Weber Kamado Lite build
After finding a Primo XL Kamado stand on a junk pile, I added a Weber kettle to it. I describe the ceramics and various components I added to a $10 Weber kettle to make it Kamado like, ie: Kamado Lite.

What is the purpose of it?
@larrythompson5617 Water trough on the outside can add moisture to your cook or if you leave it empty it puts air insulation zone between the kettle and the coal.
Really nice mods. 🙌🏼 I’ve always been a Weber fan. Made in America and these mods just made it even better. 🤘🏼
@@f0t0b0y Thanks. Grill On brother 🔥
Nice
So they’ve put the water as far as possible from the meat you are smoking. Brilliant. My kettle is 20 years old, and the coals against have caused zero damage. They obviously had patent violation problems with SnS if they put it as a buffer to the meat
Very nice grill marks. I do parallelogram rhombus grill marks, a somewhat squatty diamond shape where two opposite corners are a little closer than the other two opposite corners. This is the marks that win steak championships every year. I do 30 seconds then flip over, repeat. Then flip n spin from 11 o'clock to 1 o'clock. So less than 90 degree rotation. Then flip to the last :30. I then slow cook to 128 degrees Fahrenheit i let rest till steaks are below 100 then i brand the grill marks with an electric charcoal starter. I brand till i get a good char rather than just Maillard Reaction. I let cool to below 100 degrees again, then i overall sear on very hot cast iron for 45 seconds to develop an overall Maillard Reaction ( pronounced My Yard). Let rest. Its work, but a good steak is worth more work than hamburger. Love your channel.
@Garymayo Thanks Gary. Good tips. 11 and 1:00. I'll remember that. Grill On 🔥
I notice you have a bushing on both ends of the spit. Do they both hold weight?
No. I think I just store the spare bushing there. Grill On 🔥 brother
Great mod. Tip. lose the music. Then we can hear your comment better.
Ok next time
Does that adapter for the WSM come with the inkbird?
@@botelloheritage12 No. Available separately on Amazon.
Put 4 nuts and bolts on the top corners of the turntable so heat gets under the turntable to the center of the top stone from underneath. Excellent how to video. Use a lid with zero rubber on it.
@@Garymayo Good suggestion. Check kit my latest pizza set up using a center pivot turntable. Grill On 🔥 brother
i'd like to see more of this in action
Stay tuned. There is more on the way. Grill On 🔥 brother

Bruce Arians out here living his best life. He even got his hair back! You love to see it!
Nice build. How is the insert working out. I’m on the fence to buy it. Because I see adding coal during a cook might be an issue.
@ernestoreyes8012 I take more time to bring this greater mass up to temp, but you are less likely to over-shoot your target temperature (saving fuel) and reduces fuel consumption over the entire cook. For the price of a nice restaurant meal, you can have this. Grill On 🔥
Love mine, drip tray is a must❤
@@dondiesel1100 Agreed. Especially if you run a blower or a Venom. Grill On 🔥
Very nicely done! FYI, the music is a nice touch, but it is a bit too loud for the microphone until about 10:30 and again after 12:51. However, the subtitles work well to fill in the gaps. Looking forward to see more cooks!
Fantastic
You should test out a vacuum tumbler and do a side by side blind taste test! I'd love to see if those tumblers are worthwhile. Nice work on this!
@@tpaselk0311 Interesting. What is a vacuum tumbler? Please send a link.
Would this size grate work on a 22”? I’ve got the 14 and 22. Thanks.
@genebae1364 Yes. This is a 2 piece Grill Grate for the 14, so it can be used on the 14, 18, and the 22 as a searing station. Grill On 🔥
I love using the TTT with my WSM 18. So stable. Great idea with magnets. The clips aren’t great. Thanks for the video.

I just purchased the drip pan based on your review, and a sale on Amazon. I also have the same basket as you. Can’t wait to cook with it. Thanks for the review.

I noticed that the mods you installed (the side riser pipe) was missing. I have Oklahoma Joes Bronco smoker that uses the side pipe air intake. I haven't tried my Inkbird ISC-027BW smoke controller yet. Did yours perform better with using the bottom vent method?
Not really. I haven't cooked with the riser installed yet. It will get the probe wires under control, but I don't expect it to effect the cook. Thanks for asking. I need to get back on some longer cooks now that the 100+° days are behind us. Grill On 🔥
Looks amazing,
@JulieFoster-q9z Thanks. Please Subscribe to get notified when I post something new. I need all the Subscribers I can get, to meet my goals with TH-cam. Thanks for following.
Looking good. Do you have recipe for the batter
@BrandonCarder Kentucky Kolonel seasoned flour, 2 eggs, yellow mustard, and Tony Chachere's Creole seasoning 1 to 2 tablespoons. Tarter sauce was mayo, chopped dill pickels, lemon juice, and pickle juice to the consistency you like. Grill On 🔥 Thanks for watching, subscribing, and sharing.
Here is the problem I have. It is a Chinese knock off. Only fire has done this to other US companies as well, taking their products, pricing them out of the market, and essentially working around patent infringement. Don't get me wrong, they have some products that were their own idea and design, but I also know they have taken designs and ideas from CajunBandit, SnS, and KettlePizza. I do my best to avoid buying the products taken from American Companies. In the case of CajunBandit, most of his product line was wiped out because he got blocked out of his suppliers. It is a sad sight to see the people who came up with the ideas not getting the credit.
I understand your position.
looks great
Thanks Craig. Grill On 🔥brother
Any BBQ'ers running pits with any real experience at all will tell you that controlling the temperature by restricting the outflow of air instead of the inflow is poor practice.
@@tvideo1189 Thank you. I'm having good luck with both, but you raise an interesting point. I'll be doing some research to better understand the differences.
@@JeffOnFire Do the tests yourself. You get way cleaner smoke by limiting the intake rather than the outlet. Damping the outflow causes "sooty" tasting smoke compared to a good, although limited, flow through.
Have you cooked with it yet?
@@arrow_head24 Sorry. Not yet. I promise I will.
quite the feast brother! everything looks great. how you liking the inkbird temp controller? Also I've been avoiding the purchasing of the diffuser plate on the wsm but your usage made me want to get it. (so many accessories on my wishlist, i am going to go broke lol)
@SJCOOKS the inkbird works fine. I also made a riser for it to bring the probe connections up to grate level. I'll send you the link for that. The FireDial was in a blemish sale I found on the WOOT app. $28 bucks I think. It had a little rust started on it, but who cares.

Mesquite wasn’t too harsh for poultry?
@BrandonCarder It was a bit bitter one of the chickens. The rub in that one really soaked up the smoke. I only used a few small chunks through the entire cook, but you are exactly right. I'm sticking with Apple and Cherry wood moving forward. Thanks for watching. Grill On 🔥
It's cool that you cook for the neighbors too! Turkey looked great!
They basically sponsor my bigger cooks. They provide the meat, and I smoke or grill it for free.

How, if you know offhand if the Tip Top Temp will work with a bbq guru digi q3? Just wondering if you get more control, or will they have conflict with each other. Im using a wsm 32, with extension ring.
@TheDaddystressed I don't have a Guru. I do have a Venom controller for my kettles, and an Inkbird controller for my WSM. I think using the TTT with either one of those would be a conflict. But if you try it, let me know. Grill On 🔥
