I'm having difficulty tuning the resonance. I press it a little and it already reaches 400 Hz. My Snare is a Gretsch Drums USA 14" x 6.5" Hammered Chrome over Brass Snare. Due to the fact that the material is in Brass and the drumhead resonance is very thin, is it normal to reach 400Hz so quickly? Because on Toms you have to tighten it a lot more. I use Tune bot

I would like to see this with his new DW Super Solid 13x6 snare. I don't think he has recorded an album with it yet but he used it on his drumeo videos.

Hey man Did venting the head only made any difference in terms of overall volume level of the snare?

I like the powerstroke 3 better. It breathes more and lets the drum sing better in my opinion...

How did you achieve the snare sound?

Outstanding playing, but also, the energy was just perfect. So many other covers have people playing this song but they just don't really seem to get that into it. I was looking for a cover where someone FELT the song and I found it here. Top notch work, my friend.

Awesome content! I actually preferred the unmodded head. The modded head sounded great, but could you achieve the same sound with an Emperor X?

Why does no one ever talk about the app that works in conjunction with the tunebot itself! You simply type in drum sizes desired pitch and sustain and the calculator gives you the recommended settings based on a mathematical formula to get your whole kit sounding great! Without this its a bit like a bike without a chain!

Great video! I love the insights. I do have a question about the reso head, though. When I try to tune the 4 lugs near the snare bed to the same pitch as the others, the hoop seems to bend. Is this normal? I’m worried about potentially damaging the drum. Any advice would be appreciated!

The plastic ring on my Emperor SMT is falling apart. I find a chunk of plastic on the floor every few days. I currently have the foam ring held onto the head with gaffer tape. I'm heading out today to just get a P3 and call it good. Wherever Remo sourced this plastic from, it's brittle. Drum has not moved since I put the head on 4 months ago.

I love c&c drums so much. I have the owners number I also don't live that far way from where they are made as well. Bill is an amazing person.

My ton control method is proper tuning!! Simple as that. If people don’t like pingyness just get a wood snare

Used a online frequency generator at 400 hz and tuned so the sound matched. Really fast and the snare sounds great now! :) Thanks!

so you know the current studio model reads beater and has been improved detection wise and different led. I have the first gen one like you but they changed the design after that one

Honestly much prefer the unmodded version. Too much ring with the modded version, no point in even having a P77 at that point just use a CS or black dot

If you'd play the guitar and the snare is D Sharp tuned, you'd understand why D tuning is comfortable enough. Namastè.

I love the snare tone. I also love the snare tone on Sing the Sorrow from AFI. The first snare hit on that album gives me goosebumps every time.
