@isisrises I have two strain locs, & ima do the semi freeform. Your locs give inspiration & motivation 😊
@@joshuamiddlebrooks enjoy the journey!
@@isisrises appreciate that. Could I start it within my 1st two weeks in? Or should I wait a bit till they locd more?
@@joshuamiddlebrooks really just depends on your hair and how you want it, but it will loc either way retwist or no retwist. If you don’t retwist then just separate your roots so they don’t marry into freeforms
@@isisrises I want them to grow long like shoulder length. & thick like med size. After this, every month I'll retweet and let them be in between. You and yours are beautiful
@@joshuamiddlebrooks thanks!
Your locs are very healthy🙏🏿 may the most high bless
@@Alamo94 ☺️ thank you 🙌🏼
Hey queen I love the thickness of your locs. Please, I'm considering interlocking... I will like to know if interlocking will stop my hair from thickening over time or I should stick to retwisting? I just started mine and I have 66. Any suitable guidance will be deeply appreciated.
@@relaxing10hourswhitenoise95 hey 👋🏼 based on my experience, my interlocs did thicken up a bit over time but yes overall interlocking does limit how thick your locs can get as opposed as to retwist

Next time you should try a Flexi rod on each individual loc to see how it would look
@@flocaine Okay! I might just have to!
Sorry I’m lost 😞 so what about the hair that’s lose stains when it’s time after wash
@@lovematters77 they will make their way into the locs over time if you separate your roots regularly or do twist or braids. This is just what some ppl do if they don’t retwist often or at all.
I love your results & flexi rods..soft and comfortable if sleeping. Pipe cleaner curls are cute but scary cause it seems they will snag and break hair
@@tammiehughes4009 I’ve been wanting to try pipe cleaners! I think I’m still going to give them a try 😆 I’ll share a vid too and report on the snagging
I love this. Its been hard not washing my hair until time for retwist so i quit that process because my texture is so soft. ..like cotton that it unravels and feels like a waste of $125. I keep them clean and moisturized by misting with alkalized water glycerin and pure aloe gel
@@tammiehughes4009 thanks :) yea I feel you on the waste of money lol. Thanks for sharing your routine too 🙌🏼

@@DesireeNMotion thank you! He has 32 locs plus 6 starter locs from growing out his side and back taper. So once those mature he’ll have 38. Super close to 40! I took a peek at your shorts and just want to say your locs are nice 😍
@@isisrises awesome!….thanks girl, i appreciate it.
You are my person. Lol. I have. Been trying to find someone that has similar texture as me w/ a lower loc count, and hadn't really been finding it. How long did the curls last?
@@Whatiskansolawatching I feel like most of the curls in the front were pretty loose or gone by day 5, but the back curls were still pretty solid. I ended up running water in my hair on day 6, I’d say they can last anywhere from 4-7 days depending on lifestyle

@@youheard4052 thank youuuu ❤️
CUTE STYLE!!🤎 Thanks for sharing, you are def on to something here!! I'm a year into my locs, maybe the parting is what's knows as "traditional" medium sized locs. I maintenance through interlocking, works really well for me (gym and sports active). I'm all about that less is more let it "do what it do" life. 3-4 retightenings a year is the goal with it maybe even getting to fewer. I like the full look, fro @ the roots, not the visible parts, scalp-showing look. I'll let the maturity of my locs guide how few retightenings I can do. While I appreciate the availability of online resources, there are certainly overly complicated "rules" out there.
@@youheard4052 thank you!! I was the same way with my interlocs. By year 3 I was retightening only 2x a year. I think interlocking is amazing for people who are very active. And yes I agree! I enjoy researching and learning from others but it all just comes down to what’s best for you bc really there are no rules Thanks so much for watching ❤️
Hey Love, how would you have navigated semi free forming with your first set? We have similar textures ( I think ?) medium/normal density, fine strands, kinda spongy etc. but I have smaller locs. I tried semi free forming back in the spring and I think I was getting breakage around the roots that gives the allusion of growing away from the loc (but really it was just hairs breaking). I’m considering combing to make them thinker to combat this, but I still need to learn to crochet lol
@@queenali91 Hey 👋🏼 it’s hard to say but depending on how small your locs are it could be beneficial to combine. In the last year with my first set I kind of did semi free-form bc I only retightened 2x. I would just separate my roots at least once every 2 weeks. I didn’t do anything much different than I do now honestly
@@isisrises I gotcha. I’m going to keep expanding see how long I can go!
Woah, that was so easy!! I definitely thought it would be a much harder process. Love how versatile the seamoss is and how you don’t waste any of it- even the water!! Also thanks for the tip of massaging your scalp, imma make sure i start doing that!

You're locs are nice! Because you ask 🤗As a cosmetologist I always would recommend some oil when needed because locs is tangled hair, and hair is dead . Especially add oil to the ends. Also some people hair doesn't produce enough sebum therefore sometimes oil on the scalp is needed. Also steam in shower. Oil don't cause a buildup. And clarifying shampoo will remove as any buildup if you need it. Good that you already use it when needed!
@@chikiaqueennatural678 thank you ❤️ and thanks for sharing that info! I always leave my hair out in the shower and that’s why I haven’t bought a steamer yet lol I kinda feel like I don’t really need it fr

@@goldennkem thank you 💕
So nice to see another video about your beautiful locs. My routine is very simple as well (If I'm being honest I didn't do much to my loose natural hair either) lol I use oil and a leave in conditioner on wash days. I wash my hair 2 to 3 times a month, and only oil my scalp on wash days. If my locs need hydration during the week I spray them with a mixture of aloe juice and distilled wateror I just wet them in the shower. I have a steamer, and I use that about once a month, and I do hot oil treatments with peppermint JBCO about once a month as well. I don't feel the need to do a lot to my hair. I don't do styles and I just let my hair be. That works for me.
@@DeliciafromBrooklyn thank you 💗 and thanks for sharing your routine! I’m so excited to start using a steamer
@@isisrises you will love it! After using it your locs will feel so soft and hydrated.

I love your locs so beautiful 😍 I wish I had your hair, my brother has 4 c hair and I wish I had his hair I be doing locs😍 is it best to blow dry the hair before doing twist on your hair? Also do you oil every time after you wash your hair??
@@kazhata7568 thank you for watching! No you don’t have to blow dry to twist your hair it’s just a preference. I don’t use a lot of oil but I will use a very little after shampooing bc I use a clarifying shampoo
@@isisrises thank you 😊 what oil do you recommend? What benefits does rosemary water do for your hair?
@@isisrises what shampoo do you use? I didn't see one speck of lint the whole video, do you wear the locs covered often?
@@kazhata7568 you’re welcome! I like vitamin E oil and rosemary water has many benefits. Do a quick google search and it’ll list a lot of things. If you haven’t seen my recent vid check it out. I talk about all the oils and waters I use. th-cam.com/video/V615Bk33f_M/w-d-xo.htmlsi=pAVMi7vqVcDpRAS2
@@PackofDiscos I use a clarifying shampoo and apple cider vinegar every wash. I would say I cover my locs maybe 50% of the time. I do have a little bit of lint but I try to catch it before it gets stuck in my locs. I rarely cover my hair when I go outside though. I have some other videos talking about the products I use too!
