Carnival Legend Eight Day Glacier Bay Cruise 2015
Enjoy the complete Eight Day Glacier Bay Cruise aboard the Carnival Legend, sailing from 18 May through 26 May 2015.
The video was shot with a Brinno TLC200 f1.2, recording one frame every twenty seconds, and the video encompasses the entire cruise, including the shortened nights.
The camera was mounted to an armature on the railing of our cabin, which was Vista Suite 7298
In post-production, the video was segmented into discrete days, with each twenty-four hour period compressed into three minutes of run-time.
The timestamp running on the video is in Central Daylight Savings Time (DST), with no adjustment was made for either Pacific or Alaska DST time zones in order to keep the timestamp consistent.

For us, the cruise was for our 30th anniversary and our last "official" family vacation, since our three boys are in the process of leaving the nest. Were temperatures unusually warm there? Thank you for sharing your experience of Glacier Bay.
Whirled Publishing The temperatures were mild in the southern end of the Inside Passage, but in Glacier Bay NP (our most northern point of travel), we needed our heavier coats. There was a 20+ knot wind, and I had to use gloves, toboggan hat, thermal underwear and winter coat to combat the cold.

Steven Webb I'm a data-based climate researcher - I search for verification of the electronic data - youtube videos are a great source of info. Methane levels are skyrocketing in the Arctic Circle so we are closely monitoring the effects. Methane traps the heat 100 times more than CO2. Pardon me for asking but why is it called Glacier Bay? Did you see any glaciers?
Whirled Publishing The cruise takes you to Glacier Bay National Park (www.nps.gov/glba/). Per the National Park Service's web site: "Currently glaciers cover 2,055 square miles or 27% of the Park. At last count there were 1,045 glaciers in the Park. There are over 50 named glaciers, 7 of which are active tidewater glaciers that calve icebergs into the sea."
