bro your the man thank you these other videos skip out the main part to hook it up
It’s a Klr world 😎🤙
Lose the Russian techno music
Don't seem to have the remote cable on my Harmon kardon factory amp ( 2015 Forester XT)
When tapping into the speaker lines, was that before the signal goes into the HK amp? Or are those wires/signals AFTER the amp? I’m doing this exact same install in my 2014 Forester XT next weekend. The only difference is that i opted for a LC2i Pro for the LOC. who knows if ill ever be able to tell the difference, but since i was already spending money on the higher quality amp and sub, I might as well spend more on the LOC too.
where did you end up tapping?
@@kianr2200 I ended up tapping into the signals BEFORE going into the HK amp. I made a video almost identical to this one on my page if you wanna check it out.
@@alexmancilla9498 thanks yo i’ll def check yours out, doin a ton of research rn
That dude is a warrior
2011 Subaru legacy 3.6 premium Haram kardon non nav I am looking for a connecter pinouts from the head unit to the factory amp so I can tap into the speaker level rear speakers to install a aftermarket amp and bypass the factory amp but I cannot find a wire diagram any help would be appreciated
Looks terrible lol I rather be rear ended
Where did you source the bulb?
Why go through all that with the mat covering the sound??
How incredibly boring your narration is. The sound of your voice caused me to stop watching at 5:10. Re beginning to bleed.
So very clean, sweet ride. Do you still have this bike in 2021?
Great job! Klr650's out having fun! Its what that bike was built for! Can't wait to get mine out....
It's actually a DRZ-250 tail light. NOT the DR-250/350 tail light commonly seen on E-Bay for $25-$30.
Totally predictable big heavy bog+ no off road skills and zero planning..
Could you have picked a more awful music. The KLR engine makes all the music sound that's needed.
Weird, I'm running 4awg, alpine rated 600, same sub. When I get to 40vol it's like the sub disappears. Not sure if it's ground or bad tune.
Hi, this might be late but if you are using a non harmon kardon system and you try to take the bass signal from a door speaker the radio cuts out bass at high volumes to protect the cheap speakers. You need an active line out converter to bring the bass back such as an audio control lc2i. Hope this helps...
@@sparten576 I'm Harmon kardon. I'd tapped in from the amp wires under the seat. I redid my ground too. I just need to find the time to go to an empty lot and really fiddle with it. I use a Rockford Fosgate hlc. It's not my first install in a car though definitely my most disappointing at a 700+/- cost. Have been contemplating getting a different amp which can drive my last 12 1000rms @1ohm, to test.. Then if I need the space swap to the jl while traveling.
@@reactcirca i had issues when i hooked up a sub to my 2017 civic to replace the stock stuff. My sub would cut out completely at higher volumes. I'm assuming my amp was not being fed enough voltage and cutting out, or my line out converter was giving out. Anyways, the same stuff to my new car and done have any issues on an aftermarket radio but a bigger alternator/battery. Try a capacitor or batter back by your sub amp?
@@sparten576 it's just dumb bc I did the same setup or more with an 09 altima and 97 saab 900se stock electrical and never had this issue lol
Does it effect the eyesight? Seems like a dumb thing to ask but just curious.
That single 10" in a sealed box isn't enough to do all that. Most wall builds with 18"s don't even impact your vision most of the time. Its not a dumb question cause it is concerning. But no.
@@DJ_BFG subarus eyesight feature is what I meant. Not my first sub build, just with that safety feature
Since you have fiddled with the hardon kardon amp I assume after this. Can you hook up a hideaway 8inch sub straight to that ? I am dumbfounded where you put it. Kind of ingenious. I had a nvx vcw122(1k rms) in way too big a box in my last vehicle. I miss the deep lows , so this brings a new project abound haha.
You put bark busters on this yet ?
Yeah thanks man, I just got a 2017 forester xt so this is perfect and looks a lot easier to do then some of the others I’ve seen. I went with the ho wedge. I’d love to see how you did the amp and ground.
Do you do anything with the brown wires on the loc?
Omg you've made me so happy seeing you spliced into the stock amp wires. Now I need to see the video of how it sounds
Wow, impressive you’re doing that kind of trail riding on bigger bikes
So crazy. My name is also Chad S and I'm trying to install a JL Audio sub in my Subaru Forester. What are the odds? Decided to do it myself just because of this video. Thanks man!
Thank you for the easy to follow instructions. I'm about to do this with my 2016 Touring.
Nicely done! Informative video. Thank you!
So what about the loss of frequency range? That amp is sending a specific signal to your mids since its tuned for the mids on the channel you tapped. Meaning your sub will not be hitting as low or as high as it could do with a natural full range signal going into your LOC. The problem with these new HK units is they are extremely hard to bypass and get a full signal from the amp. Did you find a way around this or did you just settle? Others tap the sub outputs, you tapped the mids, but no one seems to compare it to a native RCA output of a radio. I'm about to approach this, but everyone is doing it differently, they all say it booms, but all the data shows the sub is being repressed on these factors I mentioned. Being -10 where I'm at I'm trying to get the best way possible so I spend little time in and out of a friends garage fixing things in the car. Installing a TW5 I scored for a killer deal and dont want to handicap this beautiful beastm
Is there anywhere online that shows which outputs are for the sub?
You just gave me faith with a 10 inch shallow giving the missing lows my HK system fails to bring.
Thank you!
thanks for this, but i have a question. what you doing with the brown wires of the sni-35 ?
Where did you find a wiring diagram I'm looking for one for my vehicle is a 2017 Subaru Impreza
Did you found the diagram.
I have a 2018 Forester, I can't find out where the entry of that rubber housing is under the dash. If you can enlighten me, that would be great. Been looking for hours.
I have an 2018 forester touring. You can route the power cable through the firewall on the drivers side near the top. There are 2 available accessory grommets at your disposal. You can use a wire gland instead of the rubber grommet to a watertight seal.
How does this compare to the JL Audio ACS110LG-TW1? I have a 2018 Forester, same car.
Did you not run the power cable through the door grommet because of the thickness? I did a light bar install on my xt and ran the cable through the door grommet. But on my jl audio 12" subwoofer I did it through the same grommet that you did.
Theres are 2 accessory grommet holes in the firewall on the drivers side near the top. You can use a wire gland for the wire to pass through and make a secure, watertight connection
I have the the same in line converter but which one positive or negative on the box for the rcas they are both the same color
AWESOME. Thank you. That was G8!
I got one and it lowered me down 1 1/2 inches. Hard as a rock. Went back to the stock seat and lowered the bike.
Great video, thank you. Did you change all of the factory speakers? I just replaced all eight in my 2018 Forester XT Touring (looks extraordinarily similar to your car) with speakers I got from Crutchfield, and the sound is much better. However, now I want to replace the Harman Kardon amp with a more powerful unit. Ideally, I would like to lose the mid range speakers in the dashboard and rear doors because they only handle 50 watts and retain the other 4 speakers in the doors because they sound better and handle far more power. I’m worried about losing Starlink functionality if I replace the Harman Kardon amp. (For example, simply disconnecting the speakers in the dashboard will produce a Starlink error message.) I would very much appreciate any ideas from other TH-camrs. Thank you!
Nice clean install! I've got a Sony XAV-AX100 headunit with Infinity Primus components in my 2015 Limited. My sub install will have to be a bit different (no Harman Kardon and I have RCA sub outs, so very straightforward) but I want to do it like yours, with the sub under the cargo area. I was thinking about an underseat unit with an integrated amp but this looks like the better way to go, in terms of quality sub options. Jealous of those lovely brown seats too, lol.
Nice video. Where can i find wiring diagram for the subaru outback 2013? i have the harman kardon amp, but i want to know the wiring diagram.
Wtf??? 😂
Nice concise video. Thanks for posting.
If you're too short for the stock seat, you need to get yourself a pink scooter.
That's a pretty severe punishment for having shorter legs, don't ya think?
Did you disconnect the front speakers when you tuned your amp? I’m doing a very similar setup in my 17 Impreza Sport with the factory HK system. I’m trying to figure out if I want to disconnect the front speakers while I tune it...I don’t want to have to take the doors apart but I also don’t want to cut the factory wires at the HK amp. The other consideration I thinking about is how loud to turn up the factory HU when tuning the aftermarket amp I’m adding because I know the factory HU rolls off the bass frequencies at a certain volume level.
Great video. Installed a similar line converter to my factory system in a 2017 wrx with H/K . I installed my power wire through the firewall. There is an empty grommet behind the dash about the gas pedal. I also did not need a remote wire for my pioneer gm8601. This amp has built in remote turn on through the RCA's.
slappin
Do you still got it ? Do the led light still work well ? Any issue ?

I completed the install. Took your video for inspiration and put in a Pioneer 200W Bridged amp driving a sealed 10" Sony sub. Just adds so much to the factory system... Thanks once again for daring to do something different to get better sound into our car. Legend.
Did you have any issues with window functions from driver door or like illuminatation on the other doors for window up and down?
@@reactcirca I didn't disassemble the doors so didn't have any issues with windows or illumination.
@@seanmchughnt yeah after disconnecting battery, had to reteach my window functions. I don't honestly care about the illumination issue of the other doors. Just kind of lame. Something to bring up with services whenever I hit my first free oil change
@@reactcirca Ahh, understood. Yes the battery disconnection can reset alot of things but I didn't have any window or illumination issues.
@@seanmchughnt curious, where a good mount point is. I used the right back seat bolt. Though want to redo the ground this weekend as there seems to be a power drop on my amp. Order some screws and all so can knock it out Saturday. Just want to make sure I find a good grounding point.
