Looking for new prospects in Virginia and I stumbled across a place well worn out by the old timers. But maybe there's just a little shiny left for me to find.

There's flood gold to be found on the creeks in Virginia, if you just get out there and do a little leg work. The Gold Claw production plan is great for reducing pay dirt to cons quickly. And the micro Dream Mat is hard to beat for catching fine flood gold.

Cover seed in a new food plot... Put the tiller in neutral and let the tines walk over the soil. Not as good as a culipacker, but better than nothing. Drag a longing chain behind and just enough soil moves cover all the broadcasted seed.

I've used this setup for 3 growing seasons and not one deer has set foot in my garden. I do this with an electric fence, but if you prefer non-electric, that might work, too. As I learned, it's not about how high your barrier is, it's about how wide it is.

I use Giant Miscanthus along the west and north borders of my Back To Eden garden to protect against cold winds and harsh afternoon sun. Every March I cut the bamboo-like stalks of miscanthus giganteus back so that new stems will grow unimpeded. This year I tried using my Samurai pruning saw. And after finding the right technique, it did a great job. But I didn't get away unscathed. I bought my...

I'm loving it man. I get through two pans worth of material in about 60 seconds. Much faster than I can do it with a regular pan. And my tests show me I'm not losing any gold with it. The only down side is you need fairly deepwater to run it.

@@Farmtractor yeah it works - my problem was corrosion in the negative battery cable, specificially there was a join with a fancy gel protected fitting thing that was introducing a lot of resistance. It's kind of odd that they came with 2 shorter cables joined rather than 1 longer cable. Anyway it just took some cleanup of the metal to get it running again. I don't think my FEL is as strong as it should be - not sure why.

@@Farmtractor If you're handy and can do your own wrenching, it's not a bad little tractor. I wouldn't call it tough by any means, but it gets the mowing and bucket work done that I need. I did have to rebuild the hydraulic cylinder in the power steering and weld the cylinder mount back on after it sheered the bolts off. Just a crappy design if you ask me. Some day I'll upgrade and buy a good tractor, but this gets the job done as long as I do my part.

Good luck. I put the lower wires at about knee high, and the upper wire just above my waste. But with your 8 foot fence, you might only need to run a single wire around the outside, about 4 feet from the higher fence, and be good to go.

It's an older model HandyCam, probably 10 years old or so. Can't recall the model number as it was borrowed from a friend and as now been returned to him. The T20 is an 850 nm. I tested with a different 940, and the results were too dim. Many IR sensors aren't tuned to pick up 940nm very well, the result being a dimmer scene.
