Talked to Terry backstage a couple times, absolutely one of nicest guys I ever met! Death is cruel ☹️
Wearing a shirt that says Cold Ass Honkey while burning it down like that is supremely badass
Thanks body ❤
I miss this band...😪
RIP Terry - Great banjo tune written by the late great Terry Baucom - The Duke of Drive
Maravillosa combinación de musicos
I didn't know they played together, it's fantastic... and I could see both (separately) alive :)
This is so God damn American
it's really cool to view from this angle
IF YORE FOOT AINT TAPPIN ... YERR HRRONG
Thank you for posting this! I have listened to this today at Blue Note Tokyo! It was the fantastic live by Pat Metheny and Ron Carter!
Just seeing tonight! Wonderful!!!!!
That last banjo run was insane precision
2:08 amazing ❤❤❤
First time I've seen a capo on a Dobro...
Damed, that was a hot day in the sun.
Jason Davis! He is the man!
Damn...I wish I was there. Amazing stuff! Thanx for the upload!
can i know which this version?
Wow they can all play the melody so musically. That’s what I strive for, not sure how they got there😂😂
I was probably right next to you. That is our favourite spot. I was recording sound.
I believe Metheny has played with every cat from the the Second Great Quintet EXCEPT Miles and Wayne…I *could be wrong about Wayne, however…
❤❤
Wonderful memories :) Thank you for sharing.
He's a brilliant banjo player but is the guitarist even playing the same tune? It sounds a bit 'off' to me.
They couldn't play in Texas, You gotta have a fiddle in the band!
We just posted this tune. I found it on TH-cam and had to learn it
Do you have any more footage from this show?
Wow amazing
Sexy set. Gotta say. I didnt mind not having a violin in there. Banjo is always the star.
You can't hear it.
I Was THERE! 😃 My wife, road dog, and I are even in one of the posters at the top of the balcony yelling down to Ron and Pat!
Clay Jones comes outta the woodwork with a killer guitar break.
I bet Ron told Pat to wear a jacket
I'm sure it was done out of respect for Ron Carter. Wes and Miles were and are Pat's biggest idols and Ron Carter was a major musical contributor to both of them. I do think that Metheny is now playing on the same level as they did - the perfromance here is spectacular.
Grew up with Bluegrass a lot if family play great music when they got together. I hated it for long time now I like to listen to it sometimes. Takes me back. They are all gone now.
These guys were awesome!
Didn't this fellow play for Karl Shifflet and the Big Country Show?
Yes he did. Seen him a couple times with them.
Anyone know what brand banjo he's playing?
Damn good!
What kind of mando is this? IT'S KILLER
Who are the singer and the musicians?
It’s so nice discover new clips all the time with one of my heroes Mr Ron Carter. Here with another favorite Pat Metheny So good!
Can't beat the .Home made music. 👍🤪
Nice song, well done. Agree on the flag comment. Dated +6 months. Probably cost you some audience.
dang
No contest Jeremy was a beast
I might be totally wrong but to me it sounds like there is more chorus when he plays in the higher registers! Like there is as more chorus mixed in as high he goes.. at least to me it sounds like it.. I know it’s a new instrument with the Charlie Christian pups.. but he integrates some of his old vibes too
I'm one of those folks that misses his old ES-175 sound....I know Pat doesn't like to hear it and he argued that it wouldn't stand a blind test. HOWEVER, hearing this clip here - even with the phone recording - totally reminds me of the old ES-175 vibe. There is a sparkle there and a 'woodiness' that very well might be due to the Charlie Christian PU. Anyway, the playing here is amazing from both Pat and Ron Carter. Can't wait to see Pat solo this Sunday here in Switzerland!
Incredible banjo playing.
Lovely performance, thank you for posting it. I love this tune.
