Hello reader.
Birdnest watching has become a passion of mine in 2022 and I like to share some of that with you.
So on this channel I want to show you some incredible moments in a birds live. Mostly Osprey, but also other birds of prey like the Arctic Snowy Owls, Hobby Falcon and not in the least the Goshawks!
I try to add a little extra to just a copy of the nest cams, but sometimes it's just a shorty to share with you.
Also on this channel are a few video's on the model I made of the solar system in 3d (three-js javascript), which was a fun project a few years ago.
Note that even though google translate is very handy, I prefer communication in English (or Dutch) and will remove comments that I don't like or have time to translate.

Today 5 May 2024, Maya removed an egg from the nest. It was probably not viable, but it's unknown yet why she removed it. In the video we see Maya get up the day before, just when she sat on the eggs.. looking at it from the edge of the nest, maybe she already felt something. The 3 remaining kids are learning to control the fights. It's more pushing and hitting than anything.. also once the prey is under control, the remaining kids turn around and wait for the next chance.. It all seems so civilized, but the battle is still going on. The youngest is still to small to dominate in a fight, and is depending on the food delivered by mum.. as she does the feeding. Dad ju...

Oh no... Another fish was let loose .. this time by Maya.. For the first time this season Blue 33(11) fed the chicks, while Maya was brooding on the others.. #1 who was in a bad mood today, got the pleasure of being fed by Dad.. even when its crop was already full... it never says no to a free meal! What began as a nice meai ... well No 3 was a bit bored and started harassing #1.. for a very long time.. Maya is feeding the chicks, when 33 lands and is intruder calling.. he leaves, maya keeps calling.. and then.. An unringed female lands on the nest. Maya scares her off, but she returns a moment later.. it takes a few minutes for maya to resume feeding the chicks I'm keeping an observationboard, including fish, egg time, feedings, video's, non-nest cam pictures and more on: ospreycam.net/manton...

The 4th chick has just hatched under 3 hours before.. at least it was half out of the shell at 18.25. Blue 33(11) brought a fresh fish.. a bit too fresh and he let it go too soon.. so it goes through the nest, like a fish in the water... Then.. Maya let it go for a second time.. A lovely day at Manton Bay, with 2 fish delivered and 10 good feeds (until 8 pm) Chick have been out in the sun a couple of times. This is from the 20:19 feed. Fun to see the chick bobbing in sync and both getting a nice crop on them.. they will sleep soundly after this I'm keeping an observationboard, including fish, egg time, feedings, video's, non-nest cam pictures and more on: ospreycam.net...
