Acer, in the summer tradition of Okinawa.
Acer is one of Okinawa’s traditional performing arts closely related to mainland Japan’s Bon dancing,
and is primarily performed by youth associations from regions all across the island, with each having their own form of dancing,
and is performed during the night of Kyu Bon.
Every year, as Kyu Bon approaches, the “chim boom boom” from the beating of the taikos can be heard from every community center.
After school and work is over, members of youth associations in each region gather together end commit themselves to Acer.

They relentlessly practice in preparation for Michi Junee, or street parade, held during Kyu Bon, as this event is the main obligation of Acer,
When someone sees Acer for the first time, it is most certain that they feel like they have been struck in the chest.
The inspiration accompanied by this euphoric feeling is expressed in the Okinawa language as “Chimu Don Don.”
Why is the soul of the viewer so deeply moved❔
It may be because of the sound of the taikos or the gallant dance displayed by the young men end women.

with pride and spirit as they dance the Acer of their quote.
