over 2000 for about 10-15 seconds. Might be worth a chat with your dealer. Not sure if the cold start is a mechanical setting or something in the software. I'm sure it will be a simple fix for you. 🙂

Once the new driveway and garage is in, I may be tempted to buy earlier than planned 🤔 My wife doesn’t have a full ‘A’ licence here yet but is planning on doing . Looking at duke 390 as first bike. Stunning. 🤩 I’m getting one December coming. Really love the black/grey, although in person the red looks fantastic. What made you go black. I wonder if colour affects resale value … not that it matters I suppose. Didn’t notice much between base and S version. On paper it’s better but I’m never going to use on track. Standard suspension was excellent. Not sure it justifies the extra €3000 (Ireland). Thoughts?

      Hi Mark. I bet December can't come soon enough. I was giving serious thought to the red. I didn't like the all black logos. I prefer the red lettering on the black and grey. Plus hardly see any in the new grey nero colour yet. Both look amazing though so you will love it. I went with the S as I noticed a big difference between riding modes in the compliance and control of the suspension on different surface conditions. I like having that instant adjustability at the push of a few buttons. The roads in the Highlands vary considerably. Some areas have fantastic smooth tarmac and others are badly broken up. Allows me to quickly soften of adjust the settings rather than rattle my brain if it's too stiff. Also the forged wheels and lithium battery save a good few kilos. The bike is so flickable. Didn't test ride the standard bike so can't comment on the difference in riding feel. Will be really interested to hear what you think about yours when it arrives.

    That's a slip on exhaust can? Wow, it's loud when the engine gets going! Great video, thank you! I been looking at the 790 - 23 model. I see the KTM has the 23 890 DukeR on sale at just under $2K off - $10, 999 USD. Maybe with the re-intro of the 790 std Duke, and new 990 Duke, the 890 series goes away? Because you have to know there will be a 990 Duke R or Evo. But for me as a casual "older" rider, the 23 790 checks all the boxes. Plus, it is on sale too for $7,999 USD (US - Texas Prices) At basically $3K less money, do I really need the 890 DukeR spec to have a good time? And I could get some of the other goodies, like quick shifter, cruise, (tech package) and USB charge plug and a new jacket to boot!

      Yeah just an end can. Adds a nice bit of bass but not obnoxious. Great choice on the new 790. Are they offering it with uprated suspension internals for extra? @@RoadstoRidges No, suspesion upgrades, standard 790 Duke. however, I think you can order through dealer and have dealer install. They actually had 2 upgrades; one with standard adjustment for spring preload and rebound dampeningh adjustment. They also listed a "premium" one with slow and fast rebound adjustments. of course there were no ptrices listsed, you had to get that from their dealers. Maybe they took away for the 2023? Leo Vince makes a mid-pipe that completely eliminates any cat. Since I have experience with Ducati USA"s warranty service I don't want to jeopardize my warranty. They had to completely remove my engine to fix an oil weep, all under warranty.

Crazy that Ducati USA won't touch it given it's a Ducati approved part.
